This video is going to help me a lot, AndromedaDude, as I'm going to be recording a DS playthrough on an emulator with FRAPS, but I couldn't figure out how to remove one of the screens. Now I can make a seperate edit for each screen, then swap between them in editing if nessessary.
i got problems with mine...i downloaded it to crop a video, and when i go to open the file...its not supported..psh...this can't work with windows movie files?? so i just didn't bother..tried to uninstall but don't even think it came off the cmptr....im kinda new to windows 7...plus, from the looks of it here...it seems like this only crop the sides? what about the bottom and the top? thats what i wanted to crop out.
Virtualdub only supports AVI files using either the DV, Xvid, or Raw codecs. Also the X1 and X2 Offset parameters affect the horizontal Resolution and the Y1 and Y2 offset parameters affect the vertical resolution.
This is a very awesome video! You do not know how much I am grateful to you. I initially searched for the web for hours until I found VirtualDub and I was puzzled on how to use it. Your video was very easy to follow.
Props to you and thanks for creating this tutorial!
@AndromedaDude ok bro, so go there and crop my video which was around 858MB and after 30 minutes when it was done, the final copy came out very nice but laggy and sound was extra laggy, AND I JUST FOUND OUT THAT IT'S SIZE WENT UP TO F*****N 19.9GB wtf lol. i tried to decompress the video, nothing happened and i dont seem to have the right version when it comes to decompressing cuz it doesn't have the avl format thing or what not
The low frame rate and large file size could be attributes to exporting the video with the Raw codec (completely uncompressed.)
- You could try changing your compressor settings under the "Video" tab and changing the codec to Xvid. If you do not have Xvid, then it is a free codec so you can download it. As for the audio, you can try changing the compression to PCM (default), or MP3 with a high bitrate, but I would stick with PCM.
hmm, i tried the cropping thing, then when i went to save the video, i get error -100, but when i delete the cropping and try again, it works, what is error code -100?
I go to filters, with null transform selected, but it doesn't let me click "Cropping..." the cropping button is sort of that way where it won't let you click it.
Could you help me? I follow your directions exactly - but when I click OK in the video Filter area (after selecting, adding, and now 'OK'ing' the NULL TRANSFORM -- the screen never changes - showing the adjustable CROPPING SCREEN. How do I bring up the CROPPING SCREEN? Please answer - I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
Try going to your filters window, and with null transform selected, there should be several buttons on the right. Click the one that says "Cropping...". This should bring up the window.
Man!thank you very much!!i search alot of vids but all of them jz taught about cropping videos instead of the video sizes.

Is this present only when you are editing, or does it show up on the final exported video as well.

KappaMikeyUploader 1 year ago
The error code -100 means that the codec that you are using for the video will not work with the new size that you have changed it to.

You need to install the Xvid codec. You can get it from Xvid movies dot com slash codecs.

Help me please I did everything and when I render is as the AVI and watch the results the black bars are still there?
WarfareRespawn 1 year ago
Perhaps when you rendered the video you saved it wit the original resolution.

How the FUCK do I get it to work? I crop it, click ok, and nothing happens.
OutOfStupidity 2 years ago
Is the result visible on the output window? (The video screen to the right)?
AndromedaDude 2 years ago
No. That's the problem.
OutOfStupidity 2 years ago
Have you tried rendering it and seeing the result?
AndromedaDude 2 years ago
I got it, I just had to show only the output window. That's fine though, thanks.
OutOfStupidity 2 years ago
hrm...I followed all the steps in this tutorial and my output video appears all slanted in black and white. Any idea what the issue might be?
hfblade 2 years ago
Sadly, no. If you have any deinterlacing methods activated, that could cause something like that to occur though.
