  • please keep it up!!!! long live the TAPS

  • damn GOOD

  • Did that sound at the end come from the 1% non-finger-tapping?

  • what tool do u use to loop cause ive been looking for one

  • @GhostNY100 For this I was using a Boss RC20XL. Not a bad unit overall once you get used to it... I've learned to work around its limitations for the most part.

  • absolute tune

  • @TheZiggyMarlon Cheers!

  • Is this in standard tuning? this is too lovely for me not to be able to play

  • @PurpleandStripes (high to low strings) DAF#DAE

    Happy tapping!

  • This video was absolutely wonderful. I love this so much.

  • Is ''an obsolete vernacular'' EVER coming out? :C.

  • I'm really liking this, reminds me a lot of Minus The Bear. I'm impressed by the polyrhythms people come up with. Great job!

  • great stuff man.

  • 0:26 has such an awesome groove dude!

  • how did you learn this style its a style im very interested in i would appreciated some advice

  • sooo maaaaaaaaaath

  • This is fucking fantastic dude

  • @jddonegan

    cheers!

  • Hey man, this is really good, and I like this playing style, but I don't know where to start. What kind of tone setting would be good for a clean tapping style like this one? And what sort of looping pedal are you using? I have one by Boss, but it's not really user friendly.

  • @PigSpeakers I like Fender amps and guitars myself... so a good clean tone is never too hard to achieve. The pedal I used in this and usually use is just the Boss RC-20XL. A good clean boost or compressor can be valuable as well, although I don't care much for compression pedals myself.

    Cheers for listening/watching!

  • So...sooo good.... <3......

  • @xxbatman94xx Thanks dude!

  • is that minus the bear?

  • @MCEhrhart ...... i don't know if you are being serious or not....

    if so, no... it's original.

  • @mathyoumusic it was serious lol. it just sounded very minus the bear influenced.

  • this is tremendous

  • @UltimateVenom thanks good sir

  • would you say that fenders could be good for metal?

  • Comment removed

  • @Mathyoumusic I've got you a great drummer and a pretty good musically educated bass player if you're anywhere near NC!

  • Hello, what gauge strings are you using? Enjoyed you playing btw

  • It's quite pretty.

I'm curious of your math. Because I got 159% on your statement that the song is composed of 99% finger tapping and 60% loops. How is it possible to have an extra 59%?

  • @bradtwo my playing always has an extra 59%... at least.

  • @mathyoumusic i concur.

  • @bradtwo p.s.

    cheers!

  • Please record this properly! I've been coming back to listen to this a gazillion times now.

  • Your a beast!!:D I'm starting to do stuff like this it's quite fun:)

  • oh my goodness, this is beautiful. this music cums all over my face.

  • can you do tabs for this?

  • @ExerusKstovo i could try.... but my head might explode...

i'm not really the best guy for tabs in general

  • @mathyoumusic i try to do it by ear but do some mistakes for shure (sry for my eng :D )

  • Can you do a math rock licks video? I'd kill for a vid like that on YouTube.

  • @AirHendrix91 I'm not sure I know what you mean. These are just originals I've recorded on here.....

  • @AirHendrix91 Well any math rock sounding licks. Odd time stuff you know.

  • what kind of tuning do you use? i'm curios.

  • @sonoleonardo This one in particular is (high to low strings) DAF#DAE

  • amazing, he deserves 0 dislike ..

  • Please tell me you have a band. PLEEEEEASE.

  • @xthisisdisaster Find me a drummer and bass player and I'm in! No band at the moment, unfortunately.

  • where ya located

  • @xrickyisdead15x STL, MO

  • this is great, I've never been interested in tapping because I thought it was all EVH stuff that bores me, but math rock changed my mind. Any tips for a beginner?

  • You are one of my favorite Youtube artists. I'm trying to learn to play in this style on guitar and it's pretty difficult. Good work!

