  • This has been up for about 5 years now.

    Just think that's kinda cool.

  • This is the first time i've ever seen this. Decided to look into it after that Simpsons crossover episode. But, seriously, Judd Apatow as a writer? No wonder this is really funny.

  • Sigh...I was much younger when I used to watch this show and STILL get the references back then (kind of...), but I still laughed at the funny incidents such as him getting on the ice and it cracking, LOL! God love it, nostalgia!

  • It was definately ahead of its time. Jon Lovits, u rock you crazy bastard.

  • Family Guy wishes that their show WAS this :P

  • I happen to think Judd Apatow is a great producer of many fine films.

  • I didn't know Judd Apatow worked on this show.

  • @baxterfilms kind of hard to believe when you compare this show to all the shit films he's made since, right?lol

  • "Serve him the tainted Clams" ::Waiter points to his nose lol

  • "You, sir, are the biggest wuss on the island of Manhattan."

  • wow...nostalgic

  • wow Family Guy completely ripped off the beginning segment where the silent film actor couldn't do color and sound movies.

  • DANCE WITH ME TONY!!!!! DANCE WITH ME!!!!!

  • I can't believe that family guy got away with blatantly stealing that awesome silent film part. Just goes to show how unoriginal that fucking show is.

  • "Alright, which one of you threw that firecracker at the little girl?" *raises hand* "You're off the team!" "Alright, I'm making a line up. Who's gotta go to go to court today?" *4 hands go up* "You're off the team!" "Now, who impregnated my daughter?" *The rest walk away* "Oh, marvelous!" XD XD XD and the dancing, headless chicken is priceless!
  • It's all downhill for Jon Lovitz after this show

  • Hong Ping.. don't eat daddy's Picasso...

  • LOL Help! Help! I've Got To Go Potty!

  • "What about that guy in M. Butterfly?" LMAO

  • @jindantang YOU HEARD ME!!!!!!!!

  • i see a lot of similarties between this and the works of seth mcfarlan (family guy and the cleveland show)

  • the walking against the wind and house front falling...classic Buster Keaton

  • I may have screamed the word potty, but they took it waaay out of context

  • handsom as beavis, funny as butthead lmfao, best show ever made

  • I like how they didn't bother to dress up the sumo wrestler.

  • I remember watching this every Sunday. I was in Catholic elementary school. God I miss those days.

  • 7.50-8.05 i fell out of my chair laughing

  • It's easy to criticize other shows and the people that watch them. i love Family Guy, The Simpsons, Duckman, Dilbert, The Critic (duh lol), Dr Katz, Home movies, Harvey Birdman Attorney At Law and a bunch of others. Every has a style or a variety of comedy styles they enjoy. I think blindly bashing a show because it's popular is a waste of time. Everyone has their tastes XD

  • imean ive seen dumb people in animated shows but calling somene a wimp when everything is burning and hes about to be burned alive doesnt make sense but well... it is a cartoon ;)

  • its more fun to run when its not from a gun

  • I loved the homage to Buster Keaton in the beginning. i love silent film and i love this show. ^_^ and yes, South Park ftw. Family Guy is great too but a tad overinflated as of late. Still fun regardless though.

  • I think the show is awesome but I don't think they should continue it because then people will screw it up like shows today.

  • @stormsirens2 Well lucky for you, this show was cancelled in 1995.

  • @stormsirens2 i can probably make a clever show like this eventually :)

  • the intro music is awesome, btw this show is one the last great animated comdies, Family Guy and The Cleveland show suck....FG is just a vehicle to blast God anymore.

  • @1980Triumph What about American Dad? That's the only Seth MacFarlane show that hasn't been tainted by seasonal rot (like FG, though the show is starting to turn around a bit) or was a crappy idea from the get-go (like The Cleveland Show). The only reason people don't watch that show that much is because they stopped caring about it when Family Guy was brought back from cancellation.

  • @The4EverYoung85

Occasionally I do watch AD and the Cleveland show, but FG is the worst of the bunch.

  • @1980Triumph Screw you

  • @AngelofChaos6688

    Fuck off

  • i can't stop laughing! the bungee scene is killing me!

  • You obviously haven't watched South Park, it's a lot cleverer than the likes of Family Guy

and by the way the worst swearing is stuff like "Damn" and "Hell" anything worse than that is beeped

  • butthurt much?

  • or you can lighten up.

  • south park is hilarious. the foul mouth stuff is not the funny part, it's the sharply satirical comedy and social commentary than is fueled by current events that really drives the show. You should actually sit down and watch it some time.

