why all the dislikes? likes and comments arent disabled... he is making response videos to the comments that are most interesting....never once insulted anyone....
You are free to believe in a talking snake, and that the earth is about 6000 years old. I defend my right to laugh my ass off. Atheists reject faith, because faith is nothing to be proud of. Why do you take pride in believing in something with no evidence. Besides, you are confused but you look like a nice guy, im sure you have gay friends, do your think they should be killed? Thats what it says in your holy book, and you cant just pick and choose the bits of the bible you wanna believe in
you cannot have a discussion about atheism without encompassing evolution and all other scientific fields, only creationism riles on one thing (the bible) to assert its beliefs. Physics shows us that the way the universe is, is exactly how a universe without a creator would be. Biology/Evolution shows us that we evolved over millions of years through natural selection. I recommend everyone read The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. And A Universe from Nothing by Lawrence Krauss.
@therealwouter We eventually will know everything because we have a vast understanding of our universe already. Think. if our thought process is from an electron movement in our brain and that is subject to the world of physics then cant i sum up all the forces on every molecular item in your body and therefore predict how your going to react to something. If physics prives anything its that the world can be explained through math and science.
Also, as atheists we do not believe in the 'non-belief' in god. We just simply gain knowledge through verifiable testing and evidence, and shape the view of our physical universe based on those. There is no point of contemplating what 'could' be out there as that leaves us with infinite possibilities. E.g: it is physically possible that we are a computer simulation. However, we did not find any observable evidence for it. thinking about what 'might' be out there is philosophy and not science
When we use reason to verify truths we generally must accept the most simple explanation for those truths. Since science can explain the creation of the universe and living things, it seems silly to say that they originated from an invisible omniscient and omnipotent being that has since not shown any evidence of his or her existence. Furthermore the suffering of innocent, god-loving people seems difficult to factor for when considering a supposedly loving judeo-christian god.
This is so ridiculous that I actually thought it was satirical at first.
00:34 - Your evidence needs to be provable, observable and repeatable. You cannot just simply make up your own version of how things work without any experimentation and claim it to be a fact.
00:54 - Atheism is living in world based on evidence and our knowledge. It does not require 'faith'. Then you, again, pull out a statement out of thin air and present it as a fact.
Not enough characters to explain how bs this vid is
My proof is there is no evidence against my belief.
I dont believe reptilian people are taking the world but my belief there has less evidence my first belief.

