First, in this film, when Martin and Candy are in the back of the pick up truck in Wichita Martin asks Candy how cold he thinks it is...and with a perfect pause and deadpan answer, John answers "one". This line would not have been funny with any other answer, and Candy gave the perfect reading of the line.
