it depends if you're using wifi then it's free, but if there aren't any hotspots around you'll have to use GPRS and that costs.

How come the Phone you demo there got superb transition effects? Especially while rotating the phone from landscape to portrait mode.. The one I bought doesn't have effects like that! :-(

I'm having the latest firmware v20. But those effects shown there , are not to be seen in any other nokia 5800XM..

Go to your themes menu, then choose the first option. Then JUST mark Sound Waves (no doubble tapping), then bring up your options menu (press the touch button above the green answer call button). Select Theme effects (or something similar, it should be the first marked option when you open the menu. Then press ON. And Voila you have theme transitions :D

Since I have the Swedish version I'm not sure of all the menu names, hence the awkward guide :D

no i think its pretty sensitive , responsive and fast and if u use the built in pen u will find it very cool to use as well . Good luck buying it its a very nice phone :)

would have been a perfect phone for me if it wasnt for the non-inclusion of an fm transmitter. Its a music phone, it should have an fm transmitter....does this phone work smoothly and fast even with lots of memory on board? will the accelerometer be as quick as an i-phone? Owners, pls let me know.

i'm not a fan of apple or anything but everyone has to admit that nokia is losing their unique touching and desperately trying to copycat the iphone and they've failed with that, i've tried this nokia and i have to say it's one of the worst touch screens i've ever used. I have to admit that iphone is the best touch-screen wise (and not functionality). i used to own the iphone but now i have HTC g1

This has been in development long before the iphone. Incidentally its not really ideal comparing it to the iphone as Nokia have stated its a different animal. Thats like saying that 'x' phone is copying 'y' phone because it can dial a number and store contacts.

i've tried two different LG touch phones and they were were very much like the nokia's xpress and sometimes i felt the LG a bit better, anyway the nokia that i've tried using still had a transparent cover on the screen, maybe that's why it hard to touch/use.

I believe the best touch phone out there is (still) the iphone then comes HTC g1, i dont know about blackberry storm. i'm an ex-iphone owner and currently owning HTC g1

i guess you can try it out in any of their showrooms, i really hated it, the scrolling is horrible and adding the pen is a bit awkward and feels like you're dealing with an old touch phone but let's not forget the strong software library available for the nokia phones. it's up to you to decide buddy.

This is definatly better than the iPhone! The camera's better, the operating system is better and eh the cost? Well on prepay around 330eur is projected, and the starting price of prepay iPhones? 480eur! You'd just be paying more for a device that has fewer features and by far the worst coverage Ive ever had on a mobile! Nokia 5800 is the way forward!

This phone is quite arguably better (camera, hot swappable MicroSD, stylus/pick input, onscreen keyboard isnt crap, battery life, reliability and most importantly price. I am a PAYG user and £220 is a hell of a lot better than the £350 they want for an 8GB iPhone..and its unlocked..and you can expand the memory to 16gb when the cards come out...and it doesnt make you look like a cock in public.
