I'd like to make my own pieces for this! And it would be totally easy! foamcore board and styrofoam. like the pink and blue kind. not the king made up of tiny balls
You really have to admire him, Unlike most Youtubers, he does alot of the scenes in one take, so it doesn't feel disjointed and incoheirent. It's nice to see someone that can get across what they are trying to say without jumping everywhere on the screen to do so.
Someone should make a heroscape game with maps and map editor, existing characters, and possibly character skins editor and powers editor, and gameplay mechanics where they possibly run and do basic movements for attacks and dodges, and even a list of rules that can change if you want like in the board game. I can imagin it, i would love it, it might not be mainstream but at least it would bring all the army pices into the fans living rooms and it would be cool to share maps and battle online.
I want to buy some heroscape sets. But they range from hundred dollars. I went to the website (Heroscape com) and the price range is forty to fifty dollars most master sets. why are sites selling them at high prices. Where can i buy trees, ice, and lava sets?
@RTard48JRod Those are offered on ebay for outrageous prices... Just buy Masterset 1, 2 and 3. You will have quite a bit of terrain and also some cool rocks in D&D (MS 3). Also dragons from Orm's return are still cheap. Volcano and Ice are just too expensive for me (trees I bought in store for 20$ but it can't be found in stores anymore :( ) I have been enjoying HS for couple of years now and bought a lot of figures + my 3 yrs old son just LOVES it and I can see us playing best game ever.
@Tapewormz You should check out the heroscapers(dot)com. They have a dedicated community and they make their own custom ones out of Heroclix Figures. They have a forum that said that some companies wanted to buy the rights from Hasbro. If a new company gets their hands on Heroscape we might see it's rebirth. (Hoping!) Hasbro gave up on it easily and didn't market it much after it's first set which is probably why you never heard of it before.
hey i was going to buy a new master set for a heroscape night soon, do you think the new d & d set is better, or the swarm of the marro? please get back to me as soon as you can, and if your not busy, tell me where i can get them, thanks
Skullpudding is accurate, and thegreatcerebral is exaggerating.
Heroscape only requires a $25 - $30 investment for the 1st Master Set, and it can be played by many people for countless hours without needing any other expansions. It's only the obsessive-compulsive people that feel _forced_ to buy more expansions.
This looks really interesting, sadly I haven't had much luck finding it the UK without spending what seems to be 2-3 times as much as it costs over the pond. :<
Heroscape is like Magic: the Gathering: You can buy into it for relatively little cost, and you get a lot of "bang for your buck".
You can (and very well might) end up spending a lot more on it later, but it's done in smallish increments, so the cost is quite manageable, and never seems to strain your wallet.
We bought our master set and played it for a LONG time before deciding to invest in expansions.
NOT the same thing save for the fact they are both "hobbies". M:TG is a monster of it's own. Too many game types to validate what you are saying. For instance a good EDH deck will run $1200 yet a solid T2 deck can run $100. Not to mention you can always play drafts etc.
I'm wrong? How odd, I spoke from my own experience. Perhaps you remember what I spent better than I do?
A Magic starter deck can be had for under $10, and boosters for about a fourth of that. I played with my first purchase (2 starters & about 4 boosters) for quite a while before investing further.
And again, we did play - with ONE ROTV Master set (Retail $30) - on about ten downloaded maps. We didn't buy more sets for a few moths.
Clearly I speak from experience and the two games are entirely different. Any hobby you get in to you can get in for cheap and the more you get into it the more you spend; that goes without saying.
Sure you can build an almost infinite amount of maps to play with on one RotV Master Set but most of the maps do use more than one set/expansion.
I wanted to add to those that do not know the game. He has easily about $300+ invested into the game to have all that he has.
The "LARGE" expansion sets run about $30 - $60 each (if you can find them anymore) and the small expansions are $20. We haven't even seen his characters.
It is also annoying about this game that you cannot just buy tiles. You get 2 2x hexes when you buy the $12.99 character packs, otherwise you have to buy master sets. That brings a whole other set of issues.
May I say you are wrong? The large Expansions SHOULD run at about 28, and the Smalls SHOULD run about 13, if you're not getting ripped off. And you can buy individual tiles though retailers, I know that Auggies sells them. A decent full set could run about 200.
WOW you could be not so much more wrong. Ticalia runs $60 and I said $13 for the small/character packs.
But anywho normally you have to go to hobby/gaming shops to buy unless you buy online and they run in between the prices I gave. Also I have to say that I've never heard of Auggies before and again you generally cannot find them at a store and must go to ebay or Auggies.
Most of the user created maps online requre 2-3 starters (RotV) 1 (SotM) and 2+ of the other expansions.
it hurts me to watch that poor die-guy falling every time :)) i've never (and probably won't) played heroscape, but when i'm watching videos about it i really like how everything stacks together. I understand how one can have fun just by setting up a scene :)
