nice, i havent gotten a baseline for my bronco with my current commute which i need to do before i start testing mods. check out my videos if you have a moment. trying to get the bronco to 30 mpg to prove that it can be done without sacraficing performance. in 2016 when all those weak aluminum trucks come out ill be getting the same mpg in a better truck, thatll show em :)

However as the gas price goes up the marginal cost of running a larger engine increases. In many instances a economic vehicle will use half or less the amount of gas, so the price would have to double or further before you are back to the same running costs. And mark my words, it will happen. Iran, Yemen and Venezuela are exceptions. Most of the rest of the world - even your mates in Australia - pay $5 per gallon or more.

i own old cars myself. i have very few breakdowns. of course, i maintain my cars properly. the eltenators and starters in most of my cars have been replaced with lifetime rebuilds. the engine in my 89 camaro is a 350 and only has 30k on it, of course the next thing i'll have to replace is the transmission but hopefully not for a few more years.

when you think about how much energy, time and money goes into building a hybrid you'd be better off with an older car than ran fine.

If you look up some of the vids on youtube, then you would hear them saying stuff like "i hate to see this go". You gotta do what you gotta do to keep your job and unfortunately in an economy like this, there are not a lot of job options.

However as the gas price goes up the marginal cost of running a larger engine increases. In many instances a economic vehicle will use half or less the amount of gas, so the price would have to double or further before you are back to the same running costs. And mark my words, it will happen. Iran, Yemen and Venezuela are exceptions. Most of the rest of the world - even your mates in Australia - pay $5 per gallon or more.

the fuel a gas guzzler like an old jeeps, ect. uses in its whole lifetime is less damaging than the manufacturing of the prius plus the fuel it uses durin its life. gas prices arent going up because of gas guzzlers, its goin up cause of imported hybrids ect..the best thing for the government to do is recommend these hybrids and hopefully ppl are too stupid enough to keep compaining about the environment. the government hates tree hugers,

Those dealers that accepted the clunkers and gave the customer their car before the GOV reimbursed them were RETARDED. MY dealer was smart enough to go about it the right way and NOT cough up the new car until they were rembursed FIRST. I got my NEW Pontiac G5 for $8,100. Yup $8,100 for a NEW G5 no joke no lie. Because it is a Pontiac it had the HUGE incentives to get rid of the Pontiac Delta Platform to ready the public for the Chevy Cruze. Now they are advertising the Cobalt which IS G5 Visa Versa to completely rid themselves of the Proven Delta car. The Cruze will be less car for more money. Yeah $6,000 incentive plus $4,500 GOV rebate. No lie. But sadly the G5's are gone.

In fact I'm driving one of them. its 16 years old now and gets 32mpg, and I bought it when my only income was delivering pizzas, part time. you guys are silly with the 'woe is me' attitude, sheesh.

What happens when people don't trade anymore? Instead of trading their car to be sold as used they're going to use "CFC". The scare is that there won't be any "used" cars because people will do CFC instead. When I say there won't be any more used cars I'm talking in the range of 10-15 years. At first I didn't care but last week I watched a beautiful 70s mustang V8 get destroyed and I was pissed.

Also, I have been driving clunkers for the last 20 years. I am much happier not worrying about my car breaking down any minute. I loved my old cars but when they broke down it was hell.

i own old cars myself. i have very few breakdowns. of course, i maintain my cars properly. the eltenators and starters in most of my cars have been replaced with lifetime rebuilds. the engine in my 89 camaro is a 350 and only has 30k on it, of course the next thing i'll have to replace is the transmission but hopefully not for a few more years.
