Excellent video, that guy explains the main points on why a constitutional monarchy is the best form of government, indeed an excellent nation-pride and identity generator institution guiding the state towards the rule of law. By the way, you guys know how are the monarchical restoration movements worldwide? Specially on European nations such as Bulgaria, Russia, Italy, Romania, Austria, France etc?

Smart kid. He's right. One just has to look at history to see that countries which became republics, usually at the cost of blood and democracy, didn't really gain anything from that...

An excellent post. I am an American (our country has no history of monarchy) but I support the concept.

I can certainly understand his reasons, I would hate for Britain to ever become a republic.

75-80% of the UK population are in favour of the Monarchy so we're safe for now but 50 years time i can't say but i would start a civil war to get it back.

Well, actually the most recent polls say that 86% of the brits are monarchists, which is really rather pleasent.

Well, extremely high, fortunatly, which only shows how Monarchy is a great system, always side to side with the people and the nation.

I'm quite trustful that our Monarchy will soon be restored, in a matter of years.

Polls say that 35% of the Portuguese are Monarchists, and most of the rest simply don't care.

There are few republicans in today's Portugal.

Moreover, the number of monarchists is growing fastly.

Constitutional Monarchy is the best form of govenment. I cannot fully explain because of message size limit, but...

Democracy is dangerous because the majority has power to take away rights of minority. Monarch rule well because they are raised from birth to do their job, and are not under the thumb of some faction. Ideally the monarch should be the executive branch, with a democratically elected legislature.

I hate violence, i prefer to live under a corrupt and useless monarchy, as the spanish monarchy (true!), that kill any of the members of the Royal Family and become a republic in that way. We want a republic, but never with violence. I am democratic.

That was a very good monologue. His reasons for being a monarchist were very clearly, cohærently, and rationally enumerated and explained; his perspective did not contain the glaring unsupported assumptions which characterise most people's reasons for believing what they do. Who is he exactly?
