  • No puedo creer q haya gente amargada q no le guste este tema tan hermoso, 7 personas no tienen idea de la buena musica...

  • Never seen the show and don't want to, but I love the theme. So early-mid 80s hotel lobby.

  • One of the best parts of T.V. shows was the theme song. It's a shame we have allowed them to be sacrificed to the gods of advertising.

  • Slightly different from the other version, you are right. A little slower, awareness of changes . . .excellent post!

  • great show......... brings back loads of memories........paul and nicola

  • One of the best theme songs ever! Thanks!!

  • P.S. don't forget Teena Marie.. She rocked the 80's as well!!!

  • I agree IronMan..... I Love this song!!!! I remember watching this show when I was kid.. I love the 80s!!

  • I miss this show! I miss the 80s!

  • 80's forever!!!

  • Long live Maddie Hayes and David Addison!!

  • The 1980's were pretty good

  • Wow!! This really brought back some great memories, I adore this song! Fantastic!!!!

  • this is where bruce willis got his real start. this show was awesome

  • Thank you from Japan, I loved this song when I was in high school watching

    Moonlighting....

  • Bring back memories!

  • love this song but I like the other one better.

  • What tv series were in those times!! Thanks for share the music is simply excellent!! so romantic, so coool!! like a walk under moon light :)

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh memories....

  • TV shows actually had theme music back then...and AWESOME music at that. It's a crying shame to witness the deterioration of network television in this country over the past two decades. It's as if the executives just stopped giving a damn.

  • @TheDarthEddie They have stopped giving a damn. Quality is no longer a determining factor in TV or music anymore. It can be as shitty as it wants to be, just as long it lines the pocket of the executives.

  • @TheDarthEddie The executives are just out to make money. They only care about their bottom line, they don't seem to care about the quality of product, and they rarely if ever give the quality shows a fair shot anymore. Television, not just network television, has deteriorated over these past ten years. Back in the day, in the 80s and 90s, they knew how to put out a quality product.

  • sono davvero contenta che qualcuno la pensi come me...transl=i am very very happy there s someone who agrees with me

  • al jarreau and bruce willis. two men who shaped my taste in music. cheers to you guys!

  • MY FAV brings back such good memories

  • Ohhh, instant memories as a 13 year old in '85...The infamous lineup was Who's The Boss, Growing Pains, & Moonlighting...I would give anything to have those days back...Shows today don't have an ounce of what these shows once did...Don't think we'll be talking about 'Happy Endings' & 'The Middle' 25 years from now!

  • 80s tv was great its all realiity shows now RUBBISH

  • Classic song

  • Fabulous performance, not to much else can be said for this gem!

    Thanks so much for posting

  • The best TV theme song ever written.

  • I remember when this show first came out, I was so obsessed with "Moonlighting" and with this song too.

  • 6 people can't see in the dark!!

  • marvelous!! Series I remember I was about 15 when I saw this series I was always in love of Cybill Lynne Shepherd WHAT A GORGEOUS!! Then the song of the film with Al Jarreau absolutely complete.

  • I remember the "doo wa diddy diddy dom diddy doo" episode!!! Goodtime 80's

  • when t.v. shows were still t.v. shows

when cable still had good shows and stations

when t.v shows had a jingle with lyrics

    Much respect to the 80's

  • The best show ever!!!! I love Cybill & Bruce together. So romantic mmmmm!!!!!

  • This theme was written especially for the series (by Al Jarreau and Lee Holdridge), 'Uconn'. If the series was produced these days however, you'd only hear about 45 seconds [or less] of it in the opening titles, and NONE of it in the "custom" network closing credits [promo or "next week's preview" occupying 90% of the screen, and production credits in "teenchy-weenchy print" at the bottom].

  • Love it, Love it, Love it!! Great memories!

  • al's smoothr then astrolube

  • Song produced and guitar played by legendary Nile Rodgers of CHIC !

  • Nagyon szép szám.

  • A kedvenc sorozatom.

  • His really great singer! Miss Cybill Shepeard and Bruce Willis.

  • The skyline is downtown LA (the business district,a bit like Canary Wharf) Yes the Moonlighting series was epic, great music, Maddie Hayes (Cybil Shepeard) looking seriously hot, and Bruce Willis (David Addison) showing himself as a great comedy actor, and the amazing chemistry between the two of them. Oh and dont forget the BMW 635csi. Pure 80,s chic!!

  • I was watching this when I was going to school...many years ago..

Every Monday at 20:55 I was waiting for moonlighting to begin...

  • quien se acuerda de esta banda sonora de los 80 ´s,era de una serie de Cybill Sheepard y de Bruce Willis,se llamaba luz de luna, que recuerdos....

  • few people know, but al jarreau didn't compose this despite often being credited for it - lee holdridge wrote both the music and the lyrics, jarreau just did the performance.

