  • The reviewer tendency is to blame the Republicans however the Democrats are just as complicit.

[1] This crisis has been 35 years in the making and the rollback in regulation started with Jimmy Carter deregulation of trucking and the airlines

[2] President Clinton repealed welfare -- vital assistence and signed the repeal of Glass/Steagel regulations.

[3] The Democratic Congress during the Reagan years reduced the top tax rate from 70% down to 28%

Both parties screwed the working class.

  • You are very right. As a Progressive, I have been disgusted at people's devotion to the Democrats despite their failure to stand up for the poor for over 30 years now. Simply voting Democrat as a panacea to bad financial policy is indulging in a fantasy. Many candidates of both major parties receive huge donations from the financial industry. How can anyone expect them NOT to serve their paymasters first? Thanks for reminding us of this.

  • Great review Jon!

  • You truly are awesome, Kim.

  • Good review. I've been wanting to watch this. I actually used to be in mortgage lending... boy do I have some stories.

I dosagree that monorities were specifically targeted. Most searches were run on FICO scores. Under 680 and you were a subprime customer and were targeted. If there was any derogatory info (e.g., collections) you were a target. There's plenty of blame to go around though.