I believe there is probably somthing driving the universe I jsut don't think we have the inteligance to figure out what it is nor should we worship it since we don't know what it is
if you believe in the bible you are stupid and don't think rationally if you believe in a thing that controls the universe fine.
You know what dosnt make sence.. Why people evolve there life around a stupid book that was proberly written as a fictional story eg. Star wars ahahaha
the burden of proof is on you not me. As I said I don't know if there is or is not a god. My position is not one of faith it is a calculated one based on the available evidence which I have considered and rejected it makes no difference to me what you believe. I may think it silly but that is my opinion nothing more
I am amazed. Big up! It is normal on most xian videos to disable comments or leave them pending approval. As to your challenge I am not forward anything that as a "truth" and don't claim there is a reward or punishment if you don't believe the same way I do, I just don't believe there is a god. There may be I just don't believe there is, if any evidence comes in to prove otherwise I will change my position. You are advancing a position you say is true and ask me to believe it w/o any evidence
Yes, I'm going to join a non existing atheist church very soon. I heard their "faith" requires no praying and you only meet once a year on Feb. 30. Sounds like fun. My kind of religion, it takes none of my time. LOL. Silly Christians.
fail "faith" is 1. belief that is not based on proof, 2. confidence or trust in a person or thing. there is no "thing" that Atheists believe (it being a rejection of a belief) hence atheism itself it is not a faith.
why must Christians be so stupid? can anybody answer me that?
Atheism IS a lack of belief in any gods, goddesses or minor deities. If you require "evidence" that such supernatural beings do not operate on an individual level, then let's do an experiment.
I just prayed for $1000 (a minor sum) from Yahweh. Tomorrow I will not pray for money as a control. Which day will I receive the money?
Oh, that doesn't necessarily prove Yahweh does not exist, you say? Well, then Yahweh's existence is not falsifiable therefore there is no "proof" supporting his existence.
@Greyclouds40 I point this out only because it was pointed out to me and I had to agree the person that called it to my attention was indeed correct, "A lack of belief", used in this context imply's that you are missing something that you need or should have , to be deficient in something. I lack nothing where a deity is concerned I just do not believe in god or gods. Look it up and see what you think , sorry to be so anal but it's like a finger in my eye when I see it used like this.
@denisasitis "...used in this context imply's that you are missing something that you need or should have..."
Semantically? Yes, you are correct. "Does not believe in a deity," is a more favorable phrase.
That is why skepticism is a fundamental tenant of agnostics and atheists. Rather than a deficit, skepticism simply charges that such things require evidence for support. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." - Carl Sagan.
As much as you atheists try to defend what ever you think is right just think about this. Imagine there is a God, do you really think God would make you smarter than him... this being created you and you think that with just your "science" that you can just prove he doesn't exist. By you saying that there is no God just proves your feeble mind cannot comprehend something that has no beginning or end.
@silentassasin1 "God" supposedly created man in his image, so yeah.
"By you saying that there is no God just proves your feeble mind cannot comprehend something that has no beginning or end."
No, I'm saying that I see no reason to belive in some kind of cruel overlord that dictates our every move, imposes aged beliefs and immoral reasoning that's not fit for our modern world. God is like Santa Claus, you outgrow him.
@silentassasin1 Actually all that you are proving is that you have the feeble mind, not atheists. Atheists are the smartest people of society, look it up. The more intelligent a person is the more likely they will be an atheist. Science and religion are 2 totally opposed concepts. One has an answer that has no facts or evidence to support it(religion), the other uses only facts & evidence to find the answer without hearsay of faith(science).
Answer to your question is simple. We believe things that have evidence for it's existence. If there is no evidence, we don't accept any extraordinary claim. That applies to UFO's Bigfoot, leprechauns, ESP, magic, monsters, out of body seeing, clairvoyance, and religious claims. Period. We don't accept threats, fear, peer pressure or appeals to eternal hell when evaluating reality. This is how you reject snake oil in favor of vaccines.
By the way, thank you for leaving this an open forum.
Most Theists deny free and open response to thier videos by requiring that comments be approved, and you havent done this.
Religion and Polotics, my favord conversation...
This debate is a funny thing when you think about it, either way you go as a human being, Theist/Atheist, it's all going to be sorted out for us when we draw our last breath's.
How you approach, and live your life in the interim is the point of all this.
You begin the video with a whole list of incorrect assumptions regarding faith, (and like alot of theists) you attempt to corner the conversation using this flawed logic.
Im terribly sorry that you can't grasp the idea of non-belief as not being "faith based", but that is egsactly what it is not.
It is the lack of unsupported "faith" thats guides a rational mind, and the bases for what the Atheist community is trying to accomplish by shrugging off the endlessly grinding ignorance of religion.
As a (well, I guess I consider myself Atheist), I do appreciate this guy actually trying to come at this with a relatively open mind.
But come on now... It's obvious that this topic causes him discomfort. Why even ask it? This debate never goes down smoothly. It's two radically different ideologies.
The religion of Christianity had been carefully constructed to control the minds of people, than when people feel they are truly awakened, the deeper they down the rabbit hole the more drunk and consciousness-less they become, where they think they are aware but have sunken deeper into the the matrix , that pulling the plug out would harm their minds, such as when people refere to ETs as demons and monsters that wish to exploit humanity, where actually they created humanity.
Athiest is not religion or Faith , but understanding how things and stuff works and exists through science, however a lot of information has been hidden from you by your governments and its secret angendas , that when the information comes out the worry is would your mind crash because it is limited to believe nonsense written in a book which is tiny compared to the entire internet of information. The book that you mindlessly follow was written by people like yourself..not god.
simple how can one supernatural being know avery single huhuman being/sentient being/intelligent life form on every single planet at once through entire infinity of the cosmos, that extends through universes and multiverses and so on.. Atheism is not a faith or belief but an understanding of things.
Atheism can be seen as to believe in the method of science. That everything that can be proven with science is fact and that everything that can't doesn't exist. And by these measures I KNOW that supernatural things (including gods) doesn't not exist because they can't be proven my the method of science. The existence of a god can't be tested by scientific methods, which renders it disqualified as a scientific hypothesis. I could continue but, you get the point...
It's a shame this seemingly confident and articulate man is actually so stupid. Mr Ministry it is because you have never viewed or even tried to view (judging by your ranting presentation style) life from the 'the other side'. You believe what you will in spite of evidence to the contrary. It's just what you've always done.

Completly agrees with you , i'm a phanteist , i believe that the whole universe , the whole 11 dimensions are god himself. Otherwise i do not believe in christian / ebraic / mulsim god , that is just a product of fear for the unknown. We are the only species that know to die , so we create nice storyes to calm down that fear (english is not my 1st language , dun hate me xD)

