The Sheriff has sold this story as a drunken woman. The arresting cop & the ones that stripped her said she was VERY drunk, one even said she was worst he had EVER seen.

There are a couple problems with this story.

FIRST witnesses at the scene said she was not that drunk, if at all.

Except the SECOND thing wrong with that story is that Steffey was stripped at 9:30pm.

1 1/2 hr later the second shift came in and they claim they could detect NOTHING of alcohol about her!

Uh, this is actually the SIXTH woman to come forward. Steffey, plus four others...and now this one...and who knows how many came forward from the billboard the lawyers put up.

I don't think the license would have made any difference. There are problems at the Stark County jail. Montgomery county handles THREE TIMES the people Stark County does and they had NO incidents.

This was posted back in May, since then I have found out even more about this case.

And the REALLY shocking thing is how many people are involved in covering this up. Even one of the papers printed something they KNEW were lies.

When I called them on it they said to print up a rebuttal and that they would print it.

It's not shocking to me because there is a tighter bond between police officers than between something as broad as a gender. And that's mostly a bad thing, because they tend to do whatever is necessary to protect each other, often when they are morally or legally obligated to stand up against them.

Its easy to see WHY they weren't found guilty, if you see how the "investigation" was done.

For instance the investigator didn't go GET the evidence, what evidence they got was GIVEN to them by the sheriff's dept.

If anyone gets in trouble, just ask if you can give the cops whatever evidence you want...must be nice to control all the evidence against you!

Plus the BCI spellchecked the sheriff's reports and reported them as FACT, even as they caught the cops in LIES!

WHY Swanson was re-elected is beyond me, all I can guess is voters don't have a clue.

As for the FBI, don't hold your breath, from what I have found their "investigation" isn't going to be any better than the BCI's.

As a matter of fact the local FBI has given Swanson awards of some kind in the past, so you can bet he has some leverage with them too.

Steffey has settled with the county a couple days ago, but is still suing the jail contractors.

The paper reported that the county had already put aside their $100,000 portion of the settlement that the insurance wouldn't cover.

GEE, WHY would you put it aside on a case you said had no merit, and that the police were innocent in?!?!?

These scum knew they could NEVER take this case to court, too many lies & poor excuses for the way things were handled.

I have video posted of a officer who was NOT involved in stripping Steffey, but video shows him heading down the hall toward her cell.....

BUT THEN the video loses one of its time stamps, and then blurrs, and when it comes back on the hall is empty, and ONE SECOND has passed by on the clock!!

Got some more documents from the sheriff's office.

Of course I didn't get everything I asked for.

Got a copy of the BCI investigation.

The sheriff has always maintained that Steffey was ASKED to remove her cloths and refused.

According to the BCI document Steffey was NEVER asked to remove her cloths!

This is from THEIR OWN REPORTS!!

So how the hell is the sheriff still selling this LIE?!!??!

This isn't the only lie this documentation exposes, there are more.

I won't say this is true, but on another post it was alleged that the cops did have tapes they played.

Apparently he had a good friend on the force and told him about it.

True or not, I don't know.

But I do know what I have run into while looking into this case.

I have been lied to by the sheriff's dept, hung up on, and generally told they don't have to discuss any of their policies.

THIS video was NEVER seen by the jury. The ONLY one they saw was the one of the victim, Hope in the back seat of the cruiser, after being assaulted by the investigating officer.

Also the sheriff's dept kept information away from the grand jury investigators.

Plus, the sheriff's dept continues to this day to keep information from the public.

NOT just about this case, but also about general operations, policies and procedures.

How do you crack someone's tooth by pushing them against a car?

How do you have someone bleeding from their nose and give them a bulged disk in their back by swinging them down to the ground?

Cop says that he used all this force, because she was "resisting arrest".

Later in the trial he admits that Steffy slipped a hand out of her cuffs, but she TELLS him about it and never tries to escape! (Or resist without her arm being in a arm bar.)
