  • @philisgarn I'm thinking that you have no kids of your own or that your a little crazy because to make that statement is to show what your made of, the killing of any kids from any country is just wrong but why would I think that I could reason with you .Your kind are the ones that enjoy war that way you can do as you want but then again you never been in a war or a gun fight so their is no more I have to say to you.Until you seen death first hand shut up.

  • @boyddevan Occupation!!!! what crap

  • never mind the playground shite for a second: Please give a legitimate reason why the british government / Loyalist community can lay any claim to N. Ireland.

  • A democratic vote to stay within the United Kingdom that should be good enough for anyone. The British Government and also the Irish government (since the Belfast agreement) lay no claim to northern Ireland

  • if loyalists could stick to writting thier hatred shit n leave us to writtin the real stuff!!imagine they could'nt think of one other tittle half witts

  • It may be a matter of time! With the current political situation the future of NI will be determained by the majority vote! Eireann go deo!

  • Yeah and pigs might fly !!! you would be asking for a Northern European Beirut !! and i'd love to see the yanks Police that one !!

  • I love the way Dido added it in her new song!!!! This song is very good, Love it when it is done by the Barleycorn more though.....

  • Isnt my Granda just a complete irish rebel legend.........yeeeeooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fair Play to Dido, never forgetting her Irish Roots!!! Tiocfaidh Ar la!!!

  • Indeed - didn't hear the song till today. Unionists are going mad over it. The Men Behind the Wire was written for the Northern Ireland Civil Rights Association and not for the "murderers" and "terrorists" Mr Campbell is banging on about!

  • what's this got to do with Dido?

    Have i missed something?

  • Aye she has a new song with the chorus to this song in it... song is called Lets do the things we normally do I think. It's about her own Father.

  • @lreland1 I have this tape on house too!didn't know it was Paddy Singing. a couple of rare rebel songs on it, great tape!

  • the English sent there criminal scumbags here too sort out the Irish, hence the black and tans

did,nt they do well boys ;they behaved like true English men, our boss is in charge lets be scumbags we are English

  • the blacks and tans got what they deserved. they were cunts who tried bullying the Irish with permission from the British.

They got what was coming to them.

  • Proddy crap!!! Give me the sash anyday!!

  • havent heard this in must be 25 years or more

got a bollicking of me da for playing it full belt with all the windows open

glad to see it on here up the ra

  • Love this song. IRA-Freedom fighters!! just like the czech paras that fought their nazi occupiers, the french resistance that fought their nazi occupiers, and the afghan rebels that fought the soviet invaders during the 1980s. this proves you can NEVER beat people that are willing to die for their freedom. Tiocfaidh ar la - De oppresso Liber!!

  • Ah!

Nothing like a good old fashioned over simplification of a complex issue?

    I presume you're not Irish.

  • The British invasion of Ireland can be simplified in 1 sentence:

They saw, they wanted, they raped, murdered and tortured for 800 years for it.

  • tit tit bbbboooommmmmbbbbb

  • finally a this song with the right words lisin to this then lisin to the woolf-tones thay get the words all rong

  • My father was a good friend of paddy and i have had the pleasure of a wee sing song in his company as well.I use to have all his music on records and tapes, can anyone tell me any websites or music stores where i can get cds etc.

  • i love dis song

  • hey ireland think u might know my da from joy st

  • Irish friends welcome in Scotland

  • Lovely place it is too. Visited Scotland last month.:)

  • luv dis song!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • "England's name again is sullied in the eyes of honest men"; how true. I'm English and I like to think I'm honest; I'm ashamed of what we did to Ireland. Sing up the ra and good on 'em; foreign invaders should be opposed.

  • fucking british they suck ass

  • thick yankee cunt

  • This is not Paddys version.

I went to school with his son, Paddy..

and i had the 45, heard Paddy singing it too.

  • It is Paddy and also his version. This is ripped directly off his solo album from 1975. This isn't the first recording of it though, he recorded with the Barleycorn before this.

  • could be....but sounds off due to the ripping etc...

Paddy and Paddy both really good guys.

havent seen then in prolly 30 years

  • Trust me it is. Paddy now lives in N.Dublin on the coast.

  • Well good for Paddy..

tell Paddy jr i said hi.

tell him old friend from Holy Child school

  • I dont personally know Paddy Jr, have never met the guy. :-) Where bouts in Andytown you from?

  • ummm This is not Paddy this is the barleycorn.......... just in case you were curious and the singer is Liam Tiernan

  • Sorry, but you are wrong, this is defo Paddy, as it comes straight from his solo album. Did your Father play in a group called Platform by any chance?

  • Nope he was one of the original Barleycorn members Paddy was in the group too, I spaced sorry lol they were very good friends

  • Cop on.. if ya dont know wat your talkin bout dont speak........

  • Are you a fan of Liam Tiernan and or Paddy? for someone who speaks so much on a few of their areas you don't say much.........

  • Great song. It's just as relavent today as it was in 1974. All you have to do is substitute "Baghdad" for "Belfast".

  • the wolfetones pimped this song up big time!

  • This was Paddy's solo effort of his song and as such it is the original version. If you want the best version search for the Barleycorn. If you think that was 'pimped up', Bring them Home by Eire Og is a seriously 'pimped up' version of Paddy's original. :)

  • yep i like this version better
