@CardboardFortress If your guitar is tuned in the "normal" way then it's easy to find out that they dropped it down to B. I don't know if U have problems understanding how I mean but the key they play in is still in "E", but the "correct" tone is/would be B, right. The difficulties for the guitar-technician is how to make the guitar still holding the tuning. but my guess is that Mr Morello himself is one awesome dude on that issue like he is playing the axe...

I'm a bassist myself, and I think you should be hearing more how the instruments add some spice to the song, and keep the rythm up, wich, in most cases, is what they both are meant to do.
