  • I loved TDN when I was a teeny bopper, love them still.

They weren't the only ones to sing others songs, Elvis never wrote a lyric in his life and only won 2 grammy's for gospel.

  • sing it white boy

  • i remember listening to the early 70s,jam on

  • 3DN borrowed lyrics from all the great writers of the day and put their stamp on it and made hit records all over the place. In the day THEY WERE BIG !! I remember their music even made it to the Saturday folk mass AT CHURCH. "Easy to Be Hard." Think about THAT !!

  • Did they original writers of this song ?

  • Good performance of the song. I like Otis Redding's version best of all. The Commitments also do a good performance. Frank Sinatra was the first one who sang this song.

  • love rolling guitar melody. Saw them way back and remember CN had arm in a cast.

  • The more 3 Dog Night performances I watch on youtube in which this singer takes center stage, the more I want to go back in time and sit on his d*ck.

  • @heavenlymush - lol what kind of comment is that ?

  • @teegaro It was a roundabout way of saying: My first impression of Cory was - well, let's just say I referred to him as Goofy Smile Guy before I knew his name - but he's grown on me.

  • @heavenlymush i didn't know he had a duck.....why would you want to sit on it? ;-)

  • @beccaboard :-p

  • @beccaboard Why, to hear it QUACK of course! lol! ROFLMAO!

  • it's sad that 2 of them committed suicide because of there manager effin things up!!!

  • @Melvinfrench91 No they didn't. Nobody in the band did that. Chuck is touring now solo. Cory, Danny, Jimmy and Michael are touring now as Three Dog Night. Floyd is doing his own thing. The only one that has passed is Joe, who died of a massive heart attack.

  • @cindylcain59 Joe Schermie left the band in 1973 and was replaced by Jack Ryland. Both have since passed away. Jack never gets much credit today for playing on Shambala, The Show Must Go On, etc. Jack is on the cover of Seven Separate Fools.

  • @egghd1 I believe in giving credit where credit is due...Sad that some don't get it. I'm sure both of them are missed by the rest of the band.

  • I do love Chuck Negron but this song has been one of my favs from 3DN. That singer totally nailed this song........MAN does he have soul in his cords or what?

  • @UltraRareBreed - yes even James Brown had to call Cory Wells " the soul brother" . Cory Wells is the best ! love him .

  • Really cool!

  • Most certainly it is the best version of this song. I had this on the album, Live at the Forum. Was a great album. Sorry, Otis just didn't have that great of a voice......certainly not as strong as this guy.

  • AMAZING!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS BEFORE NOW...LOVE SOME 3DN......THX!!!!!

  • @catboygreg - Some members of the Pantheon of Rock & Roll. WHY we can't have this quality of music today is hard to wrap my mind around.

  • OTIS

  • It's a good old classic song that is still good to listen to after all these years. This is music I grew up listening to in school..

  • LOVES IT!!!

  • it couldn't get any RARE than this AMAZING video clip of the most Legendary Rock Group of the very late 60's & early to mid 70's THREE DOG NIGHT!..thx "SixtiesPopGold1" for load'n this up on YouTube! =0D

  • @marbleann Better than Otis...Hate to say it. I love Otis. I was just not expecting that sound out of this guys mouth.

  • Not Otis, but pretty good,. These guys could sing all 3 of them.

  • @marbleann better than Otis

  • 3rd version for me , After orginal Otis Redding and Andy Strong ... but good one

  • I LOVE you sixtiespopgold! My fave version of this, by TDN!

  • Oh gosh, this is on fire! Love it!!!

  • This is the best version. Thanks so much!

  • Loved it then and Love it now. My son was born in 1970. Hmmmm. Still looking for "some tenderness". I think I will now Celebrate.

    Peace out all

  • Yea, I still love this version of this song, Three dog night WAS funky this is a great blues song they did it justice !

  • more cowbell

  • I'm sure this is the recording session for the version on the Golden Biscuits album. I listened to it about a million times in 1970. It's still awesome.

  • @lsukate I thought it was directly from the GB album till the very end. It may still be and the end was changed or cut to make what appeared on GB.

  • cory wells...

  • Thank you VERY much! Finally found the best version.

  • love this.. but must move on.

  • cant share.. this is totally link psycho!

  • I remember reading how they would play the whiskey-a-gogo in LA starting out and the sidewalks would be pounding outside! Saw them in Allentown in 1970 and it is still probably the best concert I ever saw. amazing !

  • Great post.

  • That's not Danny Hutton.

  • Excellent! 3DN was the very first concert I ever attended, in February 1970. They were great, and this was my favorite song of the evening. Closed the show with it, and I bet it went on for seven or eight minutes. A very class act.

  • funkiest white boys around :D

  • What a great find! Thanks for posting and sharing this video SixtiesPopGold1!

  • That is Danny with the mustache

  • Where is Danny Hutton??That is not him to the right of Corey with the mustache.

  • @MrBigben1952 I believe that is Pat Vegas from Redbone sitting in for Danny Hutton. There is a close up on the video "Heaven Is In Your Mind" where he sings a line and it looks and even sounds a bit like Pat Vegas. Pat was looking just like that at that time. Would like to know the story on that though if it is him.

  • Hi, Danny Hutton was looking just like that in those days as well. No story to it, that is Danny.

  • @radioman66 that is Danny Hutton , you can not miss those eyebrows :) !

  • of the best voices and best groups ever

  • oh well, this version will have to do........

  • wow what soul, growing up with the music of the 70's was great. I think we had the best of times, when most groups could real sing with beautiful voices like theirs.

  • saw them in concert at the "Swing Auditorium" in the early 70's. Bellisima!

  • I'm really enjoying watch these old TDN videos. Love Corey's voice and this song in particular. Thanks for posting. This is a very early one. Where do you get these from?
