Yest Ares loves he but in selfish kinda way and for that Xena could never love Ares.
She definitely feel attraction to him, cause he's her type but his deeds are what makes Xena sick and the one thing stopping her from loving him. Xena is a warrior and woman of principle and Ares gas no principles and if he does something good is only to seresfy himself, so Xena can't just get over that.

Well fade effects have a lot to them. You not only have to pick up a good fade out effects you, also sometimes have to create it yourself. That could be done with different settings and also if you manage to put suitable scenes together ,you'll get better effect.

Xena and Gab were just best friends, yeah they loved each other but not in the way people tried to insinuate. It's like in 'Chakrum' Xena was the only one able to take the chakrum of light off the alter because she was pure, he was the one who took the original off because he would have been dark enough. They balance each other and unbalance eachother at the same time.

I don't think he's trying to replace Gabby in Xena's heart, that's a whole other thing, ya know? I mean, if there's two super best friends, that complete each other, and one gets a significant other, it doesn't mean in either context the original relationship MUST change or "make way" for the other. I mean, people's hearts are big and can love in many ways, and I think he just wanted her to love him like he loved her, not to push anyone else out in order to do it.
@chatte578 My thought was that whatever Ares does he will never be in the place of Gabrielle, and I even don't mean that as subtext, I just meant that where Gabrielle is in Xena's heart, no one can't be. So that's why Gabby is making that awesome face at the end. She knows that Ares can't do a thing...so to speak.
