2 Kings 2:23-24 deals with children being slaughtered by God for a very minor insult.

Beautiful indeed, but anyone interested in really getting to heart of these verses should try and read them in their original language. Hebrew is a very different language from English and the psalms are really nothing like what you get in a translation (not the translator's fault, the psalmic style relies extensively on linguistic devices that simply do not exist in English) . Give it a try, it's worth it !
When I was diagnosed with Leukaemia God spoke to me with this scripture both at home quietly reading the Bible and then at Church during a Sunday service. How precious it is to me.

True HISTORY:

As you see, the morals of the foundation of these United States of America came from a much earlier time, a sound Judeo-Christian legacy, a bit earlier than the Bronze Age, I'd say!! As do mine!!

Okay...? Andrew Jackson saying something doesn't make it true. Argument from authority is silly at best. Just like how Darwin's opinions about evolution don't matter because evolution can stand on it's own without him.
We have the Illiad and the Odyssey, both written well before the bible. Does that make them true? To further drive the point home, people back then DID think it was true.
The Bible will be around as long as people are, but only as comedy for future enlightened generations.

Beautiful indeed, but anyone interested in really getting to heart of these verses should try and read them in their original language. Hebrew is a very different language from English and the psalms are really nothing like what you get in a translation (not the translator's fault, the psalmic style relies extensively on linguistic devices that simply do not exist in English) . Give it a try, it's worth it !
