i have to agree-but this is based off of vids i've seen/heard on youtube.

i was lucky enough to see teal this last feb (in sf, during previews). at the time she didn't sound as on top of her game(like i've heard on other vids/audios), and then i heard she was a out b/c of throat probs after i had seen her. but i would SO pay up to see her again, her and kendra. kendra was HILARIOUS!!!!!

I hapen to know sabrina was being looked at for Elphaba stand by. And that it was NOT the pressure that made her come of stage. She was very unwell befor going on stage but as they say the show must go on. I hope shes feeling better soon. Poor thing

I went to see her on Monday but was gutted 'cause she went off after Popular!

She kind of reminds me of Kerry Ellis (well her voice does anyway), but with a lot more character.

Yes - her first show was phenomenal. Nervous, yes, and a few slip ups on dialogue, but just WONDERFUL... I was there on Monday night specially to see her again - so sorry for her that she went off sick!

Yeah, she was on because she was being looked at for Elphaba stand-by but the pressure got too much so she went off sick.

Alexia was ill at the time too but Ashleigh was there so she went on. It was so confusing I was sat there like "hmm... I'm sure that's Ashleigh!"

@jcwelover yeah, Elpheba and Glinda have a full time Standby, who are always there - they have rehearsal time, but i think the standby was sick, or on holiday. the understudy will have little or no rehearsal, it might have even be the first time she flew! that would be sooo scary and to pull off an amazing performance like that is exceptional :D

Its not the London Elphabas. Thats just how some of them do it personaly. Ashleigh or Kerry didn't ever do it :/. The only ones I know definitely do are Alexia and Sabrina.

No Kerry does it every time she sings it, it's just not this drastic cuz she knows where to start her lines so that there isn't much time between glinda's "Elphie!" and "It's Meeeeeee" i don't know enough about Ashleigh but i know Sabrina Weckerlin(German standby) does it too

yes Alexia had to change cast after one short day and an anouncement was made and Sabrina came on so not very happy but still great performance anyway. and another oustanding performance from Dianne as per usual shes is so lovely when you actually meet her, we met her and got her autograph and saw her in Pizza hut and she waved at us. she was also outstanding on may 9th matinee she is just so funny amazing actress. I like the look to the western sky

That happened in the matinee. Poor Alexia was puking in the wings, I believe. This was Sabrina's first full performance, so she had at least an hour or two to prepare and recover from the drama of the matinee, bless her!

Sabrina went on for OSD and onwards in the matinee, apparently Alexia wasn't very well through-out Act 1.

I'm not sure where Ashleigh was, I think she was just away?

i think i like her the most out of all the elphabas ever in London....kerry was technically amazing, but a bore, and alexia is beginning to be a bore as well...she is the first london elphaba to put so much emotion into the lines, and not just sing it like they have to because it's in their contract.

I like this performance by Sabrina, but I do have one slight comment about the London Elphabas. I don't want to be criticized about making this, but right before the Elphabas fly, there is almost always an area of silence before the down beat to fly. That gets to me because it ruins the moment when she goes, "It's me............................­it's MEEEE!!" I love the performance otherwise, it's just something I noticed.

No, I noticed the silence here too. I think it depends on the Elphaba/performance how obvious it is... it doesn't always sound like this :) I love her 'I'm the one you want' though - I haven't heard it said with such conviction in a while!

I can understand why you would think this. But to me, I kind of like it, I think it makes the moment very dramatic and tense. It's like a quick moment where it's like "is she gonna do it or not?"