  • reminds me of british humor

  • LoL

The Simpsons, American dad, Family Guy, The Critic, Duckman hmm....where's the famous British show?

    Who cares cuz they suck.

  • It's better than South Park because the stories were more well thought out and it was able to find its own humor and stick by it. South Park was funny and great in it's first five years but now it's now focused more on vulgarity and current topics for cheap laughs. South Park is now the T.V. version of the stupid movie movies, ie. Epic, Date, Disaster, Spartan, etc.

  • This show is boss !

  • You'd think a comedian like Jon Lovitz could put some enthusiasm into his voice.

  • yea your definatly right he dosent put any enthusiasm into his voice and his voice sounds boring.

  • Mmmm Chocolate..

  • Reelz channel on Dish network ran this for a year, I believe. I think they pulled it off, though, two months ago. Thank God for DVRs.

  • It's disturbing how this show was canceled so early in its run and garbage like South Park still airs.

    ...

  • seriusly stop its not made for old men like you xD

  • Judging by your name... Lmao, 12 year old kiddy, no wonder you're a south park fanboy.

It could only appeal to the kiddies who don't know better.

  • Well that pretty much explains your affinity to South Park.

I liked low brow humor when was a child too.

  • Jokes are ten times smarter than SP's. And y'know, this has no perverted violence-humor! :D Sure it has a moral value, but I prefer relax and watch something very subtle humor. something fun and enjoyable, great example would Seinfeld. I just don't really enjoy SP-kind of humor. It really is meant for 9-12 year olds. Otherwise the humor would be much more... I dunno... adult?

  • "Man you got it all, handsome as Beavis and funny as Butthead" XD

  • Elvis's movies did suck.

  • Better singer than an actor eh? lol.

  • Yes, unfortunatly for Elvis.

  • I just noticed

the woman who does the voice of doris

also did the voice of lunchlady doris from the simpsons

  • Wow, spot on. I hadn't thought about it. But you're definitely right.

  • Kick ass show! It sucks that it didn't last long!

  • IT STINKS!!!

  • what a great show.

  • its ok. I've been spoilt by Simpsons/Family guy though....(and Life/Times of Tim + Home movies)

  • You were not spoiled, you're just brainwashed.

  • 2:49 zombie dance xD

  • Why did this get cancelled?

  • this and dilbert were the smartest shows Id ever seen and laughed at

  • This is such a fucking good show, man!!!!!!

  • Oh, Elvis!

  • I love this show!! Thanks for posting this! Jay Sherman is my hero!

  • "serve him the tainted clams"

  • I adore this show

thank you sooo much for putting this up

I've seen this a few times over the years

  • Buston Keaton right?

  • i love this theme so much!!!!

  • i find myself singing it randomly, regardless if i've seen an episode recently, it's sooooo catchy, especially that drawn out opening, classic!

  • The Critic, "Family Guy" of the early 90s =)

  • Yeah but this grabs family guy by the collar and force feeds 'em their own shit.

  • Ah, The Critic, used to love this show, never missed it.

  • It pre-dates Family Guy by quite a few years. The mid 90's I believe.

  • ah i was born around then lol

  • that's too bad. you missed out on a lot of great things. :(

  • yeah stupid 21st century

  • they werent that great ya the internet and digetal age started but a all that tamagoc and thinking the world would end at midnight crap

  • "Help , Help - I have to go potty" - I may have screamed the word "potty" , but they took it WAYYY out fo context"- LMAO

  • I saw this when I was nine...you can't imagine how hilarious "Help, help, I've got to go potty!" was back then...

  • Still is funny and I'm 23 now!

  • Whoa! This was written by Judd apatow?

  • He worked on the show as a consulting producer, and he wrote one more episode.

  • it stinks! just like my bud!

  • this use to be one of my favorite shows lol!!!

  • i didn't know the bunnge went down on the water

  • The opening sequence seems kind of long to me.

  • I have holes in my Little Mermaid underwear, HEEELLLLP! LOL!

  • Oh, you meant "Marathon". Damn.

  • I love the intro song! Is it for download somewhere!?

  • It's nice, isn't it?

  • "Hong-Ping, don't eat daddy's Picasso!"

I LOVE THIS SHOW, why'd they take it off the air?

  • wow, a Buster Keaton parody.

  • yeah, it's as if people cared!

  • Best intro call ever

  • I may have screamed the word "potty" but it was TOTALLY out of porportion

  • WAHHH I NVER GOT TO SEE THIS SHOW!!!!

