Why has the government done a 180 turn with cigarettes. They put the little warnings on the packs, ban you from smoking where you please and raise taxes on them more so than any other thing. I think pot should be legalized in the UK but tightly controlled & taxed as heavily as alcohol (maybe more) & the penalties for driving under the influence should be the same as alcohol. Yes, I can die from drinking too much, being out of control and develop liver disease. But mate, it is so. Fucking. WORTH IT. Alcohol just creates the best environments and allows for/generates such an incredible amount of fun that it makes all the health risks and societal ills entirely worth it. If I were to base decisions depending on their risk I'd have to give up parkour, kitesurfing, rock climbing and my job in an aquarium (which involves me swimming with sharks and handling some pretty dangerous creatures). Life without some risk would be intensely dull, and I don't intend to shy away from things I enjoy simply because they're risky.

Yes, I can die from drinking too much, being out of control and develop liver disease. But mate, it is so. Fucking. WORTH IT. Alcohol just creates the best environments and allows for/generates such an incredible amount of fun that it makes all the health risks and societal ills entirely worth it. The amount of fun that can be had with alcohol justifies its use.

@GordosMama1111 Personally, I would quite happily keep on drinking alcohol even if the risk literally doubled. What is life without a little risk? If I were to base decisions depending on their risk I'd have to give up parkour, kitesurfing, rock climbing and my job in an aquarium (which involves me swimming with sharks and handling some pretty dangerous creatures). Life without some risk would be intensely dull, and I don't intend to shy away from things I enjoy simply because they're risky.

@GordosMama1111 (sorry to overload you with comments :/) But yeah, even though weed is far safer in terms of health risks and societal problems it causes, I still don't enjoy it anywhere near enough for it to replace alcohol for me. Some of the best times of my life have been when drunk, and I personally can't say the same for being high.
I have literally nothing against weed whatsoever, but I just enjoy alcohol far too much to trade in my beer for spliffs!

I remember in the UK when the government were pressured into lowering the classification of weed, they legalised it in trial areas to test it... the results were positive and what did they do? Criminalised it even more. Fuckers.

Agree with his principals and he's a great comedian but facts are, drugs of any kind including the legal ones aren't good for you. I have had plenty of great times partying hard on all sorts but, at the end of the day to much of that shit just fucks you up in the head. Anyone who seriously believes that drugs don't do you harm is naive or in denial. Just because alcohol is legal doesn't mean it's okay to drink shit loads of it and the same will go for any thing else they care to legalise.

Sure you can have lots of fun while on them, but there's also a lot of shit involved. All the problems in the world are reflected into people. If the nature is sick, so are we and when we are sick, we seek for relief, when we work 5 days a week we want to just forget it all and get happy for at least for a while.

@jCurve69 its not the drugs that are bad for you, its the abuse of drugs! LSD has been used to help people with schizophrenia. the effects of "mind altering substances" are mostly temporary. like cannabis, it doesnt cause mental illness but if you have a mental illness it probably doesnt help!
some illegal drugs are better for you than prescription drugs. ive done LSD and mushrooms and they had a predominantly positive effect on me. i see the world in a much more positive light than i used to

@jCurve69 it comes down to personal experience. its like going to see a movie, some people could like it and some people could hate it but theres no right or wrong. thats what drugs are, experiences! some people are allergic to paracetomal and react severley to it but they dont go around telling other people "dont take paracetomal, its bad for you". some drugs just dont agree with some peoples minds, some people can handle the shift in conciousness. it depends on how willing you are to let go!

i agree with you completely. i do lots of things high, including lifting weights. people are so brainwashed about what it does to you, that when they decide to try weed, they've already made the decision that they're going to be dumb and lazy on it... so that becomes their reality of being high.
that said, "indicas" create more of a body high, "sativas" a head high. if most street weed makes you tired, move to a state with med. marijuana and stick with sativas.
