If you want to know why music is dying, it's because they are killing the music by thinking they are preserving it. Today, it's forbidden to put anything of yourself in the music. Music was meant to speak through the performer, and if ANYTHING in classical music is dying, it's that sense of spirit.

The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra is definitely "world-class" and it's my understanding that the oldest person in it is but 24 years old!

That is Fucking Insane. It's also the closest I've ever seen a symphony orchestra get to the energy and intensity of great rock music - although, to be fair, I did once see Ashkenazy whip some orchestra (I think it might have been the Royal Philharmonic) into a total frenzy for Beethoven's 9th. Great stuff.

I have an incurable disease which revolves around unmanageable pain and in the early A:M hours I grab my tiny lap top and fire up this glorious music, which allows me to get through another day. @jazzman78190 là , c'est un peu différent. ces jeunes sont issus d'un programme de popularisation de la musique classique chez les jeunes surtout de milieux défavorisés.projet qui a commencé dans les années 70 un peu partout au venezuela, et ayant 100 mille musiciens. L'orchestre de jeunes simon bolivar en est le résultat et la meilleure parmi toutes les orchestres de jeunes qui existent dans ce pays.