I'm amazed on how the man on this video pretend to be educated and cult while he clearly overlooked the "burden of proof" (onus probandi), which is like this (example): If someone accuse me of being an offender, that person must proof it, otherwise I'm innocent.
The obligation to prove something is for whom AFFIRM it, and NOT for the ones who deny it! It doesn't make sense trying to prove the no-existence of something, whatever it is. (English is my second language, sorry if it isn't clear).
i don't believe in god,............ atheist, i don't like the title i feel like that's just a religion with different beliefs so fuck it. and to all you people who believe in the "magician" don't its all bullshit god was made up along time ago so people who were going through a rough time had something to grasp onto.its bullshit hes fake. and if somehow, just some fucking how "it" is real then fuck "it" were has "it" bin when shit has happened if you ask me that sure is some god you pray to....
As an atheist my only belief is a rejection of all beliefs that have been presented to me because of a lack of evidence. There can be no evidence to support such a belief because it is not a belief simply a rejection of belief.
@arf900 While the Big Bang Theory has not been proven, there is evidence that it happened. Namely cosmic background wave radiation and the continuing expansion of the universe that indicates the bodies originated at a single point.
There is certainly room for doubt, but I am inclined to say it is very probable the big bang occurred.
You stated before that God's existence can be also proven through historical and moral arguments. I remember two debates where Dr. William Lane Craig stands for these arguments. Looks like I can't post the links here, but if you're interested, look for "Craig vs. Kagan" (morality) and "Craig vs. Ehrman", (historical Christ).
"If truth leads to God would you accept that answer or seek any other answer?"
"Spinoza and Einstein more plausible based off what?"
It's more likely that a transcendent, eternal and supernatural being, that hasn't been found til the present day, created the universe, than the universe itself is God? According to Spinoza's Ethics, Nature itself is God.
"I am obly arguing for God not a specific one at the moment I guess you agree with my position?"
In the present moment, I'm an agnostic. I think I can't decide my position right now.
"Which metaphysical argument defending God has been proven wrong and by whom?"
In "The Great Demotions", Carl Sagan advocates against some of the points treated as evidences for God's existence. The points go from the Earth's centrality argument to the Fine-tuning argument (that Sagan treats as "Weak Anthropic Principle").
In my opinion this video falls for a fallacy. Atheism is the lack of faith in one or more gods. So by it's very definition atheism is not a faith, but the absense of all faith. Like sexual vs. asexual. I'm an agnostic but I'm beginning to lean towards the possibility of one or more multi dimensional beings that we would consider as gods if we encountered them. Though I see no point in worshipping them or supporting a church institution in their name.
i dont discourage other religions, in fact my boyfriend is Christian.
You asked us Atheists to prove what we belive in, but how can you get proof if you believe something doesn't exist. You cant find anything that isn't there!
.___. How come we can't just agree to disagree and be happy? I mean seriously? What gives you the right to tell others what to believe or to tell others what they believe is wrong? If you believe in God, awesome. If you don't, that fantastic. Stop fighting over such idiotic subjects as this. No, none of us KNOW FOR A FACT God exists or not, but it give some people hope. Just because it makes your panties go in a knot doesn't mean you fight with everyone about it. Just walk away and eat some cake
@mechanicmike69 A primitive answer or the primal cause? See, if you believe that everything that begins to exist has a cause, has a reason to be, you have to ask yourself: can we investigate this mysterious cause? Is flesh and electricity the principle of life and consciousness? How can an irracional cause produce intelligent beings?
Can atheists provide a good answer? The best answer I heard was "metaphysics is an invention of grammar", but I can't say i'm convinced.
@VladimirVrasanko An atheist doesn't need an answer beyond our understanding nor does an atheist make up an answer to explain the unknown, that's what cavemen did. Anytime a caveman couldn't figure out how something cam about, they attributed it to an imaginary invisible being. Primitive primate superstitions, that's what god is.
@VladimirVrasanko God is a myth and doesn't even deserve to be asserted as an answer because there is no proof or evidence r facts for it to be asserted.
@hakkai999 really define religion?? A group of people drawn together on a common belief - non-profit status and rights protected - ding, ding, ding - a religion.
@gurucarcar is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe. They tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle from their ideas about the cosmos and human nature.
@gurucarcar Are we organized? No. We do not have a defined leadership, or organization. Thats like saying anonymous is a religion because they seem coherent enough to exist.
@gurucarcar God is a myth and nothing you have typed changes that FACT. In fact typing wrong definitions of words makes you look even more ignorant.
Atheism is a religion like abstinence is a sexual position. But a delusional fucking ignorant theist doesn't care much about facts or evidence, if they did they would believe in their myths and superstitions as reality.
1) Agnostic Atheism is the common mind set held by most of your so called "Atheists." This is not a faith but a hypothesis based on the current information we have stating, that although a god might not exist the chance of it being the god you worship or the god others worship currently, is highly unlikely. Atheist who say there is no god period have no proof, although there is proof refuting your god.
2) Your statement declares there is a god. The burden of proof falls onto you then not me.
You have the burden of proof, good sir. It's like a court case: the defense must lie down no proof, only doubt. YOU are trying to prove that there is a god (while the natural stance is that there is no god), therefore you must prove it.
There are two kinds of Atheists, weak and strong. Strong Atheists believe that there is PROOF that there is no god. Weak Atheists believe that there in NO proof showing that there is or is not a god of some sort.
I believe you are an idiot. The proof to support my belief that you are an idiot is contained entirely in this video. It is further supported by your other videos.
Seen so often - religious people twist words when arguing, saying "you Believe there's no god" instead of actually phrasing it correctly "you don't believe in god" - one phrase requires belief, the other doesn't - Atheist "don't believe there's a god", they don't "believe there's no god"
@Stabiiliize Huh? YouTube lets you post because they want to, not because they're forced to by law. When I say you don't have a legal right, I don't mean you're prohibited, I mean you cannot go to court if they stop you. You're posting at their discretion.
I'm not pulling bullshit out of my ass. I have a juris doctorate. I studied con law with Larry Tribe. And you have no clue what you're talking about.
Free speech rights apply to government censorship. Not YouTube.
There are several Lamborghinis parked in your garage and your driveway right now, go look. What there wasn't any? Why? You can't see them? Well I am here to tell you that indeed they are there and if you don't believe me it must be cuz of your lack of faith that they aren't there. Believe in the Lamborginis so they will present themselves to you and then you can drive them. Not believing something ain't there is a faith and so is atheism<--Christian logic in a nutshell.
Atheism is a belief as much as not collecting stamps is a hobby.
You think by postulating that atheism was a belief, too, you can place as much burden of proof on atheists as there is on believers. Wrong. The burden of proof is always on the one who claims that something exists. And while most atheists acknowledge the fact that they can't proof the non-existence of a god (or Santa Claus), most believers try to proof their god with a 2K year old book they claim was dictated by that very god. FAIL
Atheism is Skepticism and is not a faith. Most Atheists will not say there is absolutely no God, but we demand proof from an outside source other than the Bible. We are open to any evidence that is observable and repeatable. Thus far there is no proof that the supernatural exists, let alone God...thus there is no reason to believe in God.
I don't believe there's not a god. I just don't believe there is one either.
Mybe there's a god. Maybe there's a unicorn floating above my head but it's invisible and made out of air. But There's no reason to belive there is a unicorn. and there is no reason to believe there is a god.
Why do you believe there are not unicorns? what proof do you have?? how do you know a group of fairies are not floating above your head right now which are undetectable to all senses. You do believe that there are not fairies above your head, right? well according to you that's a belief which must be proved so prove it. If I asked you to prove why unicorns do not exist you would say 'well they are just some made up nonsense and there is no proof for them' the exact same applies to God.
@TReoS96 The bible says there are unicorns, dragons and other creatures of fantasy and then get pissed when we say the bible is a book of fairy tales. You're not going to get anywhere when people object to logic and surrender their minds to foolishness.
@TReoS96 This just perfectly shows how close minded people can be. The willingness to believe in something they have never seen yet denounce something else they have no proof of. I had this same conversation with another commenter and his/her response was simply "there is empirical evidence that they do not", If we have to prove something does not exist then i call into question every creature that someone can dream up.
@TReoS96 Because unicorns and fairies are terrenal, you know, on our planet, if we´ve seen cells in the microscope (IE microscopic), know that there are atoms, molecules, etc. that can´t be seen, how could there posibly be beings of a seeable size and we´ve not discovered them yet? For the millions of years this Earth has supposed to be arround, duh. And God is supposed to be OUT OF THIS WORLD, and we have yet to discover the uncharted regions of our Solar Sistem planets dont you think?
