He is a Cairn Terrier ... and we think he is mighty cute too. He loves climbing ... stumps, rock piles (cairns), mounds of earth.

That was my first guess, but wasn't positive, as there are so many new mixed breeds. I do know a lady who raises them around the Edmonton area. They are one of my favorite small breeds.
