  • im pretty sure Iyanaga plays that slow on purpose to make his opponent get anxious. it really does work.

  • every player that kicks my ass at magic takes 30 minutes to take their turn

  • why didn't iyanaga play birds on turn 1..

  • why are threy always shuffling there hands?

  • @SSxSnazySnipers Probably either a ritual to do while they're thinking, and/or to hide any clues that they might be favoring/waiting on a particular card. To hide if they have a strong/weak hand and which card might be strong.

  • @SSxSnazySnipers becuz your not cool if you can't do that

  • slagstorm kills all creatures even if protection cuz day makes it destoyed to or is there different ruling

  • @deathnotealex But Slagstorm says "Slagstorm deals 3 damage to each creature; Slagstorm deals 3 damage to each player". Since "Slagstorm" is dealing damage anything with protection from Red will not die since Slagstorm which is a red source is dealing damage. With Day of Judgement/Damnation it's not dealing damage, it's destroying. So something with protection from white will still die to Day of Judgement.

  • During 40:04, when Iyanaga place shock, isn't Conley had 3 artifact in control therefore prevent the effect of shock? and why did a 0/4 spellskite died when it redirect a 2 damage shock??? anyone please help me thanks.

  • @stupidtmnet Iyanaga played Galvanic Blast not Shock and Conley only had Etched Champion and Spellskite and Spellskite died because although they didn't show it they announced he slagstormed putting the Spellskite down to a 0/1 until the end of the turn.

  • @TheMasterJoelantino ic..no wonder it make me confuse because they didn't show it -.- ..

  • Bland looks like timmy from Whitest Kids You Know.

  • Gameplay starts at 9:45

  • 50:48. I wonder what Iyanaga thought when he went back to watch this on youtube. lol

  • 9:47

  • They see me shufflin' they hatin'.

  • When Wotc stops showing the face of the player instead of the ACTUAL GAME THAT'S GOING ON, let me know ; ) lol

  • anyone explain why on turn 1 iyanaga didn't play a birds ?

  • @mlgkadir

He knew he was playing against tempered steel. He saw the slagstorm in his hand and figured he probably shouldn't play it just to sweep it away when he would have to play the slagstorm.

  • also as a side note, sorry but Jun's deck is bullshit, he wins every game with 1 of two things, either by the titans, or by that nexus with the infect counters, just seems like a bullshit cop-out way to win. it was 23/4 than all of a sudden a couple turns afterwards conley loses...what a bunch of shit. its almost like Jun goes "hmmm im getting my ass kicked, ah to hell with it im gonna power up my nexus and infect the shit out of you i win"

  • @XchucksteakX or he could just gal blast you 4 times.

  • @farfnugen oh yeah i forgot about that match :/

  • @XchucksteakX your absolutely right! his deck is all about burning away or infecting the hell out of the players.

  • @XchucksteakX dude thats a little drastic ehh? its called a win condition and every deck has one! it seems after every new block starts and a few cards are a) cycled b) banned (ergo squadron hawk, stoneforge, Jace) a new deck comes out with a consistent win condition its cheap and a cop out! If COnley beat him you wouldnt be talking! Its a win condition! Ya know? damage, infect, mill, discard, etc. are all win conditions! Ppl complaining about consistency is ignorant sir or ma'am

  • @FNMGuru if conley one i would still be talking dumbass, and of course Jace (the mindsculpter) is a bullshit card too. your naming all these cards that are VERY broken and yes any deck that abuses that is a bullshit deck regardless. there are win conditions for every deck no shit, but some are a bit rediculous where they are basically unbeatable by abusing a combo that can't usually be stopped if that person has a counter spell in their hand via counterspell, cancel, mana leak, etc

  • @FNMGuru aggro, control and combo decks i feel have legit wins, you rely on fast creatures (aggro), or drag the game out to the end for powerful creatures (control), or you wait on a combo to be ready to use (combo), but some decks are broken as shit. i forgot the deck exactly but it has 4 doomsdays and 4 emrakuls and some other that the second you get ONE doomsday, you win. if i lose to a deck like that i feel cheated you didn't really use a legit strategy, just a broken combo

  • @XchucksteakX UB Control has beaten CAW BLADE and other "Broke" decks. When you are on a pro stage and top 8ing with these decks you wont talk shit> the metagame is the metagame you either roll wiht it or get rolled over by it.