i wish this guy would answer this. Considering in the first 30 sec of his video he states that he grew up with christianity, does that mean you were brought up in a christian family and therefore didnt get to chose your religion? yet you are so hardcore with it?
Evidence is what you can basically be shown to EVERYONE, is NOT biased, has facts behind the ENTIRE thing (if it were a book, EVERYTHING in it would have to be proven TRUE, EVERY last thing)...
Atheism is a LACK of faith. We do not believe in your god, or any other god...you're an atheist, everyone is an atheist to SOME god, we just go one god further. Do you lack belief in Hindu gods, or do you believe they don't exist?
@Cresitan258 well put, very well put. People that believe in christianity (for simplicity's sake) only believe in their god. Therefore all 257684028475 (lol) religions out there could make the claim that christians are atheist for not believing in their respective god
@Apologist68 There is something feeble and a little contemptible about a man who cannot face the perils of life without the help of comfortable myths. Almost inevitably some part of him is aware that they are myths and that he believes them only because they are comforting. But he dare not face this thought! Moreover, since he is aware, however dimly, that his opinions are not rational, he becomes furious when they are disputed. You ignorant delusional bastard.
what is the proof and evidence that you have that werewolves and vampires don't exist? I mean fuck, there are books written about them and movies made and ancient lore, so does that mean that they exist?
Yeah guys, you're right, there's an invisible man in the sky, who watches everything you do, is everywhere with you and not only you. Okay, so he has a list of ten things you shouldn't do, and if you dare to do one or more of them, he sends you in a hole filled with fire, for you to suffer, cry, scream, burn for eternity. But he loves you :D
All anyone has to do is see an animal react to noise or movement in the woods and watch it assume something is there, something invisible to be wary of. Some unusual invisible force that must be respected and scared of, and how easily this assumption can be extrapolated into an all mighty invisible being at the cause of all things unknown by sentient beings.
@Apologist68 <--- this fucking moron is now claiming to know for certain that the universe is not eternal and thinks it's a point in proving that his god exists. He even claims his god is eternal, but he can't even prove it exists. So how does he know the properties of a god he can't prove exists? He can't. He's a delusional fucking theist moron. Makes it up as he goes along, just like the caveman that came up with a god to explain their ignorance.
I've explained over & over how God's attributes are logically deduced from what we observe and you have yet to refute any of this or offer a better explanation than a Personal Agent.
The evidence is clearly in favor of the Universe having a beginning so the burden of proof is on you to show us why this is not true since your idea stands in opposition to science not mine in this regard.
You have not answered any of my questions other than claiming ignorance.
@Apologist68 There is no logic that leads an intelligent or rational man to come to the conclusion of an invisible being, being responsible for anything.
God is a myth and you still have typed NOTHING to change that FACT.
Go Fish...
The evidence points to there not being an invisible being...Only primitive primates would think such a ridiculous notion.
@Apologist68 "The evidence is clearly in favor of the Universe having a beginning so the burden of proof is on you"
You still haven't told us by what principle you insist the universe and its constituents to be merely co-eternal with the beginning of its expansion. Explain to us, in other words, why a balloon can't pre-exist its expansion. Simply insisting it can't isn't proof, and that burden of proof continues to rest on you for making this positive claim.
@Apologist68 God is a myth and therefore not responsible for anything in our universe.
All god/s die with the cultures that created them. God is man made. God is a pathetic primitive answer from ignorance.
You can't even prove a god from any religion even exists, so don't go on and claim you know what a god values, and don't go on and claim you know what a god has done, and don't go on and claim you know what a god will do, and don't go on and claim you know the properties of that god.
Using the original sin philosophy, Jesus has already forgiven me for wanting to see god and demanding proof. So why not ask for it? I also would like a clear, and concise, answer not open to interpretation. (Modern man has god speak to him= Schizophrenic.) (God says hey dude's I exist, and the entire world hears it = Oww, crud God does exist)
(My Opinion)The proof god doesn't exist for me is in the logic. 2,000 years Jesus, vs. Pagan who is much older, vs. Muslim who is much younger, vs. every other religion. Death seems to be the only proof to validate any of these religions. To me an omnipotent being would not have created so much confusion, and(so many ways to die before picking the right one in time) Secondly I do not find it to be selfish to ask to see the "burning bush" for a little eye witness proof. God hasn't appeared on tv
In order to create society we willingly give up the power of each man being a god unto himself (Anarchy otherwise). In order to be civil to each other we teach respect, tolerance and peace. In order to safeguard peace we prepare for the unknown (War). In order to survive we procreate. We gain everlasting life by staying in the memories of loved ones, and making sure our works on earth benefit our fellow man to create a ripple effect. Atheism is understanding yourself and remaining humble on earth
If we all agree on our equality, cultures could enmesh and become one, we as a planet would be much better off, then we could band together to curb population growth, control resources more efficiently, and increase everyones quality of life. I would much rather create a heaven than hope to go to one. I would much rather take responsibility for my actions than to allow a messiah to absolve them for me. My mistakes are my actions, not an original sin. They are my choices. And my problem to fix.
@snoookie456 You do understand that this moronic teenybopper issued a "challenge: in this video, don't you? The usual lame-brained admission of intellectual bankruptcy one hears so often from antagonistic religious ignoramuses, the demand that people who don't subscribe to their lame-brained beliefs "prove" they're not true... as if the lack of proof that they are wrong makes them right.
It is high-order stupidity, and the last refuge of the theistic dolt stranded on the sandbar of ancient crap
I am not speaking from a standpoint of hate. My greatest argument as a person who does not believe in religion is a simple one. If all humans banded together and agreed that when we die the show is over, and their is no after life, would we not place a higher value on human life? A Baptist vs. a muslim = two brothers squabbling to the death never achieving a middle ground, all religions are like that, all exclude certain groups of people from others (Deny heaven to some, etc...)
The evidence of my belief's are accepting term's like "magic" and using those labels to file what I cannot explain. Where did the universe come from? I don't know I do however know that science cannot begin to answer that question, their is no evidence of a big bang that is why it is called a theory! Religion is also a theory, your proof is your belief or "Faith" I can accept that you may be right can you accept the truth that you cannot be definitively positive about your's? Die and find out.
There's lot of evidence for the big bang. Background radiation, the current ongoing expansion of the universe as evidenced by the red shift of light coming from distant galaxies. A theory in science isn't a "guess" like it is colloquially. It's a testable, falsifiable explanation for observations in the real world which has predictable power concerning the phenomena it describes, and is not accepted on faith, but evidence.
No religion I'm aware of qualifies as a theory, since they're not testable (they retreat further from testability with virtually every scientific discovery ever made), they're not based on evidence, and they don't lead to applicable knowledge with practical results. They qualify at best as hypotheses, but of the worse kind: unevidenced and purely speculative. Children call this process "let's pretend".
Atheism is not a faith. There is no book of fairy tales like the Bible or the Koran, and we do not congregate in churches or mosques daily, weekly or on 'special' occassions. We do not eat little wafers or dress up in robes with pointy hats and wear excessive jewellery.
Not all Atheists have the same view of where life began. The one thing we agree on is that there is no Flying Spaghetti Monster in the sky looking over Billions or idiots and their daily mundane lives.
By the way, if you're really reading this, one more thing I really hope you would understand - God is a case of panphobia... God is the manifestation of people's fear of the unknown. Someone who is ignorant enough to say he knows something, just because he gave it a name and purpose. Although I'm against atheists too in this discussion, they win... because what they do not know - they can accept. You can't...
Ooooh answer me this atheists, answer me that christians... just fuckin stop. "A question that will put an end to atheism", "A question religious people fear"... The only thing I like about your comments in this vid is that you would delete faithful people's comments. I really liked that, because you too know what would happen if you didn't delete one side of the discussion :D It's fuckin pointless... have your faith in God and let me burn in hell. I pratise dudeism by the way.
Faith doesn't need to be proven... their mistake as atheists was to tell you that and your mistake as a religious person is to believe that is true... Faith is not knowing something exists. It is a belief!
I respect everyone who has a plausible belief. I mean really - someone who is a true christian - someone who has hopes for humanity, a philanthropist, a man who truly practices what Jesus preached... most of christians aren't like that. They're too busy measuring dicks with atheists :D
If we check the whole of the earth, and he wasn't found, then he doesn't exist. It's just difficult, because you have to search the whole earth. The problem is exhausting the search, and thus providing evidence of absence - but it's not impossible. For science, pure existence assumes existence in the universe, but proving something does not exist (in the whole universe) is an exceptional challenge since it seems the universe is infinite in nature.
