  • nice clean hit there i didnt see anything wrong with it pominville looked at him and turned away he should of knew he wsa getting hit

  • I love how he said "its probably Connolly lo"l

  • I love how he said "its probably Connolly lol

  • fuck the hawks !

  • You obviously do care, or you wouldn't taken the time to express your opinion. Chill out dude I didn't say anything about your mom.....Hjalmarsson fucked up Pominville hahahahaha

  • this is how i see it, was it a dirty hit..... no it was just abit late, Hjalmarsson was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, shouldnt be given more than a 1 game ban nothing more! also at the time of the hit Pominville was playing the puck so the hit was perfectly legal as one of the TSN reporters mentioned, that hits like that happen 8 or 9 times each game without injury it was just unfortunate that this one caused an injury

  • Not quite a dirty hit since Pominville looked directly at him before Hjalmarsson hit him. Simply because the hit was pretty close to being in his back, I agree with the suspension, and I'm a Hawks fan. A second later and it's a shoulder to shoulder hit.

The fact of the matter is that it was a play on the puck, Pominville saw him, and Hjalmarsson hit him with no intent of injuring him, just going after the puck. Welcome to hockey, last time I checked it's not really a soft sport....

  • @Brucesox

Really check from behind, interference, possibly a charge, and then the way he hit pomers it should be way more than 2 games

  • I was sitting next to the Blackhawks entrance and Hjalmarsson was shocked. As he came off the ice he was asking his teammates "Was it a bad hit?" He stopped a couple of times to look back at Pominville. It was definately not a dirty hit, just a mistake.

  • @vestonca it was a dirty hit, i call bullshit on ur part too

  • @MattMicko4 I understand you calling it a dirty hit, it was borderline. As for iy being bull not sure what part you are talking about. I don't have a video of him talking to the team, if you don't believe I was there I havepics I can put on Flickr

  • I was at the game sitting next the Blackhawks entrance and Hjalmarsson was shocked. He kept asking his team mates on the way off "Was it a bad hit?". It was definately not a dirty play, just a mistake.

  • it was dirty. Hjalmarsson could have easily taken another step and rocked him clean but he made a dirty play unfortunately he aint a dirty player and i think itll work itself out maybe a 1 or 2 game suspension

  • He should be banned for the season. 50% of his salary to charity.

  • Dirty hit. Not only does he blindside Pominville he also takes 4 or 5 strides. He was anticipating him to get the puck and hitting him as he got it. No intent to injure but definitely a dangerous play. The two game suspension handed out by the league is somewhat justified. Should of been 5 IMO.

  • why was it a dirty hit, because he got hurt? it was a clean play, pominville was trying to make a play on the puck. and no im not a blackhawks fan so dont try and make excuses.

  • Also, this should have been a 7minute power play, not 5. Jason did not fully have possesion of the puck, if any. Niklas lefted his ice and ran into Pominville who wasn't really moving. He was only moving back to recieve the puck. It was interference (Section 7 Rule 56 in the NHL rule book.) I could be wrong but what I see, i believe it is interference.

  • @ZakWolfblade I was right. Jason was not the last person the touch the puck. 0:35

  • @ZakWolfblade And as a referee I don't know what your talking about when you say he should get a 7 Min penalty. You can't call 5 plus 2 for the same hit... Only way you can give 7 minutes is per say 2 for instigating and 5 for fighting. That's 7 minutes. Technically Hjarlmsson got 15 mins of penalty for that hit 5 for I guess NHL called it Boarding and the game misconduct counts as 10 minutes. In Canadian Minor Hockey this would of been 5 for CFB (Checking from Behind) and Game misconduct.

  • One of the dirtiest hits I have seen in awhile.

  • dirty ass hit from a dirty ass player

  • Again... Another none talented idiot who's giving a dirty hit to a guy who has skills...

Hey, if you're not good, no need to act like a loser, we know you're one....

Remind me of how many goal does IKEA has??? His only skill is to be big and stupid.... Too many of does in the NHL right now!

  • @rockdCasbah Wow. It's amazing with your grammar you could call anyone else stupid.

  • Comment removed

  • @Yellie002 Wow. It's amazing to see how useless is your comment....

Since when grammar and intellect are related...

I'm not english, you moron, at least I can speak your language.

  • wait till saturday night Hjalmarsson, just wait.

  • this is a clean hit sucks for Pominvile

  • @hailtothemachine

    You're a joke man.

Go to Hockey School 101 before you comment on another hockey video.

