well yes, the technical part is down but its all very mechanical and robotic, theres no self expression, even if he had practiced to be that good theres not that much feeling and power in it

Thats because when youre recording something you dont want to make a mistake and re record it so you are more consentrated then usual.

When im playing with someone i want to impress i am almost mechanic, but when im playing with friends just for the fun i mess around with bends vibrato and pinch harmonics and it has alot more soul and "self expression" like you said.