  • @FNMGuru wow that comment was just retarded, if i was "top 8ing with these decks" obviously your not gonna bitch. they are broken ass decks sometimes, whos gonna win $30,000 in a tournament and say "wow this is bullshit, i don't accept the money my deck was completely unfair and ni-counterable almost" show me a vid where the champion actually bitches about his own deck, no one will bitch about their own deck. that was a dumbass remark to even start with

  • @XchucksteakX no shit cause they may not like the deck they play with! like they may know their deck is fucking broke and they know they will run over people but they use it cause it WINS not just cause they like the deck!

  • @FNMGuru once again dude, that was a stupid ass comment "no shit cause they may not like the deck they play with"...wtf is the point of playing a game than if you don't like it. guess i should start up MW3 and Halo cuz i don't like those games...puttin your ass on ignore im tired of loggin on my account and seeing another dumbass reply with no thought in it

  • @XchucksteakX cause they earn money with it.

  • @XchucksteakX if you are making money with ether game then yes you should...

  • i feel bad for people that play against these "landfall" type of decks, it just drags the game out and you have to keep shuffling and shuffling and shuffling, if i was Conley Woods i would fall asleep and ask "oh, you finally done? didn't know it took 3 fuckin' minutes to play a land"

  • how can this posible... winning in 2 turns omg

  • Skip to 9:50 to skip all the talking and $h!t.

  • prot is diff from hexproof

  • @PicesDreamer That doesn't matter; Slagstorm is still a red spell and since Etched Champion has prot. from all colors, it is protected. It is simple, really.

  • @PicesDreamer Protection = prevent all damage from, can't be targeted by, can't be enchanted/equipped by, can't be blocked by

Slagstorm tries to deal the damage, and it gets prevented.

  • I think the japanese term for that is "starring".

  • 50:40 through 56:46 best live episode on any MTG live cast simply ever.

i mean about 25 minutes of game and 20 of shuffling i mean come on their are many way's of shuffling and doing it fast can mostly be a bad thing but Iyanaga no just no.

  • Im sorry, but him flipping out like that on the asian dude is kinda unprofessional, regardless of how justified his frustration is...

  • @oXGenesisXo When Iyanaga is shuffling so slowly that he's holding up the game, Brian's frustration is completely justified.

  • i dont know why u people compain about Iyanaga's time - was there a time limit for games??

  • @Internalthorn You're only allowed a certain amount of time to ready your deck for a game. With the amount of games that happen in a day and the lower amount of judges, they need to be very strict on getting matches going on time.

  • 44:23 come at me bro

  • Is it just me or does Iyanaga appear to be extremely ridiculously stuck up?

  • hey do you know the Jun´ya´s deck ?

  • "Remember the titans"

". . .I'm as stunned silent as you were after Conley's win"

  • @blithium God, that was a terrible joke.

  • Iyanaga is a VERY deliberate player. I think that's why he's so good, though. People have their rituals, and he's no different. It takes some real guts for him to take his time despite everyone else giving him crap for it!

  • @SpiteBellow no he knows what to do and he just kinda stalls it

  • @SpiteBellow There's a difference between being deliberate, thinking things through, and stalling the game because you can't make up your mind. On a similar note, there is NO reason it should take 10 MINUTES for the last game to start because he spends his time shuffling his deck so much.

  • what are the tokens that Conley was using

  • Iyanaga: "Everyday I'm shuffling"

Everyone else: "WE KNOW! GOD! GET ON WITH IT!"

  • A 10 minute intro... ridiculous...

  • slow shuffling....

  • i think there should only be 1 mulligan per game. too cheap to redo your bad hands til you get a winning one even when you lose 1 card to start.

  • @6kOk3 because starting hands don't determine the outcome of the game enough already.