We do that by checking where all possible solutions could be, and if they aren't there, they don't exist. This requires having thorough definitions, so those locations can be defined and examined. Likewise, in science, we look at all possible places where something could be, if it's not there then it does not exist. For example, santa claus by definition exists at least somewhere on earth.
If i can prove the positive (building HAS fallen down) then I've proven it's complimentary negative (building is NOT standing). 'You can't prove a negative' is wrong, and it's not a law of logic, that statement is a fallacy. If A, then B. Not B, therefore not A.
The confusion comes because people are trying to say 'you cant prove something does not exist'. Funny enough, that's wrong too - it's just difficult. In mathematics, we prove solutions do not exist all the time.
FYI, if one makes a claim that a building has fallen down, and you go an check that the building indeed hasn't fallen down, you've in essence proven a negative. positive = negative of a negative, given there is no greyscale. eg, building is standing = building is not not standing, given it's either standing or not. Also consider, building has fallen down = building is not standing.
in your mind, help to justify your own faith, and maybe others'. I think a psychology course would be good for you, to do some self reflection and unveil some of the psychology behind your deistic believes and comfort in believing your life has purpose and that your choices are made for you. Perhaps I'm wrong.
Atheists are comfortable with this question. Theists are the one's making claims of existence, and so the burden of proof is on you.
I believe you think it's uncomfortable for them, because the complementary question is uncomfortable for you, and you're psychologically projecting. As a result, you think asking the question on an internet video forum would cause some controversy, and your self righteous denial of the comments made below will,
Proving something is false is simple through implicational logic, and this is what gives an atheist confidence. I think an atheist would also expect a theist would outright deny any arguments made against their own believes because of: general ignorance, an unwillingness to except new ideas, unwillingness to accept the beliefs that have consumed their time are fallacious, unwillingness to accept the implications of the science that goes against their religious beliefs, etc…
There are atheists who simply believe there is no justified evidence for the existence of god. They understand that doesn't imply god does not exist, but they don't believe in any one god because it isn't convincing, logically or scientifically. However, there are atheists who strictly believe no god exists. These atheists are put in the same category for social reasons.
To outline all the arguments for falsifying the predictions made by the existence of a deity takes a large portion of an atheist's life, and for that I'll refer you to the internet. If you argue there are no testable predictions from a theist's hypothesis, that's because your definition of a deity is too vague, and thus has no useful meaning and no evidential weight to condone believing in it.
How is any of this okay? Who would stand up and be counted with these activities, or the Inquisition, the Crusades, the burning of witches, the Catholic Church's collusion with the Nazis, not to mention the kid-fucking.
It's time this nightmarish evil cult was done away with.
I think for most atheists, they've analyzed every prediction (most importantly the fundamental one's about a deity), and have come to the conclusion the predictions are false by: logic, scientific evidence, and universal consistency (which exposes absurdities compared to what we know about reality). Any claim to 'proof' or evidence of the existence of a deity is typically refuted by analysis of: biased measurements, psychological explanations, poor experimental methods, etc
If A => B, and B is false, then by contrapositive, A is false.
If a hypothesis implies predictions, and the predictions are found to be false, then the hypothesis is false.
To provide evidence for atheism, you could look at all the predictions made by theists and/or assuming a deity exists, and show they are false. The method used is called building evidence of absence.
And for the record, I have read the Bible, cover to cover. And it is a horrorshow.
Especially the old testament. God is a vain, capricious, sadistic sorehead who may well be the most malevolent, evil, murderous character ever conceived by people. You know, HE KILLS ABSOLTELY EVERONE and EVERYTHING in the Noahic flood except the people and animals on ONE BOAT.
He tells Abraham to murder Isaac, his son, to demonstrate his fealty, He advocates genocide, stoning, slavery and rape.
Atheism is not about denying God's existence, it is about opposing the liars and fools who claim their religion is true, and who tirelessly try to force it on the world. The legacy of murder and torture and genocide and oppression and folly and assaults on freedom and liberty and scientific progress which religion has to its credit is the greatest crime against humanity ever perpetrated.
This silly little adolescent nitwit has been brainwashed, and he now wants to pass it on, and I object.
I am so sick and tired of the assault upon reason and freedom and sense that the religious tirelessly wage. Evolution is a powerful, predictive, solid theory with MILLONS of pieces of evidence to back it up, and christianity is a silly bunch of bullshit with NO EVIDENCE to back it up.
The scientific method is the greatest human artifact, and it allows us to survive, and yet these religious types continually assault it.
The person pointing out that my statement that "when you die nothing happens" is unproven and unprovable is correct. I am not an expert on life after death. However, there is no evidence such a state exists, and everything we know about consciousness tells us it can not and does not exist outside of an oxygen-perfused brain.
And i also acknowledge that i should be nice to people, and believe it or not, i am, for the most part. (cont'd)
@buttercakes135 how could you believe in superstitious nonsense? come on listen to yourself. Your quoting things from the bible as your argument, and speak of it as if it were already true.
These religious dipshits always challenge people to prove they are wrong. They are just fucking stupid, and that is that. The impossibility of proving a negative is critical thinking 101, and if they can't grasp that, they can't grasp anything.
Hey "Mr. Ministry", prove he Easter bunny doesn't exist. Prove that there is no Loch Ness monster. I realize that intellectual laziness and ignorance are prerequisites for religious belief, but even a retard should be able to grasp this.
@Congruesome You should be nice to other people and respect their beliefs as well. Your ignorance shines like a star in the sky, by belittling that which you do not know. Stating, "They are just fucking stupid". Is a meager opinion, not supported by any facts, and you sum up an entire 'sect' of people in one go. That is bad math as you should know, there are many facets to the Human race. That's quite a hole in your critical thinking. You should take your own advice, if you can grasp it.
Prove that something does not exist? Hmm.... ok. God has never been found, photographed, video taped, visited me, heaven is not up above the clouds (we checked), hell is not below us (checked that too), science has proved the earth is older that the bible says and every "miracle" is easily explained and didn't happen cause god willed it. BUT.. if you don't except that for an answer then perhaps im wrong and in that case i will assume you believe in unicorns. Can you prove they don't exist...?
@tkchaos2000 I can prove Unicorns do not exist. There is emperical evidence that they do not and cannot exist. Never in recorded history of men do they mention unicorns other than in myths and stories. God has been found. Many have found God. God is love and light. You seem to be not looking, and if you close your mind by putting blind faith into 21st century science, you may never find your answers. Science cannot explain what or where matter comes from. It takes faith to believe in Physics.
@Brotramel So we're going on the argument that unicorns do not exist because MAN has not found one? Interesting considering the vast number of galaxies that we have not explored yet. God is not love, that is a chemical reaction in your brain, nor is he light, that is called the sun. God has only been "found" in the same way that unicorns have been and that is through text, stories and paintings. You failed to prove unicorns do not exist. Saying "they do not" IS not evidence lol
Nothing happens when you die. Grow up. This Bronze Age Biblical bullshit is not accurate, even in its historical claims. There is NO EVIDENCE outside the Bible of Israelites being slaves in Egypt, of anyone matching the description or having the name Jesus Christ (or Joshua), or for that matter of talking snakes, burning bushes, parting seas, guys living for a week inside "big fish", of miraculous healing or the sun stopping in the sky, or any of those silly myths.
@Congruesome You are an expert on life after death?? You just claimed that you know for a fact that when Human beings die, nothing happens. If you disbelieve in what you hate so much, then why do you put so much negative thought and energy into disproving something that is 'Bronze Age Biblical Bullshit?" You my friend need to grow up, spiritually, find who you are and then reasses what you think you claim to know. You speak as if you are an expert of the COSMOS, please link us to your website.
@Brotramel "why do you put so much negative thought and energy into disproving something that is 'Bronze Age Biblical Bullshit?""
So people like you won't have any basis for insisting your otherwise-unchallenged views are so valid they deserve admission to the legal systems, legislatures, executive decisions, and educational policies that affect the lives of people who don't accept them as real.
It's the inability to foresee these kinds of problems that makes me think god had nothing to do with the Bible...or any religious texts for that matter. I also find it interesting that god would create us, give us free will, and then provide us with a set of rules to follow--which are almost completely contradictory to our natural urges--and then threaten us with eternal punishment if we refuse to follow them. I just don't believe that some all knowing, omnipotent being would do that.
why all the dislikes? likes and comments arent disabled... he is making response videos to the comments that are most interesting....never once insulted anyone....

