  • That is a good method to tighten the bolt, but to loosen it, just lay the pipe against the battery and bump the starter.

  • Hi there, funny video. You have a cool dog. So how do I get the crank pulley if I have an anutomatic? Also, is this video a good reference point if I am doing the timing belt on a 2000 subaru impreza rs 2.5? Is your engine the same set-up as for my vechicle? Thank you!

On the driver side you will see a hole just on top of the transmission. Usually the clutch fork goes there on the manual transmissions. Remove the cap and look inside. You will be able to prevent the engine from turning if you prop something against the torque converter.

  • beautiful dog and excellent video. have a question about changing the cam seal when i change the timing belt. how do i get the cam pulley off?

  • @oabus

Before removing the timing belt, you loosen the 2 bolts with the car in gear. There is not much torque on them, they should loosen right up.

  • Thanks so much!

  • excellent video. just wish there was better lighting because your knowledege is very valuable.
