The song is the second opening to the anime, ENGAGE sung by Japanese song titans Mitsuko Horie and Ichiro Mizuki. They've collectively been singers in about 2000 songs from various anime, live action TV shows, and movies. This is their second duet, their first was Cross Fight, the opening to Dangaioh which single-handedly made the otherwise fairly bland show worth watching.
Now THAT was epic. So glad I Teif'd the box set at Anime North when i saw it. Shinkon Gattai Godannar = EPIC HIDDEN GEM. Koji's sacrifice made this even more awesome (even though we all know what REALLY happened to him, lol)
@BassGosple - I honestly think it works pretty nice on two different levels. Yeah, it's a decent show in its own right, but you can tell it's a parody of the older shows with the overblown attacks (even compared to them) and pointless amounts of bounce.
Go had the Insania Virus, and after the battle, is covered in a cocoon or something, and they put him in stasis until a cure was found. Ending narration happens before he is cured.
@Sentenal Heh, no one said being GAR didn't have consequences. Then again, being GAR usually led to death. key examples: Kamina, Kittan, Lordgenome (all 3 from Gurren Lagann), Ken (From Godannar). Those are all I can recall at this time.
Kouji...

Goh comes out of the shell, Anna has fully grown up physically, and they get married AGAIN and he asked her to cut his hair...

When Anna was narrating at the end, what did she mean by, "That was the last time I talked with Goh-chan?" Is he dead? Did they leave?
