When we were kids my brother liked this game because he thought the sound effect when you draw the boxes was the beginning to the song "Turn Me Loose" by Loverboy. Then one day he rented the NES version and was really disappointed when it sounded completely different. ^_^

I remember they had this game stuck in the "airlock" of a K-Mart back in 83 or or 84 when they used to stick the games anywhere they could. While my family shopped i'd spend the whole time there wastin' quarters on this game. It was crack for a 10 year old like me at the time.

GREAT abstract game.

Hardwired, you have to learn to "trap" the moving sonar thingy by breaking up the playing field into smaller units, and when the beam goes into a smaller unit, you close the unit out.

When playing two beams, you have to try and trap them both SEPERATELY,,,,enclose large areas up to 74%, and then split them with a line.

you kinda start out right but you're making it hard on yourself by enclosing big chunks from the get-go. you are, in effect, NOT TRAPPING the qix. start as you do but create a bunch of "fingers",,,like the piers you see in aerial views of manhattan(nyc). qix will eventually settle into one of them and you have to be ready to close it off.

this should get you 90% on the first board

I use to play this game when I was a kid. It seems like you only draw pictures on this game but, theres a LOT of ways you can lose a marker on this game. This is a pretty hard game to play.