If physics prives anything its that the world can be explained through math and science.
icebane556 57 minutes ago
Also, as atheists we do not believe in the 'non-belief' in god. We just simply gain knowledge through verifiable testing and evidence, and shape the view of our physical universe based on those. There is no point of contemplating what 'could' be out there as that leaves us with infinite possibilities. E.g: it is physically possible that we are a computer simulation. However, we did not find any observable evidence for it. thinking about what 'might' be out there is philosophy and not science
1MadVirus1 1 hour ago
When we use reason to verify truths we generally must accept the most simple explanation for those truths. Since science can explain the creation of the universe and living things, it seems silly to say that they originated from an invisible omniscient and omnipotent being that has since not shown any evidence of his or her existence. Furthermore the suffering of innocent, god-loving people seems difficult to factor for when considering a supposedly loving judeo-christian god.
TheGentilea 1 hour ago
This is so ridiculous that I actually thought it was satirical at first.
00:34 - Your evidence needs to be provable, observable and repeatable. You cannot just simply make up your own version of how things work without any experimentation and claim it to be a fact.
00:54 - Atheism is living in world based on evidence and our knowledge. It does not require 'faith'. Then you, again, pull out a statement out of thin air and present it as a fact.

fail "faith" is 1. belief that is not based on proof, 2. confidence or trust in a person or thing. there is no "thing" that Atheists believe (it being a rejection of a belief) hence atheism itself it is not a faith.
why must Christians be so stupid? can anybody answer me that?

