  • Even in death he has so much influence on people and helping people to live a better lifes

  • I just love Jack Lalanne, he has influenced so many people to a better life over the years. I used to watch him as a kid and exercise along side my grandmother. What great memories.

  • How old is he here? He looks great.

  • Poor people aren't happier. But they know if they lose their hapiness then there is nothing else left. Perhaps they have a more realistic view on the really important things in life. All the others are always competing with each other and cannot enjoy all the good things they already have.

  • Poor people are statistically happier.

  • it depends more on the person than their health, not just opinion but the truth. look at gabriel iglesias. he could probably be the role model of happiest people on this earth and the guy is obese. but i agree on that if a person is obese and depressed a lot it has to do with him/her not being happy with THEMSELVES

  • The future is told in the past

  • What's the year?

  • Jack Lalanne was one of the few true great American heroes. A very kind man, very concerned with the health and wellbeing of others to the point of making it the entire focus of his life. If only we had a hundred more like them, we could turn this country around in seconds flat.

  • Jack Lalanne, a legend!

  • life is just a ride

  • 12 people are unhappy!

  • Jack lalanne.. kicking ass in life and death.

  • Off the Pill: Smiling

  • @themusicmatterz I know right? it's weird they ate the same back then they also had the same issues we had today, I think its just that americans are hard headed.

  • R.I.P.

  • Awesome guy

  • @Speedskate2014 I hate the time period where we live now :X

  • Yet the fifties were the good old days. Yeah right.

  • The first few seconds of this video sound like a non-comedic version of Louis CK's "Everything's great & nobody's happy" rant. But still wise.

  • Thanks, Jack! You are as amazing now as you were when I was a young person!

  • A true American. Even though that word is subjective. I think this guy wanted the best for us as a people, he had a great philosophy on health and nurture and I use his juicer everyday. I am swimming with 40lbs, 66 meters, non-stop, trying to be like this.

This guy was truly a gift!

  • Jack LaLanne was a great, great inspiration to my grandparents personally and to my parents professionally. .

  • unbelivable he's dead

  • Just about all the food the Latin American's can eat is natural foods.

  • You could almost say that he wrote the script for the Heart Foundation and Anti-Cancer Foundation .... some 50 years ago!!!

  • A Legend !!! Way, way ahead of his time !!!

  • What year is this from?

  • What a guy!

  • Poor people can smile more than rich people because they know how to live without materialistic things!

    God Bless you Jack!

  • Thank you with vision 50 years ahead of ur time and caring for everyone.

  • I don't smile. I smirk. ; }

    We miss you, Jack.

  • His smile in the end was so genuine!

  • Get poor or die trying!

  • The irony that I'm sitting here in front of my computer watching this is staggering.

  • RIP(PED)

  • great advice :)

    Thanks, Jack

  • Jack is my guy! He knows wat works in these hectic days ;) Apply wat he's teaching.. you'll see the difference!

  • RIP

  • 10 people r uncomfortable because jack and his students r comfortable

  • Prophetic words for our human condition.

    RIP

  • 10 people here have to buy two seats when they fly.

  • I love Jack Lalanne he gave to me

so much inspiration for all things!

  • I love this guys passion

  • people never smile anymore....nothing but a bunch of ole grumpy frowns walking around. thats why i hardly look at people anymore.

  • R.I.P JACK the most healthiest man in the world

  • I recently found out about Jack. I watched a bunch of youtube clips like this, really motivating stuff.

About a week or so later he died.

    Fuck.

That's why people are so unhappy.

  • thank you

  • rest in peace.

  • This was made 60 years ago and his words are even more relevent in today's age. Jack Lalanne was way ahead of his time.

  • Your words Jack will live forever

  • Thanks, Jack. Rest in peace.

He was absolutely right. I had a teacher in college who was from the barrios of Sao Paulo. She said that they grew up poor, but were always happy. And she could never understand how Americans who had so much could be so miserable.

  • Rest in peace Jack

    he was a great man

    "The Godfather of Fitness"

  • So basically anyone who owns a computer is fucking doomed?

  • @MatejaBrevic ah come on, it was taken loong before PC doooooh

  • @MatejaBrevic Doomed is right....with or without a computer.

  • rest in peace jack!

  • @Lindawatcher

    kickin satan's ass!

  • @PaulVonPommes YEP! Beat him in set-ups too man!!!

  • @PaulVonPommes Getten him in shape!

  • @Lindawatcher How can you say such thing?!!!! He was a good man who helped alot of overweight people get where they wanted to be, you know what it's pathetic that you'd even say that.

  • @Lindawatcher

u just want some attention, lol

u shouldnt joke like that tho,

    because nobody is promised tommorrow,

    not even you,

  • @Lindawatcher Unlikely because in a lot of his videos he talked about "the good Lord" & seemed to be a Christian so he should be one of the few that are in heaven.

  • @freakzilla3333 You are probably right!

  • I smile most of the time but i don't consider myself happy. I can't help myself not smiling. So people should always smile. Great message. I can't wait to watch all of your videos and advises. R.I.P Jack Lalanne.

  • RIP

  • RIP Jack Lalanne

  • I wanna sing in a bus :(

  • rip

  • Man Jack Lalanne inspired me and all of the people watching this video to become a better and happy person :)

  • A very good and giving man!

