  • Can u do a video to demo the sounds from bpm?

  • @MrBettabeats I already did some bpm videos when I first got it

  • I have BPM and I just picked up Maschine and Komplete 8 over the holiday,...my question for you Joe is why, in this example does BPM sound so much thicker than Maschine? Did you have some sort of processing going on in BPM...or maybe you had Maschine turned down? Thanks SaintJoe

  • Hey Joe, I have a question. I bought BPM 1.5 and run it on Win 7. Every time I try to chop a sample in the clip view, BPM crashes. EVERY TIME! Motu support is non-existent so I wonder if you have encountered this problem, and if so, do you know a fix for it?

  • @mugm2 yeah i have the same problem, I don't even try ti chop in bpm, I just use it to stack drums sometimes now.

  • @SoundsAndGear Hey Joe, Just found a workaround. You can chop in the edit screen. highlight the section you want to chop, press ALT +Space to play(review) then ALT+Shift to drag to pad. Not sure if you knew this or not, but now BPM is the monster I wanted it to be. This is nowhere in the manual as far as I can see. now I can drag a loop to the window(not clip window) chop and drag. I'll drop some videos this week for BPM. This is an amazing product for me now. No need 4 Edison now:-)

  • @mugm2 yeah I knew this but it's entirely too clunky when I have maschine, it shouldn't require all those steps just to chop a sample LOL, shouldn't have to alt+click just to drag chops to the pad. I was def not impressed by its sample handling.

  • @SoundsAndGear Well, to each is own. I have Maschine too. Just chopped a Anita baker sample in like 3 minutes in BPM. Took the same amount of time in Maschine. I guess I just have quick fingers.. Anyways, with them both, I feel unstoppable. Again, thanks for the quick reply.

  • @mugm2 yeah, pretty much, personal preference. but if it's taking you 3 minutes to chop a sample then I'm not sure it will matter which one you use :), clunkiness or speed is not a factor in that situation :) I like BPM as a workstation since it can use MOTU/UVI sounds, but since Maschine 1.6 I can just load all that stuff in Maschine so I rarely open BPM at all anymore.

  • Great Vid ! I guess my question is can you do it the other way around ? Can you import the BPM sounds onto the Maschine ? I love the drum sound more than I do on the maschine .

  • @jaycizaleo yep, you can do it that way as well.

  • thats what im talking about hot beat bra

  • @NINOBROWN914 thanks fam

  • why does it bang so much more in BPM ?

  • @JSprayaEntertainment I had the compressor turned on by default

  • does this require a dongle?

  • @YEE941 yeah, the pre authorized ilok comes in the box with bpm

  • do bpm have sound good drum sample like btv

  • @djtripleddd their drums are cool, not as many variety as btv, but overall it's a better program than btv

  • Oh yea, did u upgrade ya BPM yet?? i never did, jus wanted to get some feedback on the new features. i aint really feelen the 70 dollars they tryen to get out the bpm owners

  • @BeauSun572 I feel you, yeah I posted a vid on the new features, they included beatbox anthology, not really my thing. The new midi remote features are cool, they added note repeat, undo, bank aux fx, etc. It's cool, but I understand the frustration with the price of the upgrade. If you don't need midi mapping, note repeat, sequencer undo, etc...you probably don't need it. They also added midi select, so you can hit a pad on your controller and it will highlight that pad in the software.

  • Ur aright SoundsAndGear.... wasnt tryn to punk u out, jus see your reason

  • @BeauSun572 no problem bro, that's why I like to respond to all comments, it's easy to misunderstand each other online, I don't get offended :) Thanks for the dialog!

  • I dig, theres a few uvi sound that caught my eye.... other then that bpm is the only motu product i got. i use spectrasonics to camel audio to a bunch of other solid companys.... and as far as daws go, u should fuck with ableton im tellen u

  • @BeauSun572 I feel you fam, you know Motu got Electric Keys, Symphonic Library, and Ethno 2 as well as Mach 5 right? I was sleeping on Motu, they have good sounds. I LOVE Spectrasonics for sure lol. Oh yeah Ableton is the ONLY daw I really like producing in :) I can't wait for it to be fully 64bit!! I love session view, I don't like linear layout of other daws. I def use ableton, and maschine with ableton is sick, I like to use it as a vst rack.

