How do i use the Ethernet port to connect to my PS3? I have Phone, Cable and Internet service with Cox. I have my own modem in my room for my PC. But i also have a Arris modem that connects to my Cable and my Phone can i get Internet for my ps3?
yea right, try explaining this process to customers over the phone, just getting them to press a button in back of modem turns into a nightmare sometimes lol (work @ comcast call center)
@NewEraGaming2010 Incase you still need help. remove the power cord and remove the battery from the modem. It will do a reset. plug the ethernet cable to the ps3 then put the battery back in and plug in your power cord to the modem. This should help connect your ps3 to playstation network.

can some one please help me i have a modem some what simialiar to this one and for some strange reason it has been staying on the second light for almost a week now it has never done this befor and any help will be appreciated
Yes, but don't look for a splitter. Get a wireless router with 4 or 5-port hub. They can be purchased at Wal-Mart or Best Buy for between $30-$100. These will allow you to use multiple computers both wired and wireless with this modem.
One thing that I think you should of mentioned about this Arris modem (at least something that I notice with my ISP), is that the Arris modem sometimes locks on to a certain MAC address, and will not work with any other MAC. To reset the modem in this fashion, there is a reset pin hole on the back (at least on my model), that you can press for about 2 seconds, then you can plug in any device.
This particular modem does not have a standby button but many of them do. In any case, the standby button has nothing to do with resetting the modem. All the standby button does is cuts communication with the Internet off.
I have seen many cases where the Internet is only down because the standby button has been pressed.
I also should have clarified that this does not work if your broadband service is out completely and it is the fault of your ISP. However, if your ISP does go down completely, often you will not get a stable connection back up until you go through this process, once the ISP comes back online.
I will note, that simply unplugging your router and plugging it back in may not help. I strongly recommend leaving your router unplugged for 30 seconds at least.
Generally I unplug my router, leave it unplugged until I have fully reset the modem, and do not plug it in until the modem has come back online.

Sounds like you are either not getting a signal through your cable or the modem is bad.
