Flip 3D for Task Switching in Windows Vista

So how can i transfer the vista 3D "switch between windows" feature, into windows 7 ?

I use Windows 7 Home, and I find the Flip 3d feature to be very nice. In win7 though, it's more of a feature for people like me who can be ultra lazy and just want to hit 2 simple keys to switch between tasks lol It's great.

your not cool Buddie! vista, I've never had a problem with it... its a little slow at things but none the less works fine. Xp on the other hand is my choice of OS as its got everything i need. i only use vista for media center to stream to my xbox and PS3. stop suckin up to ya in laws and by the way 2 monitors is so last year, we all have 2 monitors these days and dual boot..... basically dual everything

I think flip 3d is better than whatever he showed us. Btw, you can't get that feature unless you have the "premium" version or higher.

There is no flip 3d in home basic, there is no Aero in home basic.

No you cannot on Home Basic. you can only get non transparent Aero Glass.

there is no such thing as NORMAL AERO. Aero is Aero, There is a theme that gives windows a border that looks somewhat like Aero, but it's Called Windows Vista Standard not Windows Vista Normal Aero. ;)

I accidentialy deleated the "Windows Flip 3d" icon from my quick launch icons. Can anyone tell me how to restore it. I Have tried the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" but cant find it ??

Do this dude.

1. Click on Start button and type this and press Enter:

C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roami­ng\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

2. click on the Switch between windows and press Ctrl + C.

3. Click on Start button, and type this then enter %your user profile name here%\AppData\Roaming\Microsof­t\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

4. In the Windows Explorer window it opens, click in an empty space and simply press Ctrl + V .

It should be back. hope it helps Lee.

it's win + tab, then u can tab through by pressing/holding tab, use the arrow keys or use the mouse scroll. u can also just click on any window u want u dont have to flip it to the front.

OK this is only mildly retarded. Hitting F11 on OS X and hitting Wn-Tab on Aero (Vista) does basically the SAME THING. It just displays all windows. That's it. It's just a "cooler" version of Alt-Tab. You know what I do? I click on the window name on my toolbar. WOAH WHAT A CONCEPT. Mac geeks, get over OSX, it's the same as Windows. Neither one can hold a candle to Ubuntu. And guess what? UBUNTU IS FREE.

oliver2341 he never said that is couldnt be done he just said he doesnt prefer using wf3d but expose is a good prgram and wf3d is actually really worthless why take time scrolling threw your programs when u could click on them from the taskbar but for mac expose makes sense cause its just a bunch of piled windows and no taskbar exactly so u have to sort threw and chris pirillo youve helped me threw alot of computer problems like installing ubuntu linux with wubi had no idea it could be that easy

Criss, flip 3D is much better if you press winkey + Tab then use the mouse wheel.

Also I just found out that once you have brought up the flip 3D you can click on any of the windows to bring it to the front. So, really you don't need to "flip".

I own a MacBook pro and use expose in os x all the time I spent a week testing to see what would work in Windows XP ,debin linux, and rpm linux the following are a list of what i have found they are 100% free and work well. Note Apple copied Konposer when making spaces.

You can get a sidebar gadget for Vista that is similar to OSX!

Go to the Windows Live Gallery, and it's there. Also there's a Gadget called the Chris Pirillo Live Feed, if you want it, download it! :D

Also, if you want just to use one key in FLIP3D, then hold Ctrl, Windows and Tab simultaneously, then you just need to press tab to scroll through FLIP3D

Expose is a Compiz Plugin (Linux) too.

Plus with additional features over the Mac Expose, such as closing down windows from the expo view.