  • @hailtothemachine This is 100% a illegal hit. Hjalmarsson came up from behind and hit Pominville (Penalty). It was also a interference call because Jason was on his own ice cause he was not moving around so that is officaly his ice. Niklas moved to hit him and did (Penalty). Jason also did not have the puck so its interference even more. I don't care what you fu*king say dude, it was a uncalled hit and is not allowed. Learn the rules.

  • @hailtothemachine If this was a clean hit why did he get a penalty RIGHT away. If you look at the replay BOTH referee's raise their arms (the guys with the orange arm bands). RARELY do you see both of them raise their arms for the same call. FURTHERMORE, the NHL has handed out a 2 game suspension to Hjarlmsson. ALSO, if you would be a hockey referee you would KNOW that this is hitting from behind. Learn the rules before you post stupidity on the web.

  • And I agree that it WAS a "dirty hit", but that obviously wasn't the intent and that's the point. He's still gotta call up Pominville and apologize and take his likely suspension and all that, but he wasn't trying to do that and it's pretty plain to see. Signed, a fan of Pominville for years.

  • That hit was not within rules, Hjalmarsson came from the back, not the side, that was a cheap hit on a defenseless player, if he would have came from the side there would have been no injury and would have been clean

  • While I feel bad for Jason Pominville, this hit to me was within the rules of the game. Pominville was the recipent of the puck, if Pominville was not hurt, this would not have been called for game misconduct. It was a "good, clean hit" accodring to NHL rules.

  • @idriveaTJ pominville had his back turned it was a dirty shot and u know it i dont consider it a clean hit and i dont think the nhl should either there trying to elminate hits to the head and head injuries yet plays like this continue to happen

  • @theultimatesabresfan Even Lindy Ruff admitted this was a mistake and Vanek pointed out that the guy throwing the hit isn't a dirty player but that it was a big mistake on his part. Hjalmarsson was one of their best defenders last year playing a good, clean game; it's not like he thought "Well we have the Cup now, might as well be an asshole!" There's being a fan and there's being blinded by loyalty.

  • @panicxitsxbrea im not being blinded by fan loyalyty i love the game and know that that kind of hitting should not be alowed and because of Hjalmarsson pominville could be out for the rest of the season and or have problems with his head the rest of his career

  • @theultimatesabresfan You are defining dirty hitting as any hit that causes injury, which is not what it is. Dirty hitting is a complex list of rules about intent, body hit location, and skating actions prior to the hit. If you look at the replay around 30s, hjalmarsson doesnt take a step for a while (in fact after the blue line), so its not charging. He does make contact with the numbers, so I can see checking from behind. He does hit a little high, so I can see that being called.

  • @theultimatesabresfan The puck is playable, so its not be interference... Essentially what I'm getting at is that the hit was not the most cut and dry dirty hit I have ever seen... It was not a "good clean hit" like some people have been arguing, but it is not some ridiculous suspend him forever hit. I like the 1 to 2 game suspension (especially since I cannot remember any other time I've seen Hjalmarsson throw a "dirty" hit like this).

PS: I like both the Sabres and the Hawks, so no bias

  • @theultimatesabresfan Also its obvious you are biased... Your name, calling Hjalmarsson a "dirty little shit," your reverence for Pominville... I dont think you can really make an accurate judgement...

Furthermore, it doesn't matter if you intend to infringe on copyright laws... I dont think the NHL will be trolling around youtube trying to bust clips... and frankly a 4 word disclaimer wouldn't save anyone if they were... I'd not worry about it in the future...

  • @idriveaTJ u ar ea COMPLETE MORON.... the guy he hit DIDNT EVEN HAVE THE PUCK.... at the least it is interference....and at themost.... a 5 minute boarding and suspension which was very appropriate...... the intent DOES NOT MATTER... u are responsible for your stick and your actions at all times... period...... u dont know the game worth a fuck.

  • @seehound619 The puck was only a couple feet away so he technically had a play on the puck... therefore it would not be intereference. I agree with the suspension etc, and I am not a huge hawks fan but the fact is you are absolutely incorrect. It specifically says in the rules that intent is very important. If the player shows an intent to injure its a match penalty, where as if they simply injure the head it'd be a game misconduct. Game misconducts have no inherent suspensions (unless it

  • @seehound619 is your second) and no inherent PP... very different calls grounded specifically in intent...

  • @idriveaTJ How can you say that? These are the kind of hits that end carreers and seriously injure players. Pominville was not in possesion of the puck when he was hit, and he had his back almost completely turned to Hjalmarsson. This was not a clean hit, and in my opinion, deserves more than 2 games.