  • Your bad, u never read me right, i wrote i got the BPM sounds in Machine, not all that other shit, i dont fuck with uvi sounds too much i got better shit

  • @BeauSun572 no that's what I asked you the first time lol If you had the libraries from motu/uvi for BPM, go back and read it again, then maybe you can give the correct answer lol At least know what you're talking about before you answer. I have tons of stuff, many of the uvi/motu libraries are dope. Better than the instruments in Maschine for sure, which is why I use the two this way. I don't like working in a daw when making beats really, only recording.

  • Yeah luvin the videos. Give me a shout out in your next vid. Respect

  • @pppeeeppee thanks for watching yo!

  • Hey SJ

thanks for another fab vid. Been considering getting Maschine but not sure.

Might be a silly question but can Maschine pads triggetr the BMP virtual pads and instruments?

  • @fadatiko yeah you can set Maschine to trigger BPM pads and such, the controller editor lets you set it up pretty custom and the new 1.5 remote features add a lot of stuff you can map quickly now.

  • @SoundsAndGear Thanks bro. I get my 1.5 on Friday. Can't wait

  • @fadatiko no doubt man

  • Yeah sounds and gear i got both. i think maschine got everything u need. In fact, i got all BPMs sounds loaded up in my Maschine..... How did i do that???? motu bpm aint the only program that lets u drag and drop. no need midi route i understand all that. i wasnt hating on your 300 views.... jus commenting on a waste of time. my bad for watchen this bullshit you aint no tech

  • @BeauSun572 lol, a little sensitive huh? You're lying bro, plain and simple. I'm not talkin about the factory bpm kits, I'm talking about Motu's Ethno 2, Symphonic Instrument, Electric Keys, as well as UVI's Synth Anthology, Retro Organs, Plugsound Pro, etc...you don't have those in Maschine, stop lying. May be a waste of time for you, but folks that actually have Motu/Uvi libraries understand why I would do this. Unlike you, peoples opinion doesn't upset me, lol...thanks for wastin your time.

  • saintjoe!! what it is. always grinding for us producers. thanks homey. seems like the drums are hitting harder in bpm. i just erased bpm off my laptop but still have it on my both imacs. might have to put it back on. haha

  • @lexamazing lol...whatup homie...yeah only folks with both of these will understand why I did it. Maschine is ill for hands on chopping, bangin out drums or using some of the internal drum kits. But BPM sound library is expandable and thus, better...so instead of messing with midi and having to bring it all together in a daw, I just finish the beat in BPM with the sounds I need. Folks want midi though, so I'll show a vid on that too lol.

  • this whole process is a waste of time... workflow is snail

  • @BeauSun572 waste of time for you lol...

Do you have both? Do you have all the libraries from motu and uvi? No different than dragging and dropping audio into a daw, this way you don't have to spend time with midi routing and all that.

  • can Mashine be used as a host to control BPM and Ableton live?

  • @Jaysmi1027 Maschine isn't a host but you can use it to send midi to whatever you want depending on your setup. I have videos showing how I use it to control vsts in ableton, you can simple send midi to BPM as well and control it from Maschine.

  • dope

  • @goongod thanks for checkin it out yo.

  • Yo this is def on point they way you working them together. You a genius. Looks like a perfect marriage between the 2. Whats up on a BPM template for Maschine? Holla at ya fam...

  • @soundasylum1 thanks fam, I really like it, because they both do things I love as well as things the other doesn't. I have a template but it uses the new remote features in 1.5, do you have that version? If so I can send you the template over, just hit me up through the contact page on my site :)

  • Great beat, great combo and I want to try it out someday!!!

  • @revelashaun68 whatup bro! thanks for checkin it!

  • All that bottom came from the BRM? Damn!!!

  • @BossgameMedia BPM sound engine is nice...I had a slight eq on my first drum loop slot.

  • Yeah man you got that joint down now ! Whoever sold you that BPM probably regretting it now..lol

  • @KnockSquared ahahahahahahaha lol.....I bet! You know I gotta look for ways to best use the tools I have, Motu/UVI library can't be touched in my opinon so...this is a good setup for me :) Plus I like the fx in BPM as well...so Maschine is now my "mpc" and BPM is my "fantom...triton..motif." etc...the workstation. Good workflow yo!
