Great video! Can anybody help me with a problem with Windows Speech Recognition? I can go through the tutorial & microphone set up just fine but as soon as I exit these, Speech Recognition doesn't seem to pick up anything, whether that is my voice or background noise. Normally, it would show on the bar next to the place where it says listening, but this doesn't happen with me. The problem's not my mic because it works fine ordinarily. Can anyone help please?

The problem with these programs, is that you need good english accent.

just so you know, in sleep mode it still takes like 2 cores of power so rather than just say stop listening click on the symbol and say click off if you dont use it. reallly help com speed.

Astonishing how good it recognizes you! I've seen a german example a short while ago and it was really bad. Maybe english is working generally better or it is just a question of voice training and clear speaking - I don't know. I'll get Windows 7 soon and will try this by myself.

Why doesn't Microsoft includes this program in their promotion commercials against macs? This is just one amazing program that windows vista and 7 has in my opinion and I think pcs are way better then macs. but that is just my opinion.

Actually it was very funny. Way back when.. remember when Microsoft had to go before congress when everyone was crying foul because they were including too much into their "operating system"? I loved the comment when asked how much more they were going to "infringe" on the market and the Microsoft rep flat out put a shot across their bow by saying.. "Well.. I wouldn't invest in any voice recognition software companies if I were you".

you better click on the start, just for start. and during the voice training/tutorial stress on the word 'start' when ever it appears.
