I remember how popular this show was, it was at its apex at this point then gradually the novelty wore off (like Neighbours). I was eleven! You would get into school the next day and before even a hello, your mates would say..."did yoy watch Home and Away last night?"
The ironic thing is around '97 as Neighbours got somewhat popular again (With Madge and Harold returning and the Billy/Anne/Lance/Amy/Toadie gang), Home and Away started to lose steam when Isla Fisher and countless others left and wouldn't find its head again until 2000.
Getting on for 25 years old and still Australian television's biggest export.
