Thank you very much! I can understand why so many people hold a negative view of Bono, but I have always felt differently. I admire his stoic refusal not to just "shut up and sing". When I see him give a speeh, there's such a depth of passion and sincerity in his rhetoric that I genuinely believe that he means what he says. Otherwise, he would fade back into the background of an easy life. I know that he's definitely inspired me to put my fist in the air & believe in "vision over visibility".

I like Bono, I'm a U2 fan since ever but i don't like these kind of hollywood people showing their will to help. I don't believe in their goodwill - this stupid word celebrity bores me. Bono doesn't need these 'stars' to show up because they only want to appear in the photo! Why should those who have worked hard for their money and been successful by working there arses off have to give away everything? It's not up to just the minority to give up their hard earned cash. Exactly tommy, these people with money are doing a lot more by creating awareness of the problem and helping those with the power to actually change things long term. Thats a very narrowminded way of looking at the situation. You are expecting to find a Single solution to the issues in Africa, one blanket strategy that will remedy a complex divergence of problems? THAT wont solve anything: by trying to tackle everything with 'one' approach (pardon the pun), you miss everything. I think exactly what is needed is a network of different solutions approaching from multiple angles, but sharing a common goal; Bonos is one plan among many. Every little bit helps.
