They are the most endeared and love bands in the world hands down !!! I love this band why, because they connect with every emotion of the soul musically, no other band compares !!! No matter what mood you are in or feeling, you can always run to their music to get your fix & cure !!! Robert Smith & The Cure is music genius !!!
Robert Smith could have won the Nobel Prize for literature had he not become a singer/song writer. The man is a philosopher in his own right. I put him up with Camus and Sartre. There is alot more to this music than black hair and make-up. It's not about "goth", this album "Pornography" explores what it means to exist.
so true. The lyrics of this one and the hole fucking Pornography album are pure poetry. What a gifted men and what a classic record. Timeless beautiful, art at its highest form.
This song ages with us, as does the entire album. It seems more relevant to me now than it did in the 80's. It takes me to an emotional place that has only increased in its importance over the years.
I keep watching this Dvd all the time! We are so luck to have an artist like Robert Smith, my exotic caterpillar! For ages The Cure has accompanied me through my disasters, failures and comforting me with their lyrics!
I've heard somewhere that all the studio recordings are done with an old Gibson Chet Atkins guitar. However, I think that the Jazzmaster was his only or at least main guitar during the Pornography-era. The Bass VI isn't (to my knowledge) heard on this album, but can indeed be heard on about every song on Disintegration.
@AlmigthyIsDead Robert didn't use Gibsons perhaps until 87, but Porl did (the 335 is seen in 84 concerts). The VI was used in Faith, not sure in Pornography but probably not. I remember when asked about the Fender preference he said that he didn't like Gibsons because of their shape. Go figure, as now he seems to have abandoned the Fenders for good which made the new Cure sound quite strange, it's noticeable when he plays the old songs with the Fenders. The Schecters are pure crap.
Best song ever from the Cure; this is a marvellous piece of art in matter of of design these tunes in such an emotional sphere. It's like walking in a forest of ages and moods
Nobody can express the big whooptie do that losing your virginity is like Smith can. Yes, that's what this song is about. A highlight among highlights from Pornography.
i used to feel this song deep inside of me.. i'ts incredible how only a band can make me feel this way.. i think robert is really near my way to feel music
I love songs that are profoundly dark, because it really shows what the soul is all about. It is easy to be in the dark, but not dark in art............I love cure
you make dark art sound beautiful. I agree. It's also very contagious. I was a big fan of pornography when I was 15, but I still think disentragration is probably the best cure song ever.
An artist must know when to stop and The Cure should´ve stopped in 1993 after the Wish Tour.
1996´s Wild Mood Swing was the most disappointing album of the year. The record was full of shit except for Jupiter Crash.
Then Bloodflower came but it was clearly an stupid effort to get back to roots but failed: the magic escaped when Porl Thompson and Boris Williams departed in 1993. Perry Bamonte was average and Jason Cooper a bad drummer.
