  • Tom waits would do a mad version of this ....god lizzy were good and diverse.

  • I think Night life is a pretty damn solid album. There's always a couple filler's on Lizzy albums, like Romeo and the Lonely Girl, but I like that song at least a little. The blues, jazziness going here is awesome. This one, SHowdown and Still In Love With You put them in a catagory all their own. Phil is so underappreciated

  • @fultonfroth gotta agree...but even their fillers are awesome...Romeo and The Lonely Girl is one of my favorites...=]

  • @fultonfroth let's agree too disagree man, romeo is one of the best songs i've heard, very unique

  • @MikeyCano I changed my opinion, it is a good song.

  • (((((ThIn LiZzY)))))

  • just like stormy monday from the allman bro's

  • All that Jazzzz...

  • one of my all time favorite guitar solos... So clean

    1:45

  • @firelement YEH ! GREAT TONE TOO ! ....what a killer LP !

  • a great song

  • Preach!

  • If only I had money today in the mall I could've got this on vinyl for only 15.00, I need money damnit

  • Great soulful blues number, play it when the sun's going down.

  • Wow! Nothing like the stunning artwork of Jim Fitzpatrick to complete a Thin Lizzy album! They were always a perfect fit!

  • LAST CALL

  • Totally gem of an album. One of my favorite rock bands ever.

  • fucking amazing

  • dudes, i like this song, its nice.

  • phunk master phil.

  • Moore played on some of these songs

  • @TheCozybear65 on Still in love with you he played the Guitar

  • @Grumberf AWesome guitar, eh? Are you a big fan?

  • @TheCozybear65 Big fan nah? I'm more of a Curiouse young one, who wonnder how a good vocals and bass man can die being this good.

  • @Grumberf Drugs have destroyed the lives of many of the biggest stars and icons.

  • @TheCozybear65 Yeah, Drugs If they were never invented...

  • @Grumberf drugs are evil and so is their source.

  • @TheCozybear65 I know for a fact that Gary wrote It's Only Money and Showdown and Still in Love with you.

becouse i've found a studio session with him playing those tracks and doing back Guitar and lead

  • @TheCozybear65 but only apear on Still in love with you (playing Guitar on Night Life album)

  • @Grumberf Right on.. Gary Moore rules..I saw Thin Lizzy in 82, but Moore wasn't there at the time.

  • @TheCozybear65 my dad and me saw Thin Lizzy with Gary moore 2004 and my daddy saw thin lizzy 1977

  • @Grumberf awesome! I should have seen Gary play in 2004.. I'm pissed I didn't.. but , I did see Phil Lynott..That was cool..The 77' show would have rocked as well..They were really hungry then, not as burned out as in their later years. So that answers my curiosity to you being a Thin Lizzy fan.

  • @TheCozybear65 im more a Gary moore fan I miss him wish the put up at statue next to phils in Irland

  • @Grumberf my frist song with thin lizzy were Cowboy song live at sidney with Gary moore i heard on youtube my daddy showed me that was 11 years ago

Im More a Gary Moore fan I wish Gary were insteed of Robertson he was More singer and Vocals and Guitarist than Brian robertson

  • @Grumberf Ya, I'm still sad about Gary's death. Even more sad I never saw him in the past ten years. My favorite guitar player. I seen him twice in the eighties, and in the nineties , then follwed him through his CD releases over his latest years. I hope they (definately) put up a statue of him next to Phil's statue. Ireland would have to honor his memory.

  • @TheCozybear65 Agree there I got manny song with Gary Back on the street album

  • @Grumberf Ya, I noticed that on your channel..What do you like about Gary's guitar style? You hear that song on my channel? The main video. That song's addictive.

  • @TheCozybear65 I should say, a huge Thin Lizzy fan.

  • @Griffen967 heh heh

  • thnks nice

  • Ray Price/Willie Nelson The Nightlife

So cool to have cool British Bands doing American songs.

  • @elrip1 They're Irish!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @biggpio22 I think you'll find they're not all Irish. Brian Robertson & Scott Gorham aren't. That's 50% of this Lizzy line-up that aren't Irish.

  • @whitbyjet65 Ooooooooh, sorry I didn't know that :( Thanks for the info ;)

  • @whitbyjet65 Ooooooooh, sorry I didn't knew that :( Thanks for the info ;)

  • My mistake, I read that Mark Knopfler left Glasgow at a grade school age.

But the similarity in guitar styles are very noticable.

Might be one of the best solos I've heard. Especially from an 17-18 year old guitarist. Very impressive.

  • I see that Robbo and Knopfler grew up in the same town only a few miles apart. Was there some influential guitarist/teacher in the area that taught them both? They are only 6 years and 5 miles part in Glasgow.

  • I learned about Thin Lizzy because of this album, I was living in Chicago at the time and radio station wxrt was playing the fuck out of it, went out and brought it immediatly.

  • this song is so mellow :)

  • love this solo!

  • Great Guitar Solo! Wow!

Mark Knopfler ?? But a few years before his time. Who is this guitarist?

  • This has to be one of the most underrated songs of all time. he straight up jams on guitar

  • Great song. This is the most difficult song (and album) to find on the internet. Can't buy it on any of the web based channels. Nicely done!

  • Who plays the guitar solo?

  • its hard to say because there are t lead guitarists in the band Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson

  • It's Robbo on a Strat. Pretty mature, soulful playing for an 18 year old!

  • Wow are you sure.?I asked because even though Robertson and Gorham are good players(though i thought Robertson was at his peak in 1978) this sounds like a Mark Knopfler/session player type of solo.

It's the only Lizzy song that i couldn't figure out who does the solo.

  • Ya I'm sure. It's in Mark Putterford's 'The Rocker' book. Robbo says in the book that he was having arguments with Ron Nevison about the song and in general because he thought Robbo's rig was too loud for the studio. Anyway Robbo got really frustrated, plugged a Strat straight into the desk and cut this solo first take! He was a ballsy young fella!

  • Thats amazing,it's blown me away.I didn't know Robbo could play like that.

  • @Schuey4ever

I think that quote was tongue in cheek.

    "Wink. wink"

Who is REALLY playing the guitar solo here?

Sounds like Mark Knopler to me.

  • @elrip1 I don't honestly know, I always wondered about that solo until I read the book. It didn't sound like Robbo to me, but I had no reason not to believe what was written in the book! I have the album and don't see any credits for any other guitar players, I choose to believe it was Robbo anyway!

  • thanks for posting you rock

  • haha, thanks xD

  • one of their best songs...this album is the "bridge" and this song is a pillar. sorry metalheads.
