Why the hell are people comparing Cary's performance as Ted Bundy to Heath Ledger's Joker?

Makes. No. Sense. These two performances are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. Bundy here is so much more controlled and calculating than Ledger's Joker. Just because they are both "creepy" performances doesn't mean they are by all means comparable. I have seen this entire movie and Joker-like he is not. Cary has something completely different than what Heath had for Mista J.

I actually don't think Cary Elwes is a great actor, though I know many people think he is. It's just my opinion. I must admit though I was surprisingly impressed by his portrayl here. He seemed to really embody the 'wormy psychopath' thay Bundy was when up close in his presence for extended periods. The charming, articulate Bundy you saw in court with his dashing good looks was all a surface sophistication. Up close he was creepy, unsettling and just ugly, at least on the inside.

I got to watch this movie FINALLY (yay for netflix :D) today, and I thought it was great! Cary Elwes is the bomb (The reason I watched Saw was because I found out he was in it-I loved him in the princess bride)!

I just listened to the actual interview and was very impressed with how they integrated the facts into this dramatic scene! Granted that the movie is not gonna be for those expecting a lot of action, but the conversations are really interesting! You can find the actual interview here in youtube. It even mentions the Spanish test George Ann Hawkins was babbling about. Creepy... I just hope that we don't get to see another Ted Bundy out there.

I was very much shocked at how Cary Elwes looked so much like Ted Bundy (might be something with spirit gum). I last saw Cary Elwes in Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Ella Enchanted so this was really a surprising performance from him! He really pulled it off, really creepy, and I believe he definitely received praise for this. It's a made for TV movie but it has a silver screen feel to it. I recommend ya'll watch the movie.

In case anyone is interested, this film is going to be released in January 2010 (find it on Amazon - it's available for pre-order). I can't wait, as I really LOVE this guys (Cary of course, not Ted) and I've never seen this one. I make it a point to see all of Cary's films. He's one of the most versatile actors of all time. He's great as the hero (Princess Bride), has a penchant for comedy (Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Liar, Liar) and is quite convicing as a psycho (Kiss The Girls). LOVE HIM

I liked Saw a lot. I've read some negative critiques of Cary's performance in that one, but I thought he was quite believable. The scene towards the end when he "frees" himself from the chain is one of the most intense sequences ever in a film of this genre. It freaked me out and I wanted to scream "NNOOO!!!" right along with the Adam character.

that's kind of a problem, I don't know how to put a whole movie on my computer the only thing I can do is use this little program to put parts on my computer and those parts are like half a minute long. so I should put the whole movie on my computer in parts of half a minute and than put it together so it accually fits.

yeah... I've been reading comments similar to this one, and he does a bit. I guess because Elwes did a bit of the "creepy/nerdy introvert", similar to Ledger's Joker. I loved Elwes's interpretation, but was taken by surprise a bit because Bundy always reminded me of a guy who's a bit more well spoken and out going. Good acting, though. He's got some range.

jigsaw- it's on tv here every so often. i don't think it's that good. acting is o.k., but 'ted bundy' (2002) is pretty good, at least it shows more of what ted did with the victims. elwes is the best, though. luckily, i was in the midwest when ted was on his rampage.
