@XforeverlongingX Slaves of the Hebrews were either employees (like a maid or hired hand) or slaves out of debt. The Bible guides the "masters" to love their slave as a part of their household. Also a slave out of debt was to be set free after 7 years. This is Mosaic LAW. Unless the slave loved his "master" so much that he wished to stay his "slave". It's true that people used passages of the Bible as an excuse to have slaves but these were not slaves in the Biblical sense.