  • @BMK493 Thanks very much!! I often practice playing like this on an acoustic... to build dexterity... it can be a bit revealing and awkward sounding at first, but it seems to help.

    good luck!

  • Thats just awesome! What pedals are you using? Boss RC2 ?

  • @EleElectrophobie RC-20XL... with some delays

    cheers very much!

  • shit is great. i play alot of math style tapping on my acoustic. I had a Fender Srat with custom humbuckers that sounded good on a good clean amp tapping. This is 100 times better than what i try to sound like. Keep it up man!

  • >EADF#AD

what's the E for? what would be the difference if it was open Dmaj instead? just wondering, not criticizing or anything lol it's cool

  • @keganpwns

The difference is a full step. It's just another tuning for another song. They all vary a bit.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW BUENISIMO EL VIDEO SALUDOS DESDE MEXICO

  • Errrr, sorry to be a kill joy, but 99% plus 60% is 159%. Maybe if you were doing maths instead of playing guitare you would know this :)

  • @XANDERXXZ maybe Hes was being funny. and "guitare" haha maybe if you read instead of criticizing his math you could spell a little better.

  • @stevonave And maybe if you understood the etiquette off online forums and comments, you would realise that a smille face at the end of a sentance means you arnt being serious :( <------ see, sad face, means i was deaply hurt by your comment

Pluss im dyslexic.... just thought id let you know ;)

  • If Zack hill would put drums to this I would be complete

  • This is really good man. Is there an mp3 of it?

  • seriously fucking tasty

  • i absolutely love this song. the combination of that first riff you looped with the one you play over it is absolutely amazing. i really really like to hear music like this. you should most definitely post more songs like this, they are great

  • Unreal my friend. Very TTNG :D

  • any chance of tabs or liek a tutorial for this? just so i can get my head around how chuffing awesome it is. great playing, great style =)

  • do you use any special tuning?

  • do you use a compressor or any other pedals for that clean tapping tone?

  • @fredth3cat nothing at all. just delay and looping pedals

  • This is really good stuff man.

  • does anyone know a good place to learn this style? i know how to tap but it seems the stuff i come up with is really cheesy.

  • i got into this kind of stuff after listening to (older) minus the bear too much... and stayed interested in the idea of this type of playing from listening to bands like Dilute, Pretend, Make Believe, Noyes etc. it's important (i think) to just become a better player in general, and not focus on a particular style. the best players to me are the versatile ones who are not locked into a certain genre or label. i got into tapping after really working on my fingerstyle technique..

  • and because of that, i all ready had the dexterity needed to do stuff like.. well, this video for example.

getting seriously inspired by something is the 1st step... then, just make it your own

  • @mathyoumusic thanks man.

yea the band that really got me into this tapping style was maps and atlases.

yea ive only been playing guitar for a year or so( self- taught with music backround) ill just try and work my playing in general. i deff agree about being versatile but i just didnt know where to start with this style.

    thanks again.

  • @mathyoumusic

I can tell the same. i love this sort of style and other math-rock bands. Just like This town needs guns (kick ass guitar player Tim Collins) or LITE. these are also good bands and if you don't know them, just check them out.

  • @rayvshimself

    Collis*

  • @mathyoumusic

    oh sh**... my mistake.

  • Could someone advise me on some math bands similar to this? i already listen to foals, minnaars, dartz!, battles and stuff like that. x

  • TOE.

  • This blows my mind!

If this was a record I'd buy it!

  • I think he's recording an EP at the moment.

  • minus the bear-esque

  • @psychomode14 i know right? thats cool

  • DIY or DIE

  • btw what tuning?

  • yeah i would love 2 know aswell

  • DAF#DAE

    high to low strings....

  • 100% awesome.

  • @mirrastyle4524 200% eargasm :)

  • thats amazin man

  • i like this, good use of the loop pedal math-you

I would like to hear more of your music

    thanks

  • saw you at the chappel. it was the bomb... bomb bomb bomb

  • Wow! Great job.

  • killer playing man.

  • Great stuff!
