Get out of using the puff ball on your ball. 1. you dont always remove it all from the ball and that is applying a foreign material to the surface of the ball and thus makes the ball break the USBC rule for changing the surface of a ball durring play. Also if you do that at all in College, that ball is done for the DAY! completly even after breaks!

damn, give him 5 more years of throwing like this before his wrist is shot and he wont be able to throw anything. Lefties have it easy anyways, 95% of the people that bowl do it righthanded, so the lefties shot stays fresh. Im not trying to knock the kid at all, just saying. Give him an old urethane black hammer and let him learn to do it that way. its the equipment doing the work, I can kill people these days because I learned how to adjust with the old stuff board by board.
As a bowler, and a left handed bowler on top of that, let me give you some input. When the lanes are good, a lefty will likely win, or bowl the best, depending on if it's league or tournament. When the lanes are tough, the right handed guys have an advantage, if they play the lanes correctly. If the shot is flat, or flooded, a lefty may never be able to line up properly, as I have been in that situation. When the lanes are good though, good luck beating a lefty who can bowl.
I'm a lefty and I love using my blue hammer remake I can stay on the 10 board all day on a house shot easy as shit, but I agree theres less room for error with urethane all these younger guys dont even know what urethane is lol
@agratias716 I still have a hammer and use it often just to piss people like this off. I can use the new stuff and kill people with it also. I can use the old stuff and make them look even worse. My last ten game set ran 245-221-215-234-209 the first five games with on of my new ones, the last 5 were shot with my hammer just for fun, they ran 217-201-268-227-231. I have the print outs of them all. The best part of this, they say bowling prodigy, take that ball away and see what he does then.

But this clearly shows that he is simply proud of his accomplishment. 15 years old + 299 = congrats! Not the prettiest 299, but as I said before, he's 15. Im amazed at all the criticism. Bowled on one lane? Who cares. Has room? Who cares. Inconsistent on some shots? Who cares. The kid is 15 for crying out loud. I was over a 200 average bowler before 15 but never shot that high as a kid. In the 300 games I have bowled, every shot wasn't perfect. I would go on to bet that he has a 300 under his belt since this video was taped.
Bowling 299s or 300s or 800s is nice and very neat but consistency is what wins you tournaments (and spare shooting). In my area, one of the best bowlers is David Anthony. Always on the top 1-2 in PBA regional pts. He throws like 4-5 revolutions and slow but NEVER misses the pocket in ANY condition. He always cashes in the tournaments. Big crankers who enter usually shoot 260-140-270-120-230-150. David shoots 220-220-230-210-210-220 and kills the crankers. The super crank does not always work
@SynthMusic4Ever i get criticized by fellow bowlers in my area because i throw around 15 mph and relatively straight and easy.. but when it comes down to it my spare conversions are better and no matter the condition i find the pocket. thats the difference and i agree with you. cranking is good if you want a lot of high games. stroking the ball and being good with your timing gets you the high average.
@SynthMusic4Ever It's not the fact that super cranking doesn't always work (or rather cranking in general) it's the fact that this guy Anthony is just a machine. Repeating the shot that got you that 260 is the key to bowling. Most crankers are inconsistent as hell though. Also, the more boards you chances of hitting a weird trouble spot that makes your ball over hook or skate. I bet if he decided to crank he'd have the results.
He throws good, no doubt, but had a good 5-7 board area out there. One ball almost ditched and came back flush. Most of these juniors want to be PBA superstars and crank the hell out of the ball like Robert Smith but if I were him, I would let the house set up some out of bounds conditions or sports conditions to practice in. Many who average 230 in leagues in big lane areas only average 170 is sports shots which is what you need to do to be successful. He needs to do this right now.
It's always impressed me to watch someone with a release like this (my release is much more traditional), but one thing I've noticed as I've gotten older and opted out of youth leagues is that NO ADULTS BOWL LIKE THIS. It leads to bowling injury. I've seen quite a few really good bowlers from my high school days drop out of bowling due to such injuries.