  • I love this song. It just make's you feel good and it's soo easy on the ears.

  • This song from the TV series has long inspired me as a kid and forever remains my favorite show growing up as a kid. This show was real episodic in its own way!

  • Dam......Please bring back the 80's...

  • i love this (Graydon?) version more so than the popular (Nile Rodgers?) version in teh style of the L is for Lover LP. Better guitar work here and better sax solo also.

    Great post!

  • This really takes me back to my twenties--thanks for the memories!

  • This show i grew up on & loved it alot. I can not get over the writes strike got the show cancelled for a 6th. Sad the show ended at 5 season.

  • I love this movies, starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd on the late 80s, I also love this song. thanks for posting!

  • @edwardconway27 its not a movie, a tv series...

  • @chardnette14 yeah, that's what I mean. :)

  • im 30 now !! i remember havn to sneak and watch moonlighting 85-89!!! went to bed feeln great!!! i was so young !! soooo many memories....

  • 80's :(

  • I have this song :) and all the albums by Al Jarreau. This one's a great, smooth piece

  • Think this old song in old new york street :) aaahhh <3

  • The eighties were very special. People had optism back then and the music and fashion was fun. I was a happy care free teenager. What went wrong. The world has become a dreary place

  • i miss these days when i was happy as a child in the 1980,s i wish i could turn back the clock to go back to these times

I am a bit older than you...I was 18 when the 80s started but I often wish I could go back to the 80s too....the music was great...great videos to go with them...good shows on tv...and times were so much simplier! I'm afraid those are times we will never see again!

  • really really really love this song its great

  • @VectorFanGT

What language is this? If you don't know English well, don't use it, "but I don't can" is not good English. Where are you from Mr VectorFanGT?

  • This bring back memories. TNT is working to bring back "Dallas" and I remember this as one of my top four series to watch: "Moonlighting", "Miami Vice", "Dallas", and "The Equalizer". May these crazy execs never try to re-invent "Moonlighting". No one has a smirk like Bruce Willis.

  • I remember watching this from 1985-1989! I was five years old watching it with my mom! Holy memories!!

  • who composed it-al jarreau or the porducers(phil ramone/gelnn garone)?

  • love this song

  • Where can download this song? I looking for in Internet but i don´t can.The song always like it,is very romantic hehehehe

  • @VectorFanGT I got this from the credits to the pilot episode. I do wish it was available for download somewhere, but the only version that's available comes from the later seasons, which I'm not that crazy about. It's still good, but I just prefer this version.

  • @metrorican i think i have this on vinyl. pretty sure, i really liked the song and the series w Bruce Willis, Cybill Shepherd. i try to find a way to make a copy of it, your copy from the credits is really good work, thanks

  • @metrorican - It is available for download on iTunes; it's on the Jarreau album "The Very Best of: An Excellent Adventure."

  • @VectorFanGT dear Vector try youtube downloader!

  • @VectorFanGT It's got to be on one of Al Jerreau's old albums. I mean he wrote the thing after all. As big a hit as this song was he would have been nuts not to record it.

    Good luck.

  • @VectorFanGT Itunes

  • You can get it on Amazon.com as an MP3 download...I just got it. It's terrific!

  • that is the way ...yes

  • goose bumps al over my bod listening to this.

  • hermosa !

  • back then black people made good music...

  • @smorinjo I stop you there! Black people still do good music :) (I am white by the way) The main idea here is 80`s spirit was about emotional music. Take TV shows, Kids`shows, dance music, etc... Everything was about emotions. We lost that feeling, that`s all. I constantly come back to hear that song theme because it was one of the best. It just makes me feel great somehow...

  • Wow...where did you find this?

  • @Caulfield789 Copied it off a video. Only way to get it, as far as I know.

  • @metrorican THANK YOU SO VERY VERY MUCH.

  • @Caulfield789 - Also available for download on iTunes.

  • Yeah I remember this song and tv show. It was in danish tv every friday night. I was a child at that time and this song reminds me of the good old days, I know it's useless looking back in time but sometimes it's nice to do that.

  • @ruderkonge1976 Hehe, I know what you mean. The past really is a different county isn't it. It saddens me sometimes that it's racing further away all the time.

  • Such a beautiful song its guaranteed to raise my spirits when I'm a bit down cause it transports me back to a time when life in general was much happier, pleasent and stable than now.

    Amazing and thanks for posting.

'Boards of Canada',from a rare album of compiled recordings, most of which were made between1985 &1995by the brothers called"Old Tunes Vol.1"only a couple hundred were made and handed out to friends & family only but were leaked in 2000 along with 2 other rarities titled -"A Few Old Tunes"(96) & "Old Tunes Vol.2"(96)they still circulate, from time to time,to this day and can be found on youtube.

  • god i love this song

Just came back into my head when I watched this clip, don't know why though...LOL
