Dude you are so right, you got to love the e34, I had a 530, I lost it when I tried to ship it to the USA 2010, I bought a 540 sport 2001, but I still missed my e34 because I had it for 7 years, and from Sweden to Germany every year no problem, so this summer we are going to get a e34 M5, beautiful design.
560horsepower, RWD, 4.1s from 0-100km/h (proven) and the best steering in it's class. This BMW M5 is the best M5 ever made, best materials in it's class, best shape, best exterior and interior, best functionality and best performance. Now I'm just waiting for G-Power Hurricane RR and RS :)

Its design is so much better than the E60 BMW, but I feel like the car feels more like a 7 series than ever. Big, Heavy, and even has rear seat entertainment... ON AN M CAR!!!
BMW USA stop delaying this car, we want it now not at the end of 2012. The current 5 will be due for a facelift by the time you release the M5 in the USA.
@Kaipeternicolas check specs it is not heavy, and better in all departments power, performance, handling.... get over the old M5, sure it was V10 but other then that, this one is up on all levels
@kinjat56 What do you mean it is not heavy? It is 90kg heavier than the E60 and almost 2 Tons is very heavy. Check your specs. And not it doesn't beat the new one on all levels. Not on Enthusiasmus and pureness... in performance for sure, but it's not all about performance. BMW M is getting closer and closer to AMG and AMG is getting closer to M.
@Kaipeternicolas and you forgot to mention half the "engine noise" we hear in the new M5 is actually a soundtrack played from the speakers, and not real sound coming from the engine itself. "BMW Active Sound Design" my ass.

E60 guys are delusional. The E60 was and always will be the odd man out of the M5 lineage, both in appearance and performance. M3s have had high revving engines with power up top, M5s have been torque monsters historically. The E60 was torqueless. F10 is by and far away superior to the E60.
@blackXSpr But then you haven't driven the E60 I guess, which is a shame. BMW M's concept was always high reving natural aspirated engines. Those are the engines that are fun (I mean the engine in the E60 didn't win for nothing 2 or 3 times the Best Engine of the Year award). F1 cars also have almost no torque but gain their power by RPM. That's how race engines work. Now it's a step back to saving gas (even the new one isn't really getting better mpg, it's just fake) do i need to explain?
@Kaipeternicolas and a good way to save gas is making the driving not reving as much to get the power. So they decided to pull out an AMG move and make the engines more torqueeeee :(

@blackXSpr As an E60 owner (stock 12.3 1/4 mile @116mph on factory rubber) I would love to see when and where you drove. I can break necks in my car and I assure you the E60 will corner just as well if not better stock to stock as an E39. The duel clutch will ruin the feel and the soul of F10. SMG or manual only way it should be! Rev to high lmao I guess the F1 guys better turn down the revs a few notches ;)

You realize at 5200rpm, torque gives way to HP, which is why you feel "torque" at 4500rpm. Torque is low RPM accelerative power, if you look at a dyno the S85 is clearly lacking low down torque. Its a good engine, but its a far cry from what M5s are about.

It's nice but I miss the V10 and the sportscar feeling of the E60 M5. This car is too heavy... feels like a previous Alpina B7 or sth.

The F10 brings back the original essence of the M5. Honestly, ONLY E60 drivers will be displeased with the F10 M5.