  • rip jl he was a pretty badass guy sure was a handsome man though

  • @spiderman5402 Yeah, if I was a guy I wouldn't mess with him. You don't mess with guys who can pull 70 boats across the ocean with his teeth.

  • RIP Jack LaLanne

  • sometimes I just don't feel like smiling.

  • i'll try with your advice jack.. because i feel really miserable, and i have all the materialistic goods, more or less...

  • impressive guy, he walked the talk and was true to himself to the very end. r.i.p.

  • It looks like he said this a while ago, Idont see alot of smiling people around me.

  • I wish you could easily break into song here in America. Most people look at you like you're crazy

  • This guy really practice what he preaches, what a great guy.

    RIP Jack Lalanne

  • Dalai Lama, eat your heart out.

  • I heard that Jack LaLanne died towing a ship out to sea when the rope broke and he swam into a bridge.

  • Jack was saying this about 50 years ago here... now, set his message against today's world. It has been amplified tenfold.

  • Jack Lalanne is gone but his knowledge and message will live forever.

  • RIP Jack Lalanne you got many quality miles out of your body( God given temple). Jack Lalanne really knew how to live.

  • That was great advice, thank you Jack, and I do take his advice to heart, because he lived by example until he was 96 years old, so he must have been doing SOMETHING right, but thank you for the inspiration you've given me and countless others, you are being missed right now...

  • What a cool guy!

  • This matches my own thoughts and philosophy about life I can't believe I never knew about Jack Lalanne until after he died...I am sad, humbled but inspired to know that this man greatly contributed to societies health and fitness. He is so charismatic and down to earth genuine it feels unreal. As he said himself he was 40 years ahead of his time and knew more about the workings of his muscles in his body than most doctors.

    R.I.P. Jack Lalanne

  • This guy was a fucking baller... RIP Jack LaLanne T__T

  • "If you want to be happy, be". - Leo Tolstoy

  • see even in the old days they weren't happy....My grandpa lied to me! lol

  • Smiling is free, cynicism is overrated!

  • This is great. God bless this great man. So much more wisdom from his era of people-great Americans those folks.

  • Jack LaLanne, brought fitness to the masses, right into their living rooms; in a fun energetic way that has never been duplicated. Words cannot describe how thankful I am for his inspiration when I was a young, out-of-shape kid wanting to be better and for him blazing the trail for me to do for others, exactly what he did for me. Goodbye Jack. I will try my best to live up to the example you set. Believe me, there will never be another. Jack was it.

  • @FusionFPDoylestown Your comment was very inspiring! It is really nice to know that there are other people like myself who truly do care and try to make this world a better place. Thank you for posting.

  • Words of wisdom from a guy who knew what was best in life!!!!

  • @pete0969wi but if you have money and drive a Porsche, you get pussy! and you dont even have to be in shape so... Especially when a fitness model at the ripe age of 28 could get run over by a fat, outta shape slob, driving a Porshe while hes getin a BJ... just sayin'

  • Do you know when this video was shot of Jack? It's amazing to see just how long the basic message stays the same for us all...

  • @TheYuMaster This was probably done in early sixties. It's a really great message!

  • Awesome video!

  • More appropriate today than ever. What a great legend! RIP Jack

  • Complications from flu shots are rare. There are many, many more complications and deaths from not receiving the flu vaccine. You also can not get the flu from receiving the flu shot. If Jack LaLanne received the flu shot it showed he continued to be a smart man about health matters.

  • R.I.P Jack LaLane, Jan. 23... we will miss you!! God rest your precious soul!

  • There are 10 "dislikes" on this video. I don't get it, what is not to like? Simple and to the point information that is all true.

  • @InnateDoctor

They're just jealous of him. He didn't advocate popping a quick pill to fix everything, but instead encouraged getting fit the natural way. In the world we live in today, trying your hardest not to give in to any quick fixes that don't really fix anything is a sign of strength. And a quality anyone might envy.

  • @InnateDoctor just 10 unhappy people who eat badly & get no exercise...

  • I think he had it right.

  • Everyone do 10 jumping jacks for JLL !!

  • Thanks Jack...I'm sure you'll have the Angels working out with you in heaven :)

  • Jack helped start me on a path which I intend to walk to for the rest of my life

    .

Thanks Jack, you and people like you make this world a better place in which to live and inspire others to do the same.

You taught me to exercise, rest, and feed my body and mind properly everyday in order to stay happy, healthy, young, strong, wise, rich, kind, and prosperous.

For this I am eternally grateful.

  • RIP Jack! He and his wife will always be a great inspiration!!

  • Sorry, but I'm not smiling right now because I learned he passed away - RIP Mr. Lalanne. This is shocking - I thought he would easily make it to100. Even in his 90s, he had the body of someone barely a third of his age. And what he says here is very true

  • R.I.P. Lalanne

  • Just add color and high def

    rebroadcast his show

    make a profit

  • A true inspiration its always been said more money more problems

  • My mom and I used to watch him all the time...RIP Jack. May God bless his family.

  • r.i.p.

  • His older brother Norman took Jack's advice & lived to 97. I always thought Jack was destined to beat that, but 96 is astounding nonetheless. Thanks for everything, Jack.
