  • I knew you where very good on the uke but I didn't realize you had such a good voice. Very very nice.

  • I need to look into this a little further before commenting.

  • I think that was good too. N'oublie pas de venir en tournée à Paris !

  • @Aetiusflavius1

Taimane may be in Paris this summer.

    Looking for 2 more sponsors.

    td

    manager

  • Respond to this video...

    Mahalo!

  • A shiver down my spine.

  • I thought it was great! =)

  • I instantly fell in love with this girl when I watched this.

  • I thought that was fantastic.

  • Try and get booked by Ellen Degeneres, she seems open to having new talent on the show..but please don't go mainstream once your popularity sky rockets! You're too good to be lost among all the crap that saturates the music scene.

  • Beautiful and talented performer. Just outstanding!

  • You have a very sincere voice and an amazing musical talent, best of luck Taimane!

  • CHORDS??? please :D

  • Wow, this girl has talent. Great voice and even more amazing on ukelele. It also doesn't hurt that she is a very pretty woman. Keep up the great work Taimane.

  • Why isn't she famous yet? Get her on the ellen degenerous show. Find a lawyer, make CD's or find a record label to promote her. Just don't get abused by big record labels you know? Make sure you get a good share of the profits from her cd sales, involve a laywer when writing a contract with big record label, negotiate terms of contract, stuff like that. Make sure you don't get abused. Also record labels will help with her "image" to make her marketable. Do you want to put her through that?

  • wonderful! thanks for sharing your music. maika'i!

  • Are you on Itunes?

  • if she and jake had a baby, it would be a musical GOD

  • Ok seriously don't put her on American Idol or these other reality tv shows unless you really wanna kill her career.

  • Aloha,

I am her manager. She is slowly getting there. It's not an easy business and we are very careful who we work with...... a lot of skunks in this business. I am certainly open to ideas on how you feel to best promote this incredible and unique artist.

    mahalo!

  • @Napolianboo

    1. Get her music on Itunes

    2. Promote her in the states. The continental US.

    3. Put her on a show like America's got talent or even American Idol.

    4. More viral videos, capitalize on Toccata's fame.

    5. More behind the scenes of her praticing/performing in high quality.

    6. More activity on facebook, twitter, youtube - keeps her in touch with fans, and fans are how fame spreads.

  • @Napolianboo Play anywhere in France,

    Everyone would book her

  • @Napolianboo just let me know when she does

  • Why isn't this girl famous yet? She needs a manager I think.

  • Style is not lacking here. I think im in love. (^_^)

  • i just bought my First Ukulele today...I hope one day to sound as lovely as you.....

  • Beautiful!!!!!!!!!! Just too much!

    td

  • @Napolianboo FANTASTIC td, I'm sharing Taimane videos here in Brazil... No Doubts, she's the best female ukulele entertainer in the world. You have to bring her to play in Brazil.....

  • I thought it was excellent!

That's a nice thing to say, mahalo.

  • @Napolianboo

thanx but record again .. is a nice cover ..

  • I enjoyed this video more because I performed this song at a coffee shop last week on the violin.

  • Truly inspiring ukulele playing. Thank you for the vid!

  • @gangle7

    ur welcome

  • This was amazing! That is some impressive ukulele playing. Definitely did the song justice.

  • @RavingNova

Would love to play it for Paul!

    :O)

  • @RavingNova

I agree. I never heard Eleanor Rigby on the ukulele. It was cool!

  • wow, love this song...

    and your version is awesome!

  • @DerDeziBelzeBub

    thanks!

  • Absolutely beautiful! You have an timbre to your voice, love listening to it. Also, I love how seamlessly you play your (8 String?) ukulele. I have a kanile'a 8-string and its the only ukulele i own and LOVE playing. You're an inspiration to me!

P.S. It looks like your ukulele has 8 tuning heads but I see only six strings. If you don't mind, could you comment on why you string it the way you do? Thanks!

  • @AdyNem

    Sorry for the delay.

I string it this way because the single strings of A,E,C, give me clarity and artiulation of single strings. The double low G provides fullness and bass. thank u for commenting and sorry it took so look to respond.

  • awesome...you should come to santa cruz california, we support ukes!!

  • @driftingblakester

I would absolutely love to go. If there is a sponsor please let me know. Feel free to send my videos to anyone u think may be interested. thank u!

