I finally un-socialized myself and learned to give up my shoes completely. I hike and jog barefoot whenever possible now. It's a joyous and liberating feeling. :o)
Good movement! The thought to most of having no shoes sounds scary. However, like Josh states, "Keep your wits about you." Now for me I am building up slowly wearing Vibram Five-Fingers when I go for a run (also because of the Texas heat of 107degrees & surface of cement 120degrees). Parkour I practice with shoes. Eventually, I will train barefoot when I free run! It's all about building up slowly with progression. Train strong and live free...
all light clothing, t shirt, shorts and barefoot in a natural environment, not many people on the streets and relaxing break beats music that's what parkour should be about. im going to go try this myself soon any tips for starting out? i have trained in plimsolls before so i should be OK
I always love wearing no shoes, I feel as though shoes are a false sense of security, a barrier between us and our environment that should definitely be overcomed once in a while by all true Parkour practitioners. [:
Meh... I could do that in my sleep...! Unfortunately, it would be in the form of a dream, so it probably doesn't count! Seriously impressive stuff mate.. have you ever thought about training as a professional stuntman? With films like Casino Royale and Banlieue 13 making Parkour more prominent to us regular people, there is certainly a market for it, and you're clearly bloody talented!
i have just started barefoot running, and i want to get into parkour. How do you keep your feet from getting scraped up and getting stubbed toes? And how about rough asphalt and such? Thanks so much, and AMAZING vid!
@1l1keg1rls Because he's very good at it? Duh.... I know jack shit about Parkour, but it looks to my hopelessly untrained eye that it instills discipline, gives you extra flexibility, makes you more aware of your surroundings, and more likely to take extra care to land correctly.
if you feel the need to train high impact movements then just build up to them. Make sure you start small. Would also probably be a good idea to start weight training. Olympic lifting is a good way of conditioning the legs and posterior chain for high impact movement.
Hotness!! More motivation ta kick it with nuthin but sole. Keep it goin bro just don't fall off a buildin or something! Another form of freestyling at it's best.
Some awesome barefoot agility you have yourself there. Not to sound patronizing, but I really think you're very gifted, Josh Jarman. How long have you been practicing your craft?
I liked it when you went fast and didn't have the foot clothng! Really cool.
Getting up the walls could have been faster, looked like you held back due to not wanting to put much force into your bare foot; is that correct ou non?
End bit was cool, AND THE MUSIC IS RAD, can I have it please?
Basicaly man, the only things I can comment on are elbow related. On the L Seat keep em locked, the stability should be coming from your shoulders (you can do V Seats I'm sure, just tilt back by pushing with your shoulders and lift feet). Same advice with the wallrun at CPC, flick up to locked elbows locked then kick your legs straight up from that, if you do it right you wont feel any shock and it will take a lot of time off the climb up. :)

if you mean pistols then i suggest you stop as i see no real benefits and they often result in patellar tendonitis.
i'd been training for two years when i made this.
take care!
