hey man i own the boss me 25 and a crappy morley wha pedal and i want to buy a new amp but i dont know which my budget is around 500$ what do you think that would be a great amp for metal sound like yours?
Your videos are so good I actually sit through 30 second ads to watch them.. do you prefer one lower wattage amp over any others? would you take this over the HT-5, rev jr, krankenstein jr?
I've noticed in your vids you use a variety or different pedals to boost an amp (Maxon, Benrod in this one, etc). Whats your favorite pedal to boost an amp's gain further?
Hi! Incredible videos here...please any advice to play this dark terror in Band? Cause I bought it and I can't here myself when we play together and volume is full....
@burlot2 Maybe buy a loud solid state amp just for practice, any small amp will struggle in a confined practice environment, it should still be perfect for small gigs though :)
@burlot2 most likely could be a couple of things. your eq is clashing with the cymbals and your disappearing behind a wall of sound, or maybe your rehearsal space is far too ambient. its all how your ears perceive sound and more watts isn't always the answer i have found. 15 watts is a bit shy if you have major tank of a drummer but i own this amp and i truly believe with 2 cabs hooked up to it i could play a club.
Never really been a fan of Orange tube amps. I love their cabs. I do however think this head is one for maybe doom / stoner metal. Thanks for sharing.
Great video Ola! I really want one of these heads haha. With regards to the guy saying that you make everything sound the same i think he needs to listen a bit more carefully. Youve recorded and played through 100's of really different awesome metal tones that all have there own character. Also Every guitarist will have there own sound through any amp and add a similar tone to every amp, especially if you test each amp with a similar guitar.
are you going to do a video like the other amps where you do a full band recording mix? I think that would help compare it to the other full sized amps ^_^
@MyLifeChanger No, the goal is to get the best one out of every amp he tests, and it just so happens that the best tone for every amp is a Feared metal tone. Simple as that.
@MyLifeChanger The point is to see how these amps measure up to one another tonally for METAL. If you are not listening to metal you are wasting your life.
@MyLifeChanger seriously! WTF? you must be REALLY tone deaf to assure that every amp he test sounds the same.. there are obvious constants in every video ... like the guitar or the mic placement or even the cab.. and obviously the taste of ola himself.. but every amp has its own special characteristics ...and that's the point of it.. specially for us who don't have access to this kind of amps live
When actually riffing, the amp doesnt determine the sound to 100% The majority of the tone comes from your picking technique.. In my opinion at least..
@joachimekstrom lol this is the point in watching these videos, you know what sound Ola is going for so when he tries different amps you know if its possible to get it out of them or not and you hear how the sound differs on different amps since you know what the goal is form other videos...if you are bored i recommend doing something else other than watching his videos xD peace:D...and metal
LOL, He is a fantastic guitar player, and his videos are GREAT! But I have felt the same way as you for about a year now, ever sense he quit playing Engl's.
this amp, an EQ pedal and a good 2x12 with a 7 string beast is all youll ever need in life. holy shit, i wasnt expecting so much gain from this thing. i know the original tiny terrors didnt have anywhere near this much
@xXGuitarxManXx Ive seen them, but he didnt do the knob turning thing. Id like to hear all the different sounds each amp does. Although they were great videos nonetheless!

There's no comparing the two.
Oranges are british voiced and mesas are american voiced.
They're two different kinds of tones.
I prefer a british tone to an american