  • @memmingPark

Mahalo and aloha! Sorry for the delayed response. Very busy with school work.

  • @GoingSupernova

I have no idea how I missed your comment for so long. I am very sorry. Thank you for your comment.

  • you are fantastic! very talented lovely voice keep up the beautiful work you do....you'll there.

  • @msmindpower71

Thank you for taking the time to comment and I am sorry for being so tardy.

  • your incredible! how long have you been playing?

  • Thank u very much. For about 15 years. I'm 20 and started at 5 years old.

    aloha,

  • Whoa! An 8 string Ukulele? Excellent rendition BTW!

  • Thank you WingDiamond.

BTW, FYI,.......Taimane means diamond in the Samoan language.

    aloha,

  • Mahalo. Yes, I use a 6 or 8 stringer usually. Depending on the song sometimes a 4 stringer.

  • Damn, she is drop dead gorgeous, talented, and has that stunning appeal wants you to watch her every move. She could steal Brad Pitt away from Angelina Jolie!

Too bad she is in a very small market that doesn't get attention. I bet if she just spent three summer months in NYC playing to the Central Park crowd, she would get lots of free promotion. Even the Nashville crowd would love her.

  • Thank you very much for your kind words.

    aloha

  • For the first time, I see her singing on video. I guess she is performing musician and don't sing a song. Now she is a excellant player and sings well enough.

  • Mahalo TessOh1.

  • is that one of the guys from that great ukulele duet with the two of them on a couch in a music shop or something?

fantastic job by the way, I love your sound

  • Thank u very much for taking the time to write.

    aloha

  • Amazing.

  • Mahalo

  • Amazing performance. Really 5/5!!!

  • It's another old video but a fun song to sing.

    mahalo

  • Beutifull just a Buetifull song and played just Beutifully

  • Mahalo. Have a beautiful day!

  • I love your strumming patterns they just...i am not sure get my excited.....I adore your playing. To bad you couldn't come to Illinois...haha....I would love to meet you!

  • It would be an honor to play in Illinois. See if u can get me on Oprah, although I'm sure that is nearly impossible. But Oprah loves Hawaii and maybe has never seen the ukulele played like this.

  • this song is inspiring me to learn ukulele. amazing song and amazing voice. i wish i could live in hawaii so i could see your shows and wouldnt look out of place with a ukulele.

  • Never feel the ukulele is out of place. It is the most versatile instrument in the world. Most people have simply never seen it played the way it can be played. Keep showing the world what a great instrument it is. Share my videos and let them see. Ukuleles rule!

  • cool :D

  • mahalo nenadnen. Much appreciated.

  • You're great, girl!

  • Thank u very, very much! I really appreciate that.

  • wow, this is amazing :]

  • If u live in Hawaii please come to one of my shows. Thank you very much.

  • I think it was great thanks!

  • Mahalo!!!

  • Still watch this one all the time.. great strumming and great vocals.. so well done

  • Thank you CurtainGuy. I have a long way to go but your encouragement is helps a lot!

  • This was reallly good.

You have a really nice voice (:

  • Nice was very nice of you to take the time to say that.

    mahalo

  • Great voice, excellent playing, and beautiful to boot. My only complaint would be the apparent lack of emotion, it just feels a little flat despite the talent behind it. But then, I don't sound so energetic and emotional during practice either.

  • Thank you for the feedback. I'll work on that. Although it is just a practice I NEVER want to come across as flat. Thank you again.

  • Creative criticism is the only way people get better. Just keep in mind when you warm up in public like that you've still got people listening to you. Gotta get that game face on even for warmups. Rehearsals are a different story obviously.

  • "What did you think?" I thought it was fantastic. And, I think Taimane is so fabulous.

  • Mahalo nui loa. Your comment is very much appreciated.

  • i love this song and the girl too...

  • Thank you so very, very much! I like that song too!

  • THAT WAS SO AMAZING!!!!! Ive been inspired to pick up my ukelele again! THANK YOU!

  • Aloha and thank you so much for your comments and support!

  • Yeah Taimane! Another great cover. You sing and play it well.

  • This was totally insane. I'm really amazed.

  • a true musician, raw talent at its best. I hope you earn a very good living from music

  • I think it`s good.

