@grishnak84 No star treck online is about the same. You control your ship's movement and the shields and the weapons and the skills at the same time in combat. In EVE you just turn on your weapons and shield re generators and orbit around a person. In STO you have to get in the arc of your weapons before you can fire. It is alot more realistic cause EVE has glitches where you are firing through your ship attack like a pirate.

In most battles ive seen so far ships fire beam weapons in all directions a continuous manner on an enemy ship regardless of position or facing? It looks, well I dont know how how to say it nicely so ill just say, ridiculous and non entertaining. IMHO they should have made weapons in 45-60 degree arcs instead for a more tactical gameplay feel.
From what I understand the world is pretty static, I look forward to a MMORPG that integrates RTS elements to create a dynamically changing gameworld
@Elpelyu123 There are some great free MMO's that maintain them through mediums that work like secondary payable content, This could have been one of those, and they would have gotten much more subs, Blizzard Sucks B***'S. I say that as a Professional Gamer, Star trek Online as it is "With" room for improvement, Sucks Big time.
Is it only outside views that are available? I'd always thought of large starship combat as being like sub to sub warfare: expert maneuvering to get the best firing solution, and THEN letting them getting a good look at your torpedoes.
also r u allowed to board enemy ships like send ur crew to attack the enemys in there own place to like blow them from the inside and kill the crew like a boarding party or only space combat

the game is either $49.99 or $59.99 (59 has some bonus items and such). the subscriptions: monthly $14.99, tri monthly, yearly, and a lifetime for like $249.00 or something close (that may be a limited offer).
in the beginning i would focus on my ship over my away team just because most of the away missions are fairly easy off the bat and the best personal weapons i got were from drops not the stores. in space just work on getting comfy with the controls, that was the hardest part for me
well if you ordered the lifetime subscription you can play a borg thats my understanding of it. I wouldnt be suprised that they allow all players to play borg in some future patch.
Now that i've played the game I'm sure about it: I don't like it. The whole game is horrible. i wouldn't buy this if it's the last MMO on Earth.
People, this game has 10+ year old mechanics, terrible AI etc. do yourself a favor and play Klingon Academy which is 10 years old but superior in most ways. also better are Starfleet Command (1999), Bridgecommander (2002) and even Star Wars Galaxies (2004).

"Free" being relative. If you want access to the "extra" content you will end up spending more money on a f2p mmo than a p2p one; or money grind 24/7. Not all of us are able to enjoy a game for free when you're cut off from the cool stuff that is for the "donators" or "no-lifers" of those "free" games.
