He's not helping dispel the australian stereotypes much.. maybe there are brown snakes and red backs near the bush, but he's making it sound like you walk outside and you die.
And why do Australian actors say "mate" all the time gah - I don't know anyone who says it, unless they're a yob
Its funny hearing him sound so australian after watching him in avatar with an american accent, I like to think I have slight connections to him because I live in Perth, thats what I like to think :)
I used to live around the same area, but more rural, we encountered snakes all the time. The ones to worry about are the Tiger snakes not the Dugites, they're both highly venomous but the Dugites are very timid and flee in every instance, Tigers however are territorial and can be very agressive if provoked. But you wont die in 10 seconds from either snake or spider bite.In Aus 3000 bites/year of that only 1-2 are fatal. Redback fatality is only a real concern for infants and small children
Its weird how americans and i guess alot of people see australia as being so dangerous. I mean i see king brown's in the backyard and red backs in the shed all the time but it's kinda like meh as long as i dont touch it i'm fine. it's no where near as dangerous as it sounds.
@RACH298 Hell yes, In australia things will kill you though, no Joke. Just don't be stupid thats all. Don't put a limb down somewhere you can't see. Don't go into waters that locals don't go to. The Sun will freeking burn you so cover up. Not scary, just cautionary.
i give the guy his due in this interview you can tell he's nervous as hell. look his face and hands he's really unsettled. it's one of his first big interviews.
@Kingsland7 Disagree with the 10 sec thing but to correct you ,but the Dugite does exist. Look it up.....You can be subject to a $4000 fine if caught killing one.
As for being a national embarrassment.....I think he's doing quite ok for himself.
@Kingsland7 I'm pretty sure he doesn't know exactly how long it takes to kill and just throws out a number, the same way that most people would, especially if they're nervous or something. It's not like he's staking by that claim strongly.
Its great but not 10 sec

also i think he means by 10 seconds. you got 10 seconds before the venom begins to take effect not 10 seconds aaaand... DEAD. lol.

i live in rockingham and grew up in the same suburb as sam
and its not 2 or 2 1/2 hours from perth lol
and its hardly a industrial town the refinaries hes talking about is in the town next to rockingham.
and we dont carry epi pens around and it isnt as dangerous hes made it out to be lol
but the dugite thing is true and red backs are pretty dangerous
good bloke though typical aussie.
