The detailed info reallyw asn't very detailed. I took a look around the thing and it's impossible to replicate just by looking. I would love a tutorial for the grinder itself so determined beginners like myself can make it from scratch.

how do you make the mobs spawn with a lever?

@emma11122 @emma11122 The spawning pads are all directly in front of sticky pistons pushing a block over the pads to deactivate spawning. When I pull the lever it sends a signal to all pistons and they deactivate, pulling the block over the spawning pads back and thus activating mob spawning. When mobs spawn they spawn directly on pressure plates that re-activate those same pistons, instantly pushing them off the pad and sending them to their doom :)

@GamerHaterz first, it's 5, not 5-10, and it's in items/hour because it's more appealing than saying 1,000 items/minute. It's a rate of item drops, not saying if you leave it there for an hour you're going to get 60,000 items.

I got to admit I wish you would go into detail on the site about how the interior of this trap works and the whole squid thing to be honest. Its just this looks like something you could almost build legit rather than doing the whole sign setup thing which takes forever

@skyperlx I haven't really tested it yet. Enderman are 3 blocks tall, and the only available spawning spaces are 2 blocks tall. The rest of The Orb is either well lit, made of glass or covered in half blocks. I assume it's safe...maybe...
