I actually talked with Mark about this song one night before he went on stage. When he first wrote it he adamantly wouldn't perform it on stage. By the time I met him he seemed amused by the mythology of sorts associated with this song. The way it seemed to me was that he had accumulated so many female fans partially because of the angst of this and other songs of his that the memory of "Katy" had faded and he, well, he was enjoying getting his fare share of ass, for lack of a better word.