kaipies 4 hours ago
Atheism IS a lack of belief in any gods, goddesses or minor deities. If you require "evidence" that such supernatural beings do not operate on an individual level, then let's do an experiment.
I just prayed for $1000 (a minor sum) from Yahweh. Tomorrow I will not pray for money as a control. Which day will I receive the money?
Oh, that doesn't necessarily prove Yahweh does not exist, you say? Well, then Yahweh's existence is not falsifiable therefore there is no "proof" supporting his existence.
Greyclouds40 4 hours ago 6
@Greyclouds40 I point this out only because it was pointed out to me and I had to agree the person that called it to my attention was indeed correct, "A lack of belief", used in this context imply's that you are missing something that you need or should have , to be deficient in something. I lack nothing where a deity is concerned I just do not believe in god or gods. Look it up and see what you think , sorry to be so anal but it's like a finger in my eye when I see it used like this.
denisasitis 2 hours ago
@denisasitis "...used in this context imply's that you are missing something that you need or should have..."
Semantically? Yes, you are correct. "Does not believe in a deity," is a more favorable phrase.
That is why skepticism is a fundamental tenant of agnostics and atheists. Rather than a deficit, skepticism simply charges that such things require evidence for support. "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence." - Carl Sagan.
Greyclouds40 14 minutes ago
As much as you atheists try to defend what ever you think is right just think about this. Imagine there is a God, do you really think God would make you smarter than him... this being created you and you think that with just your "science" that you can just prove he doesn't exist. By you saying that there is no God just proves your feeble mind cannot comprehend something that has no beginning or end.
silentassasin1 5 hours ago
@silentassasin1 "God" supposedly created man in his image, so yeah.
"By you saying that there is no God just proves your feeble mind cannot comprehend something that has no beginning or end."
No, I'm saying that I see no reason to belive in some kind of cruel overlord that dictates our every move, imposes aged beliefs and immoral reasoning that's not fit for our modern world. God is like Santa Claus, you outgrow him.
ddenns 4 hours ago
@silentassasin1 Actually all that you are proving is that you have the feeble mind, not atheists. Atheists are the smartest people of society, look it up. The more intelligent a person is the more likely they will be an atheist. Science and religion are 2 totally opposed concepts. One has an answer that has no facts or evidence to support it(religion), the other uses only facts & evidence to find the answer without hearsay of faith(science).
mechanicmike69 3 hours ago
Answer to your question is simple. We believe things that have evidence for it's existence. If there is no evidence, we don't accept any extraordinary claim. That applies to UFO's Bigfoot, leprechauns, ESP, magic, monsters, out of body seeing, clairvoyance, and religious claims. Period. We don't accept threats, fear, peer pressure or appeals to eternal hell when evaluating reality. This is how you reject snake oil in favor of vaccines.