  • @TheNethertyp

During the finals match iyanaga mulliganed every hand and he swept the match

  • 1 of 4 cut their fingernails. Gross.

  • 17:45 did he just cheat he only had 2 mana or kessig he needed extra one to pump it up?

  • @anthonyp1010 No, he payed the birds and the dual land to activate inkmoth, then tapped the inkmoth to pump it another.

  • So Boring

  • Does anyone else get the constant loading sign on this video? It's annoying

  • @smpxix

In future if you've got bad internets you can download long vids in advance of you watching them.

  • 19:05 EPIC FACEPALM

  • @ximbabwe0228 haha... I know right!!!

  • Why are they constantly flicking their cards in hand?

  • @NescafeAddict not a skilled magic player, are you? play more, maybe at some point you feel the same urge to jerk with your cards a bit. you keep your hands busy when thinking about the game. it's natural.

  • @NescafeAddict Helps them think.

  • thats FUN

  • I love 53:35 when Colony is facepalming and the background is zooming out, it's like a visual representation of the pre-game stretching on for eternity. XD

  • Im sorry but half of the people in the top 8 playing the same deck does not make for an exciting championship nor a "balanced" game that will attract newcomers, I really think something needs to be done to influence a better variety of decks because I don't think this is good for the game of magic.

  • @ttayttay What are you even saying? The metagame now is more diverse and varied than ever. You can win practically with anything. So many good cards and decks.

  • @kustomkure I am saying 4 of the top 8 are the exact same deck. That's diverse?

  • @ttayttay how many of those made it to semi? Meta is diverse. Very.

  • @ttayttay umm... were you not here a year ago when the only deck being played was Caw Blade? Excuse me, but this format is WAY more diverse than the last. What do you expect? For there to be 50 decks of tournament caliber? its too much info to keep up with. This format has at least 5 decks that are Tournament worthy. Isn't that enough? Also, look at the people piloted the same decks....they are amazing players! it may not just be the deck.

  • Iyanaga WHY YOU NO SHUFFLE FASTER >.<

  • I may be wrong, but it seems like Iyanaga was using a bit of strategy from Miyamoto Musashi's Book of 5 Rings. In which I believe it aggravating your opponent before the match can sometimes set the tone for the duel. Examples would be to show up late for a duel. Thoughts?

  • @naejin this is true, i am new to this game and though the trend seems to be control or token decks i am trying out a red-green werewolf deck. suggestions on how to get cards for this deck?

  • @yogscastisbeast Buy cards from Star City Games

  • @naejin yeah, one thought from me to Iyanaga - never be an asshole. You can add it to the book you were referring to, man.

  • THANK FUCKING GOD fetchlands rotated out of the format

  • Iyanager

  • 0:17:40 - ACTIVATES HIS ASS?????? WHA?:))))

  • iyanaga looks like he just woke up and got off the bed with that hair

  • is there a reeason y iyanaga didn't play birds at the very beginning?

  • @KingCrOnOm my guess was to protect it, knowing he would slagstorm at some point.

  • @KingCrOnOm It would just die to his slagstorm.

  • post finals then semi finals then quarterfinals? I'm pretty sure that is not the right order....

  • 10:00

  • This video may be an hour long, but don't be mistaken. 45 minutes of it is Iyanaga shuffling.

  • @gundamfan555 I dunno why the hell he decided to shuffle so damn much. Our Brit managed to get 3-0 in the time it took for them to do one game AND Shuffle for the second game. That's nuts!

  • @gundamfan555 I agree with you on that one, makes me look like a fast shuffler.

  • @gundamfan555 Everyday I'm shuffling

  • @gundamfan555 lol to true, it always annoys me, its as if they think that this will change something "Maybe if i shuffle long enough, my deck will transform, into a deck, capable of beating EVERYONE"

  • @gundamfan555 Rofl.

  • @gundamfan555 My god it was painful to watch this live. I never thought that you could shuffle THAT slowly.

  • 2nd like :)

  • 9:50 semi-finals begin

  • Yeah finally :D

  • inferno titan ~!
