  • I really don't know why Gary Lewis didn't bounce back with another record company when his own co told him music has changed and his records were out. There must be more to the story than we know. I was told his father never did anything to help him even at the start of his career. It was his mother that helped him get started.

  • Gary Lewis not only had a string of top 40 hits he had 12 top 10 hits in a row which is almost impossible. What stopped it was he was drafted and when he came back his record co told him music is changing all the time and kids don't want to hear Gary Lewis and the Playboys anymore.

  • Great video! I just became a fan of Gary Lewis. I'll check out that link sometime. Thank You!

  • the only non-British Commonwealth record in the Hot 100's Top 10 on 8 May 1965, at #2

  • Fun fact: that cool percussive piano is being played by Leon Russel, who I believe was also a producer on a host of Gary Lewis singles

  • Snuff Garrett more than anybody else.

  • @ranran19701 You're absolutely right! Thanks for the reminder.

  • I love this sound ,and the songs. I used to write down the words and maybe change a name here and there and then write them in a note or a card and give to the girl of my dreams for the week. LOVE IT !!!

Oh by the way I was 11 years old at the time.

I continue to love these songs to this day.

  • Oh Yeah I knew Jerry was his dad, but he never played it up, didn't have too. He was an artist on his own. I don't think many people knew what a gifted musician he was in hisown right. I'm sure his dad was aproud man!

  • I was very young then but i was a great fan of this group.. He was well loved in my country especially when he married a Filipina .

  • Give props to pewmanfustudios for at least getting the sound roght, STEREO, not that mono crap on the other songs, or the volume is too low, or sound distoretd. I mean clear crisp genuine STEREO. Thank you.