It is the lack of unsupported "faith" thats guides a rational mind, and the bases for what the Atheist community is trying to accomplish by shrugging off the endlessly grinding ignorance of religion.

The religion of Christianity had been carefully constructed to control the minds of people, than when people feel they are truly awakened, the deeper they down the rabbit hole the more drunk and consciousness-less they become, where they think they are aware but have sunken deeper into the the matrix , that pulling the plug out would harm their minds, such as when people refere to ETs as demons and monsters that wish to exploit humanity, where actually they created humanity.

zanaelf 7 hours ago
Atheism can be seen as to believe in the method of science. That everything that can be proven with science is fact and that everything that can't doesn't exist. And by these measures I KNOW that supernatural things (including gods) doesn't not exist because they can't be proven my the method of science. The existence of a god can't be tested by scientific methods, which renders it disqualified as a scientific hypothesis. I could continue but, you get the point...

@arf900 While the Big Bang Theory has not been proven, there is evidence that it happened. Namely cosmic background wave radiation and the continuing expansion of the universe that indicates the bodies originated at a single point.

@Apologist68
Of course I would.
gilsonunes 15 hours ago
@Apologist68
I think I can't decide my position right now.
gilsonunes 15 hours ago
@Apologist68
I'll try to be succinct.
"Which metaphysical argument defending God has been proven wrong and by whom?"
In "The Great Demotions", Carl Sagan advocates against some of the points treated as evidences for God's existence. The points go from the Earth's centrality argument to the Fine-tuning argument (that Sagan treats as "Weak Anthropic Principle").
gilsonunes 15 hours ago
In my opinion this video falls for a fallacy. Atheism is the lack of faith in one or more gods. So by it's very definition atheism is not a faith, but the absense of all faith. Like sexual vs. asexual. I'm an agnostic but I'm beginning to lean towards the possibility of one or more multi dimensional beings that we would consider as gods if we encountered them. Though I see no point in worshipping them or supporting a church institution in their name.

gurucarcar 15 hours ago
@gurucarcar is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values. Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe. They tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle from their ideas about the cosmos and human nature.

JFKdied2 20 hours ago
You have the burden of proof, good sir. It's like a court case: the defense must lie down no proof, only doubt. YOU are trying to prove that there is a god (while the natural stance is that there is no god), therefore you must prove it.

FAIL
sylvia1971de 23 hours ago
Atheism is Skepticism and is not a faith. Most Atheists will not say there is absolutely no God, but we demand proof from an outside source other than the Bible. We are open to any evidence that is observable and repeatable. Thus far there is no proof that the supernatural exists, let alone God...thus there is no reason to believe in God.
Faith in the unseen is gullibility, not virtue.

If I asked you to prove why unicorns do not exist you would say 'well they are just some made up nonsense and there is no proof for them' the exact same applies to God.

9000Z0009 1 day ago
10.

9000Z0009 1 day ago
8.

Atheists are comfortable with this question. Theists are the one's making claims of existence, and so the burden of proof is on you.

9000Z0009 1 day ago
4.

3.

9000Z0009 1 day ago
1.

I also find it interesting that god would create us, give us free will, and then provide us with a set of rules to follow--which are almost completely contradictory to our natural urges--and then threaten us with eternal punishment if we refuse to follow them. I just don't believe that some all knowing, omnipotent being would do that.
