the 1st 2 chapters of the book of revelation lead me to believe that the book was about things going on near the time that the book was written. i believe that the term "babylon" was a code word for "rome" i think the whore of babylon was the pagan roman empire. i think the beast with the 666 was a roman emperor ( likely domitian and/or nero caesar ). domitian was very much like nero. i have read that the numeric value of the aramaic form of the name "nero caesar" adds up to 666.

i think the war of armageddon and similar verses in the book of revelation were dealing with heavenly battles between good and evil, not battles on earth. thus there was a lot of symbolic language, that is difficult to understand. also i believe that christ's 1000-year kingdom is in heaven, not physically on earth, and i think the term "1000 years" is a metaphor for "eternity". in some other part of the bible, christ said that his kingdom is in heaven, not on this earth.

In the context, Jesus says that the work of God is to believe on Him. Just like the "living water" that he told the woman at the well of, Christ is here speaking of the eternal life which is in Him through partaking by faith of His atoning sacrifice on the Cross. Interestingly enough, the Lord's supper was before the cross and while Jesus was present, so I don't see how you can say that it is His literal body. Anyway, one is made a partaker through faith (alone).
