@carnypimp - You need to have you father write a letter to C.I.A or the F.B.I. on the check he got that was fake, he's not alone, each day more Americans get scam out of hard erned money from this bastards. Here is the address where you dad can write and file a complain; Central Intelligence Agency, Office of Public Affairs Washington, D.C. 20505

@dahlia007ification i just got an email from the FBI in nigeria saying the have some money that belongs to me !!WOW and i only hace to give them $600 to get it transfered !!
They got my dad for 3grand. My father was selling his CPAP machine for $600 on craigslist the lady said she sent him to much money and he had to send back 2400 so he waited for the check to clear and cahed it. A few days later he found it was fake. He may now face jail time over a check a scammer sent him. If i was to ever find one of these trashy SOBS I would beat the shit out of them, torture them too before I handed them over to the police.
I don't mean to sound negative, but fraud and scams will never be stopped. Aside from that, I'm very glad that there are anti-scammers out there. At least we can make their lives a little harder and put their efforts to waste.

@piggyface2009 even if they cashed the checks the money wouldn't be taken out of their bank accounts because the checks are fake. Not just fake as in the owner of the account didn't write them, fake as in, there's not an account for that check.
only thing scammers are out is postage, paper and ink but if only one person falls for the scam, that pays for tens of thousands of other scam attempts...
Both the scammer and the scammed are greedy. people get scammed because of their greed. If there is going to be 10 years jail term for the scammer, the same 10 years should go for the scammed. Someone promised you 1 mio dollar to help him/her transfer stolen money and you agree? you are indeed a scammer yourself.

Banks cash fake money orders & checks a LOT.
Sometimes they don't get caught until the FBI catches it farther down.
I know from self experience in this.