  • i had to listen 2 u for music hw cos were learnin ukulele so i know how hard it is to play but it seems like a walk in the park wen u play it,from England home of the beatles

  • nice cover. Found it on boing boing some time ago and have been enjoying it often since.

  • Sorry for the delayed response. Thank you very much. I have no idea how it got on boing boing. I'd like to get more things on if I knew how.

    mahalo for your comment

  • that's not a ukelele.... those have 4 strings... no more, no less..

nice vid, lovely girl. splendid tune.

    peace from sweden

  • You can buy Ukuleles in 4, 6, and 8 string versions just like you can buy a 12 string acoustic guitar.

  • as far as i know (& aswell can find on the web incl. wikipedia) an ukelele has 4 strings. & with string instruments it all comes down to the tuning. a 12stringed guitarr for example has still the same tuning as a 6 stringed.

just because it's small doesn't make it a ukelele, for example, not many people would see the difference between a ukelele & a quatro, that also is smaller than a regular guitarr & has aswell only 4 strings.

    but please, prove me wrong.

    peace from sweden

  • That's an 8-string ukulele in the same way as a 12-string guitar is a guitar; if you go to her website and take a look in the photo gallery you can get a better look. You'll see the eight strings are "doubled" into close pairs, just like on a 12-string guitar. It'll generally be tuned and played the same way as a 4-string uke. If you check Wikipedia again you'll see it says "...or 4 courses of strings"; check out what "course" means.

  • Aloha to Sweden! I would LOVE to visit there some day. Actually it is an ukulele. An 8 stringer. The strings are must doubled up to give it more fullness and body. A little harder to play but I think it's worth it.

  • GOOD??? GIRLFRIND U COLDER THAN ICE!!!!..... And the hoods Im from ICE IS COLD!!!........EXCELLENT EXCELLENT BRAVO!!! U GOT IT!!! WHAT EVER IT IS!!! LOL!!!! MAN U R GREAT!!! KEEP DOIN YO THANG!!! YAH BLESS!!! JUDAH ETHIOPIA

  • congratulations your performance it's awesome!! I love the ukulele's sound. Hi from Peru

  • Great!

This is the difference in a girl who sings, and others who need help (of computer for change her voice and body marketing) for sing. Brava!

  • Awesome. As a beatle fan and musician I totally loved your performance.

  • your music is so wonderful!

    you rock!

  • que guapa que eres de aca de peru para ti mamacita

  • very nice. But a little more Passion girl.

  • Great playing, but could someone name song that has similar melody than this one.

It had male singer and I guess it was played with acoustic guitar, i remember melody, but cant remember any lyrics.

  • Wonderful.

  • What do I think? I think you own. Really.

  • Taimane - you know i am your biggest fan

:-) here's a tip. you may get more hits(views) if you spell Eleanor Rigby correct in your title ... you have it spelled without the "a". love your version the best!

  • Crazy fingers!

  • I want to thank you Taimane for brightning up my day every time i hear your music! You play beautifully...

  • I've actually hung out with her...like when she was a sophomore...she went to my high school

She is such a down to earth person...we went to parties, and danced, and ate french fries, and had belching contests

Tai's an amazing musician but an even better person...

  • very beautiful

  • It's even better when you sing!! Nice work!!

    :)

  • Mahalo nui loa ... I thought that was better than good. It was Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat. *****/*****

  • Exactly. I really hope the rest of the world sees what it is missing out on, because you are a lot of fun to listen to. :)

  • Fantastic! Will this be on the next CD?

  • I think it was good too!!!!!!!

I love all your songs and music.

  • absolutely fantastic. very well done. is that guy from wanaka?

  • Taimane Gardner, that was very good! I have been lately employing gypsy guitar technique to my guitar study and finding that the type of power that comes from that music is the same power I see in you and your musical avenue you are on. I will be watching you as time goes on. You have fun and that makes great music.

  • cant stop listening to this. i love it

  • you know the story of Elanor Rigby...right? well, it turns out that Fr. McKinsey actually had her killed. it all had to do with that celibacy stuff and him being frustrated and all. I think Elanor may have been a Nun?? anyhow...THAT was THE bestest version of that song I'VE ever heard. thank you Taimane.

  • Ladies and gentleman.....America's got talent!!!!!

  • NICE JOB!!! GO BEATLES!!!

  • I thought that was good too! Ukes rock.

    m^-^m