  • Hmmph. This is a very good cartoon. One of those good cartoons that should still be on.Like Futurama and Mission Hill.

  • Yeah, The Critic needs more love.

  • "When Films Didn't Stink So Much"

That would be a good segment for some of the films we get nowadays.

  • i always love the phone calls and the movies he reviews in the intro

  • by Dane Youssef

I'm a GARGANTUAN fan of this show. I rank it with "The Simpsons," "South Park," "Duckman," "Family Guy" and "All In The Family."

The people who put this show together were Holy Messengers of God in comedy. I can watch every episode again and again and still hurt myself laughing.

May this show win a posthumorous Emmy and go down in infamy.

Please fellow "Critic" fans, get the world out. Help to make this a cornerstone.

  • "She's like the proverbial mother who lifted the Volkswagon off her child, only, YOU are the Volkswagon, and the child is the child in all of us."

Ahaha, that always makes me laugh.

  • IT STINKS!

  • "help! Help! I've got to go potty!" priceless

  • "i cant die like this, i have holes in my little mermaid underwear!!!!"

  • written by judd apatow, of freaks and geeks, and 40 year old virgin fame!

  • Hey now, Family Guy may be idiotic, but it lands quite a bit with those who have...underefined tastes. Me, I enjoy a happy medium between the two, and can watch and appreciate both intelligent humor and moronic humor.

  • Jon Lovitz for president (I know I've made McBain too, but there's always room for McBain-Jonh Lovitz 2012)

  • I am rrrrambo lol

  • Damn i miss this. It was always on comedy central right after Dr.katz but before d=Dilbert. This show kicks family guy's ass.

  • Hey Goatlover61 put the full episode on & don't say u can't cos other people did

  • MAN this cartoon was awsome thanks for the Upload, Can you put up some more? Why did this show take off like Simpson or king of the Hill............Meh

  • Is that Phil Hartman's voice in the opening?

  • Has anyone noticed that the newsguy's microphone at 5:22 isn't even plugged in to anything?

  • Oh my god, years of remembering this episode and now i can see it again, thank you so much

  • Watching this stuff makes me realze how dismal Family Guy.

  • what channel is thsi on

  • Comedy Central sometimes reruns it I hear.

  • Why does he have so much cans of hair spray?

  • It was hair in a can.

  • The Critic had the best theme song EVER!!! :D

  • that's exactly what I think =D

  • me too

  • QUOTE The Critic had the best theme song EVER!!! :D /Q

    Better then the Family Guy?

  • Definitely. You can only hear the Family Guy theme song so many times before wanting to throw a brick through your TV set.

  • How can anyone compare The Critic to Thew Family Guy? It's like chocolate vs mud.

  • QUOTE How can anyone compare The Critic to The Family Guy? /QUOTE

No one compared the two shows, just the two theme songs. Both are unique and have their place in animated TV history, a history in which Dr. Katz is King

  • Don't want to hurt your feelings but there's nothing unique about FG - it's a rip off of the Simpsons, ant that's that.

TC on the other way had a whole different style, it was unique. Too bad it only ran for 2 seasons.

  • Don't want to hurt your feeling but new simpsons episodes are a rip off of Family Guy.

    Ant that's that.

  • Don't want to hurt your feelings, but Family Guy and The Simpsons rip each other off, and both of them are fully aware.

  • You're not hurting my feelings, and Matt Groening is just getting even with that Seth guy. Plus, the Family Guy's over, The Simpsons have been on the air for like 20 years. That says something.

  • Family Guy is not over, and Simpsons have been on the air for 20 years, that's true, but it stopped been funny like 8 years ago.

  • Well, to be fair, the Simpsons managed to go for more than four seasons before it went on the downturn.

  • Maybe rip off old simpsons episodes, when they were funny. Now homer is just a weenie version of Peter.

  • Could people just shut up about Family Guy and The Simpsons...like forever? Please....

  • Why? Both of them suck ass nowadays.

  • then why are we talking about them?! alright! we get it! this show is better than most animated sitcoms! get over it!

  • I realize something: we shouldn't compare some shows to other shows because each show is always different from each other, no matter what.

  • Indeed. 15x cannot be proven to be less than or greater than 12y.

  • 0:18-0:24 best part

  • Nothing turns on the chicks like a human fly. Or was it Spanish Fly?

  • "Dancw with me Tony! Dance with me!"

  • "Ouch, my kidney!"

    "Ouch, my liver!"
